Multi camera editing workflow

Hello world

IM working on my first camera multi edit, after the shooting of a school with 4 cameras and 1 audio recorder concert. I synchronized them using plural eyes.

I also know how to change in multicam - excellent videos available on the net.

My question is, as the convert 1 HR 15 minutes, I do not want to run the multi camera monitor and change it to a full 1 hour 15 minutes, I can't do

errors. Is there a way to do this in steps without having to split the project into a number of sequences?

I know how manual edit, but obvoiusly it will take time for a 1 h 15 min run.

Thank you very much

Chris Anderson

Hang on, I thought you said that online videos have been excellent!

Do not change the blocking real-time sequences!  With the multicam sequence and the monitor, both open, you can switch between the two and use the tool rolling Edit (N) in the sequence to change the changes that you want to take sooner or later.

You can do this as many times as you like until you are happy with it.

  • Would this workflow to accelerate the multi cam editing work?

Hey, I work with a really terrible computer and use a couple of low-definition camcorders for multi-camera filming so far. The computer can do almost in front, and I am patient enough to work with her at the moment. I'm about to upgrade to HD camcorders and probably add a couple of cameras to the next bit of stems. This will certainly cause the multicamera editing grind to a halt, so I was hoping to come up with a bit of a workaround.

    Would the following work:

    1. Convert all HD streams down to low definition (including audio without decommissioning)
    2. Import and align the stream of low-def (sequence1)
    3. Run through shoot and choose the camera angles for the entire sequence (multi-cam)
    4. Replace low-def with original HD images (using the right-click-> "replace sequences... ("in the source window)
    5. export the multi-cam sequence.

It is not important that the changes between the cameras are on exactly the same frame in two sets of video - just need to they are roughly the same second.

Try your own workflow suggested for your self.

It work fine but of course its a lot of time to create the proxy files and can be cumbersome in line with their return.

Use some kind of TC in your workflow. for example, paste TC to your proxies.

  • Multi-cam editing - switch cameras

I am currently editing a multiple camera sequence, but a right click and select camera 1, camera 2, picture 3 in the Drop Down

It takes time to scroll to the bottom of the drop-down list, and pass in the source window slows down the machine a little

Is there a quicker way to switch?

Even a keyboard shortcut would be useful...

    Thank you

There are actually a multi-camera set view. You can add buttons to your monitor, the program for access to these or access the view with Shift + 0. If you click the sign icon at the bottom right of your program monitor, you can add recording and one button directly on his right to switch to the display of MC.

To turn the cameras with a shortcut, you can press the number keys 1-9, and to cut the cameras during playback you can add Ctrl modifier to these keys. You can go into control panel shortcuts shortcuts keyboard and see what multi-cam already exist, and add your own commands that are not shortcuts already assigned to them.

  • Complex issue of multi-camera editing

I have a question of several camera.

    I have the following clips:

1 video clip continues with audio

24 with audio video clips taken at different times (from different angles and close ups) catches throughout continuous clip

4-track mono mic that extend over the entire period (4 different microphones placed at various locations in the room)-they are defined as mono in the settings of the element.

1 stereo audio clip which extends over the entire period of audio recorder separate

When I create sequence multi-cam, audio-based, it does not complain and creates the element multi-cam.  However, when I put in a sequence, I have 26 audio tracks. Many of them are empty.  I have no audio at the beginning, although I see the video game.  The audio tracks I see seem to be all stereo, with his fate only one side.

Is there any special way working to combine the sequence above in a multi-came track, where I can change camera angles that I prefer and then mix the audio based on who speak - IE spend an audio 7 sources and sometimes to mix some of them at different levels?

Most of the videos I've seen does not appear to cover this level of complexity of clip, so really doesn't help.

    Any suggestions gratefully received!

    Thank you

    Dave

What I do is manually synchronize everything in a sequence, then alt - select the video (and not audio), then right-click and embed the video tracks. Then right-click on this nested track and choose Activate/multi-cam. Now I can make multicamera on photo editing, and audio tracks are intact. I mix and remix audio to my heart's content.

There are 2 drawbacks to this method, but for me they are tolerable. 1, you must get the synchronization just before you nest, otherwise it's a mess. 2, by balancing the sequence, you have to be sure to cut all the audio tracks at the same time to maintain synchronization.

  • A camera view several Clips, multi-cam Edit

    Hello everyone, in CS6...

