MSif # .tmp in Macintosh HD. What is?

Hi all

I clone my HD every day with Carbon Copy Cloner, and it has recently been returning errors. He informed me that there are several files in the folder Macintosh HD index, which are all named "MSif # .tmp", and he struggles to 'read the attributes of the element in the source.

I was wondering what here? They seem to be empty folders, but I can't remove them (return code of error-8058).

Thanks for your help

  • Creating files of great Lightroom cr_sdk_*.tmp

I use Lightroom 4.1 RC2 on 64-bit Windows 7. My C: drive is an SSD and roughly 8 GB free. My catalogue and Lightroom cache are configured to live on my drive F: However, so I would not have thought that this would be a problem.

What I see is after an hour or so of editing (in module development only), I have run out of space on my C: drive that causes Lightroom out and other instability of the general system (for example Windows Explorer matrices). Looks like Lightroom to create large files in my temp (C:\Users\ < username > \AppData\Local\Temp) for example called cr_sdk_03182513.tmp directory.

What these files are for and why they are so great? Can I set up Lightroom to store elsewhere (ideally without moving my temp dir)?

The guest account is part of OSX and nothing to worry about. It is for temporary use, if someone wants to use your Mac and you don't want them playing with your account; its contents and settings are erased when you log out. You can not delete it, but as I said, it is quite normal that she is.

  • Not enough disk space to install HP Upgrade Bundle

    Hi all

I downloaded the 1.1 version of the HP ESXi Upgrade beam and started using vihostupdate.pl to apply it.

It is has failed with an error of e/s (28) and one is not enough space error.

The server is a HP BL495c which has HIGH HP variant of ESX4i loaded on a USB key.

What I'm trying to do, is to discover the layout / used space on the USB device. But I don't see how.

    Pointers please?

Posts have suggested/tmp is not properly defined, but at this point, I have no idea how to find out.

The vSphere CLI utility does not seem to offer the tools to watch. But then, I may have missed something.

    Thank you very much

    Rob.

You can watch the disc with the console not supported.

    ALT + F1

type not supported (without echo to screen)

at the password prompt, enter the root password.

DF h will show you to how much space is used on the disks.

ls-l/tmp will show you what is in tmp

If it is a HP usb factory installed do you know what it looks like. HP has had problems with the first versions, versions case green must be replaced.

  • What information is there a tmp file

    Hello

One of my tmp file has been detected as a threat, and my support of malware asked me to send them the file to see if it's a false positive.

Anyone know what kind of information a tmp file?  I don't want to send anything that may contain sensitive information.

The file is located in c:\Windows\Temp\, and it is named TMPxxxxx.  I have Windows XP, SP2.  Thank you very much.

It is unclear what is in a temporary file - they are usually created by a program, or a process to temporarily store information.  Some virus and malware use for themselves in the store because temporary files are often overlooked by the scanning process.  Only you can decide if you need to send this file or not - if you are not comfortable with that, then don't.

I don't know what they are. What are in?

Basically, you can delete all the .tmp files. Note, however, that
Although 102,000,000 may seem like a large number, it's actually a
small amount of disk space. These days, where you can buy a 250 GB hard
drive for about US $50, 102MB is about 2 cents worth.
