The vSphere client is a terrible Viewer. Very slow. W2K is also a limitation. Take a look at the other viewers if RDP is not suitable. Radmin is one I've used several years ago.

  • This host does not support VT *.

    I get the message: "this virtual computer is configured for.

    64-bit operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not

    possible.  This host does not support VT continue with 64-bit support"?

    If I don't answer him then continues to try to start the virtual machine but cancel then with "the task was canceled by a user" even if I don't cancel anything. If Yes, well, after validation, and attempt to start the ISO XP it says "this processor is not compatible with x 64 mode. Please install a X 86 32-bit operating system. »

    That's what I get every time I turn on a virtual machine where I'm trying to start a 64-bit XP ISO file so that I can install XP 64 bit on it.

    I am running 4.1 on a 64-bit VM ESX (Redhat Linux 5 64-bit) of VMWare Workstation v7.  I tried Windows XP 64-bit and other flavors of

    Linux 64-bit but same problem with all of them.

    My physical pc consists of: CPU Q6600 (which supports VT).  The mobo is P5E - VM HDMI and VanderPool (VT) with XD bit set is enabled in the BIOS.  It is running

    to 3.60 GHz.

    So I can't install any 64 bit OS because it tells me that my pc ESX 4.1 VM does not support VT... I started in its virtual bios but there is no parameter VT it.  Yet, when I boot ESX with the preferred Mode of CPU Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/IVR value I get a message bit on the right down saying: "this host does not support the EFA. For material aid to virtualization with MMU software. "So I don't know that he sees VT during startup of ESX, only virtual computers created in ESX do not seem to see it.

    I have already added the following in my vm ESX 4.1 .vmx file:

    guestOS = "vmkernel".

    monitor_control.vt32 = 'true '.

    monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = 'true '.

    I tried also to add the above in vmx file XP 64 bit VM as well.  Any ideas on how I can install a 64 bit OS in a virtualized 4.1 ESX? Or it is not possible?

    yorkman.

    you run nested ESX. In ESX ESX. You can install 32-bit operating systems in this type of environment. VMware has no VT support for nested VMS

  • Cannot migrate VM between 5.5 ESXi versions: the version of the product to the destination host does not support one or several CPU features

    We receive an error message that I am trying to make sense. I understand very well the notion of compatibility, CPU, CPUID, masking and so on, after working on a competitor hypervisor. However, this error seems wrong (or needs better wording) based on my understanding:

    Here is the message:

    ----

    A general error occurred: the version of the product to the destination host does not support one or several features of the CPU currently use by the virtual machine.

    Characteristics of CPUID level 0 x 1 'ecx' register are indicated with a '1' bit: x00x:xxx0:xx0x:x 000: x 0 11xx:00: 00xx:11xx

    ----

    This happened during the migration between two hosts ESXi with the same physical processors - in this case, a Westmere X 5650.

    The source host is on ESXi build 2068190 (5.5). The destination host is on ESXi build 1474528.

    The bits it seems to complain are:

    DTES64

    Monitor/MWait

    Cx16

    PDCM

    The punch line seems to be: "the product version of the destination host. However, I have trouble believing that support for these features have been added to ESXi between the two versions. If it were, VMware has been certainly silent about.

    For what it's worth, explicitly set us the CPUID masks in our virtual machines (no, CVS is not an option for us at this time.) This is the mask:

    CPUID.1.EAX = "00000000000000100000011001010001".

    CPUID.1.ECX = "00000010100110001110001000111111".

    CPUID.1.EDX = "10001111111010111111101111111111".

    CPUID.80000001.ECX = "00000000000000000000000000000001.

    CPUID.80000001.EDX = "00101000000100000000100000000000".

    cpuid.d.EAX = "00000000000000000000000000000000".

    cpuid.d.ECX = "00000000000000000000000000000000".

    cpuid.d.EDX = "00000000000000000000000000000000".

    Note that the bits of the message complains (2, 3, 14, 15) * are * in fact forced to '1' in our mask of cpuid.1.ecx. That means (if I understand correctly), ESXi does not have the virtual machine unless the host processor supports the feature. And in our case, the virtual machine will start with happiness on nodes, with both versions. It will be not simply migrate between them.

    So, long story short, is this a bug of ESXi? The error message is misleading? I understand something?

    Thank you

    Matt

    To use the masks feature VM in this way, you must replace all the 1 to your masks with-'s:

    CPUID.1.EAX = "00000000000000-000000 - 00-0 - 000-

    CPUID.1.ECX = "000000-0-00--000---000-000---".