I have three views of camera, composed of several clips.

    Camera 1 is 7 clips

    Camera 2 is 5 clips

    Camera 3 is 7 clips

Can I align them track by track and make 1 track video camera 1 video camera Track 2 2 & 3 track video camera 3?

How can I carry out mounting multi-cameras with these?

    Thank you.

You can create a sequence source multicamera and add clips afterwards. That's how I'd do.

    1. In the project Panel, select the first clip for all three angles.
    2. Right-click, choose Create Sequence of Source blocking
    3. Right-click on the Source making sequence and choose > open in the timeline
    4. When the sequence is open in the timeline panel, modify the remaining clips for their respective titles.
    5. In the multicamera target sequence, run the blocking editing session, as you would normally.

    I hope this helps.

  • Need help with multi-camera editing in first Pro CC/7.0

I use 6.0 for a while now and had to install 7.0/cc, but now I can't find where to save the changes to multi-cames.  I have aligned my clips and created a new sequence and consistent multi-cam, I do not see the multi-Cam Editor.  Help, please!

  • Multi camera editing & stuff

I'm hoping to try something new if possible.

I want to edit a sequence of camera multi registered as if it were a transmission live i.e. have "monitors" showing that the different synchronized video sources. I don't know if this is possible with Adobe (I have the master collection).

If this is not possible is it someone could advise on the best way to edit from 4-5 camera set-up (the cameras are put in place and are unmaned meetings / events).

As I write, I slip into a cople of simple questions. How to clean my hard drive of files old (my C: drive is quickly running out of space although all projects etc. should be stored on drive D :)? Is it possible to export to a similar encoded file that had been initially captured in a DV tape. A Tablet DV gives a rate of data too large to manage easily (300 Mbps) and MS DV is much smaller (3mbps) - the initial capture was a little less 40mbps.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Did not use AVCHD myself, I don't know, but what I read here you probably need to raid and divide into small pieces. the op, on the other hand, indicates that it is using 4 cameras dv. So I'm not sure that it must be a raid for this. But certainly separate readers for its media.

  • Adobe: Fix SPACEBAR cut in multi-camera editing!

    Dear Adobe,

Please fix the BUG that makes a cut of your multiple camera sequence when you press the space bar!  It is extremely annoying!

    Thank you!

    The former FCP user

    -Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

You must use Premiere Pro CS6, or earlier. We changed the behavior in first Pro CC. Now, he does not stop editing tool.

It is suggested that you make all of your cuts on the fly without hitting the Stop. Then, go back with the tool rolling Edit to make adjustments. Hope that helps.

    Thank you

  • Multi-cam edit: better format?

I recorded a set of Christmas at the Church with four cameras. Both are HDV (1080 p, 29.97), one is DSLR (1080, 29.97) and one is AVCHD (1080 p, 29.97). I have the habit of shooting with HDV and DSLR, but AVCHD is new. What is the best format I can transcode AVCHD who will mesh well with the other formats be?

If the film itself is 'bad', then the conversion will not help. If, however, you see a weird jerking/pulse/burst, it's probably because the resolution of reading is set at 1/2 instead of full. For AVCHD, this isn't a bad idea, especially if you go multicam - it probably lets you edit and keep your sanity. However, to confirm that the images are OK, set the resolution of reading in full and reading a few images or sequence; things must iron out a photo point, but you'll probably start getting a reading of stuttering. If playback remains smooth (temporally), go ahead and try to change completely.

These settings are in the preview only program; they do not affect the output one way or another.

  • Problem of sequence Source multi camera PLEASE HELP!

I merged the 3 cameras with sound using the sequence of Source create multiple cameras.  After that I merged it, I don't know why I can not select the "Multi-camera" button (which is gray) so I can choose the shot I want to use. Help, please!

You can see a good tutorial on the entire process here - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-premiere-pro-cc/multicamera-workflows-with-premiere-pro/

The help page also step by step - using Adobe Premiere Pro | Multi-cam editing workflow.  I meant step 4. Create a target multiple camera sequence.

  • Multi cam, video and audio at the same time ditto audio video"editing.

Hi everyone, I'm multi cam edit a project I have but you want to use the audio of each camera while the camera is on show, so, for example if I showed the images of the camera 1 I would hear the sound of the camera 1 and camera 2, then if I cut to camera 2 I'd like to hear the audio from camera 2 and not camera 1. Is this possible?
When I put in place a nest for a multi cam it brings the audio with the video but does not seem to use it in the camera selection.

