Msconfig does not and when I try to install it from microsoft, it is said!

Setup has detected that the version of the service pack from this system is newer than the update you are applyingnow do - what I do?

I first noticed it when im trying to sort out my startup programs by going to start > run > msconfig, but when I press on enter I get this message. Windows cannot find 'msconfig '. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search.

Now my mrt.exe still works, I think that there is a virus or something on this laptop.  now what should I do?

info if it's of any use to you

Microsoft windows xp media center edition sp3
1 GB of RAM
150 GB HARD drive
1.80 GHz intel cpu
Yes I know it is an old laptop, but my broken new and cannot afford to fix it again. I have a Windows xp disc, but units not media center edition, just xp home edition if this can help files or folders.

Help, please...