    CPUID.1.EDX = '-000 - 0-0 - 0-

    CPUID.80000001.ECX = "0000000000000000000000000000000 -"

    CPUID.80000001.EDX = "00-0-000000-00000000-00000000000.

    cpuid.d.EAX = "00000000000000000000000000000000".

    cpuid.d.ECX = "00000000000000000000000000000000".

    cpuid.d.EDX = "00000000000000000000000000000000".

    Zeros erases the features that are not available on your hosts Westmere, and dashes will leave the other one features.  The problem with those masks was forced to you certain features on who would have normally been off.

  • What does that mean? -This problem occurred because your graphics card does not support the required version of DirectX. This version of Windows requires a DirectX 9.0 compatible video card or newer.

    I tried viewing a presentation power point and got to page 2 and my computer crashed.  Thought on... what he did previously trying to display a PPP file, but I thought that it was not my computer to the actual file.  now I have my doubts and also this time an error message came that said... This problem occurred because your graphics card does not support the required version of DirectX. This version of Windows requires a DirectX 9.0 compatible video card or newer.  can someone tell me what I should do next?

    You left out which version of DirectX has been shown.

    As far as I know, your Intel 945GM should support DirectX 9 and because you have XP sp3, you must have at least DirectX 9 installed.

    I met the following, but it shouldn't apply to Powerpoint:

    Some such as the Intel 945 GM Intel video cards have a design limitation which may cause problems when you try to run the Source Engine games. 3D graphics kernel does not support transformation of material, light and the vertex shader to similar technologies, which is an important part of the pipeline of 3D acceleration. Instead, this functionality is emulated in software that can reduce the compatibility and performance with 3D games.

    I don't have a solution for you (assuming that DXDIAG, in fact, reports to have DirectX 9 or higher).  You can see if you install a new driver support, but if it were me, I would be first contact Acer technical support or ask your question in another forum as one of the following conditions:

    Intel graphics Forum: http://communities.intel.com/community/tech/graphics
    Forum PowerPoint: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/powerpoint (select the corresponding forum for your version of Powerpoint).  Include the results of DxDiag, including the version of DirectX.  If there is something unusual about the image that causes the crash, include this info as well.

    Normally, for notebook/laptop computer, it is better to get the drivers of the mfr of computer rather than the manufacturer of the device.

    Acer drivers for your computer are here: http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=535 (you want the Intel VGA for XP driver)

    Intel has a newer driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Internet+Devices&ProductLine=Netbooks&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+945GM+Express+Chipset+Family
    It's the main Intel support page: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/graphics/945gm

    When I click the icon "Cycle multiple monitors", I get the message "VMware Workstation does not support the multiple monitors feature in other guests."  Google found me no hits on it.  Anyone know what that means or how I could get multiple monitors to work?

    The host OS is Windows 7 Professional x 64 with service pack 1 applied.  The guest operating system is Debian Linux, version 8, also 64-bit.

    $ uname - a

    Hi Steve and welcome on VMware communities!

    With your virtual machine turned off the power, go into the settings of your virtual machine and on the Options tab, under general, select the client OS type: Linux > Debian 7 64-bit.  Then try to turn your virtual computer and see if it works.  (8 debian is quite close to Debian 7.)

    See you soon,.

  • The document _ is on a volume that does not support the permanent version storage.  You will not be able to access older versions of this document once you close.

    I recently started getting this strange message, usually when a Pages document is closed:

    «The document _ is on a volume that does not support the permanent version storage.»  You can access older versions of this document once you close. »

    All my research (apple.com and on the internet) have not enabled all the information on this message.

    Hi Larry,

    The 'volume' is a hard disk, a partition on a hard drive or a storage as a USB device.

    OS X automatically saves your document frequent while you work on it. If the volume of the device / it records on a summer formatted to allow 'versioning', you will be able to use Time Machine to open previous versions of your document. If it has not been formatted like that, you get the message see you, and only the current version of the document will be saved.

    The use of the recovery CD will set your laptop to original settings.
    I mean, the recovery CD will format the whole HARD drive and will delete all your files

    What should I do?

    You have the two desktop software and link configurΘ for dΘmarrer when a device is connected to your Mac. You must go into the Desktop software settings (I don't remember exactly what to do, but there should be some settings at the top right) and set it to not open when a device is connected. Once you have it set to not open when your phone is connected, make sure that the link is set to open. That should solve your problem.