    Can anyone help?

  • dynamic links, body cs5-> AE cs5, multi-cam sequence problem

It's strange. I'm working on an interview with two camera in Production Premium CS5. Does the standard stuff - a sequence source with both cameras, have some sex change here (synchronization of the two cameras, trim clips, etc.). Then nested in the source sequence in a multi-cam edit sequence. The multi-cam monitor allows to switch between cameras, etc.. Everything is good.

But my publisher wants to make three separate videos of this interview. So the logical thing (so I thought in any case) would be of this nest muiti-cam change when in three distinct target sequences. So I couldn't switch camera made just once and slice-' n - dice all three target sequences to videos - short ' n-sugar that make my happy Editor. For the first target (a single question and answer). The result looks good in the body, and editor-in-Chief approves. All that remains is the addition of the lower thirds.

Everything is fine until I go to export to AE via dynamic links so that I can add lower thirds and finish. What body sends to AE is not just my target sequence, but it also sends the multi-cam edit and the source sequence as well. But... he knows nothing and don't show me images of CAMA. BCAM appear not at all. Clearly, this does not work. But now I find that I can't even break the links. So I can not yet again. Sigh...

Two questions: first, how does an export a sequence multi-cam edit via dynamic organization link to AE and do appear in AE-like it does in the body? In other words, what did wrong?

Secondly, how can I recover it? Should I really delete my sequence target in the body and start over (and by extension, remove the AE project also)? No there is no way to break a dynamic link once it's done?

    Bruce Watson

    Hi Bruce,.

Jim already did you in the right direction.

    Common to follow way is:

-You create your legacy third down.

-you save. Do not export an intermediary (except your animation will not change, so you can export a file using RGB + alpha channel corresponding to your project in Pr or Avid or any editor)

If you use PR, do not export. No prproject, no middle man, it's just save.

-First, you choose file > Dynamic Link > import after effects composition.

Then, in the opened window, you access the AE project where this model is.

Choose the model, hit very well, use it like any other element of the source, IO in the source monitor or just put on a video track above your video in the timeline, like any other title.

And don't forget to read the manual of articles about dynamic linking.

They can give you a great insight to a fast and powerful workflow.

And I'm pretty sure you can always use this knowledge in CS6.

  • Where is the drop-down menu which will distribute choose me multi cam to open different cams in the program monitor?

I have a project of two cameras that I want to use the multi cam editing option.  Cannot find how to get individual cams open in the program monitor I can start cutting between them.

The key offers that option as well.

  • Sequence of multi cameras went black (mostly)

So, I edited three sequences of separate camera multi... They all was beautiful and I exported through media encoder. When I went to look at my files, one of the three was a really small size, and I noticed he was all black.

I returned to premeir pro cc and of course this multi cam seqence was all black as well (except about 3 seconds of images in the middle of two different cameras). Now when I go back to the original (except the nested multi cam) sequence that is fine so I know that the clips are always linked in PP. Also, I can make a new cam multi of the original sequence and that is very good.

I think that PP just F'd up... and unless someone can tell me how to go back in the file record history or something I'm flowing because first auto saved when I closed it last.  I'm seriously unprofitable as to why this has happened as it was fine when I went to export it... or at least almost immediately before.  Why are there 3 seconds of footage in the middle of all the sequences of black 47 min? and 3 seconds is from within a sequence of 10 minutes on the original UN nested sequence is not as if a single video file showing upwards.

OK, so more about what happened that I want to spend my life with. Any way to copy edit them the points on a new multi cam sequence?  Does anyone have ideas, what's happened I can cancel?

    Thank you

OK, so it's weird... so, the original UN nested sequence was 01:30 hours with 45 minutes of audio at the beginning unused. When I did my nested for multi cam editing sequence I selected the last 45 minutes and nested that.  Everything worked very well, but somehow during export it took my multi cam sequence and added within 45 minutes of audio virgins... so when I extended the sequence of cam multi at 01:30 there was all my videos... but my changes were all conducted on the top of the audio. Seriously stupid and certainly a bug!

Is there an any file record history that I can come back?

This looks like a bug in 7.0 that has been fixed in 7.0.1.  I recommend that you update to 7.1. In many if not most cases, the patch has corrected the problem in existing projects.

This is the main thread about the bug: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5823746#5823746#5823746.
