  Yes to install only the trial of Illustrator would use the trial to Illustrator.  If you have installed the Master Collection however then your Master Collection trial has already begun.  I advise to use the rest of your Master Collection trial at the moment.

  I read on the layer blending modes in Photoshop CS6: The Missing Manual, p.121.  They talk about setting exposure using the blending modes, and they show how to darken an image by using the following procedure.  (1) activate a layer, (2) create a mask of levels, (3) the blending mode of the layer to multiply the value.

  My impression is that blending modes change how the pixels on one level interact with the pixels on the next lower level; that is, it implies there are at least two layers of the image.  So I'm not surprised that if I have a single layer without a mask and I change the blending mode from normal to multiply, it is without effect, probably because there is no immediately lower level to allow interaction.  However, if I have a single layer and create a layer mask, then changing the blending mode from normal to multiply darken the image.  That must involve the pixels of the layer are interacting with transparent pixels on the mask.  What?

  Can someone explain what is happening in reality not here?

  Use layer blending modes, you need to the two layers less.

  As you mentioned above:

  '(1) activate a layer, (2) create a mask of levels, (3) the blending mode of the layer to multiply the value'

  step 2 means create a levels adjustment layer that comes with a default mask if you want to make local adjustments.

  in this case, if you have a layer and add an adjustment layer, it works as if you duplicate the layer.

• Layer masks, and vector masks on the same layer

  It's maybe a stupid question, but I'm unable to understand this one...

  If you make a selection on a layer and click on the button of the mask, you create a mask...

  But if you press the button mask once more, Photoshop puts a vector mask to this layer,

  right next to the layer mask.

  To be honest I couldn't do much thing with this vector mask, I've experimented with it, but I just

  cannot know, how it interacts with the layer next to her mask (if there is interaction that is).

  Can someone help me understand please?

  What is the ease of use to have a vector mask next to a layer mask on the same layer?

  An explanation with a paradigm would be nice!

  They both hide the image. One will be based pixel, other vector editable. Here's and example of round soft mask on Mona combined with a mask vector hard sharp (on top a still life by Frida!)

  your interpretation is correct: only C6500 high-end multilayer switches can accommodate ports using two Flexwan WAN (which allows to re-use adapters to port the C7200 and C7500 up to 2 PA in a flexwan) or SIP linecards with adapters SPA.

  If in most cases a T1 connection is managed by a border router that connects with a multilayer switches LAN liaison

• Help! Question of layer mask and reverse brush colors

  For days now, I was unlucky in my quest to find an answer as to why my brushes became out of whack. When I use a brush and paint on the same area, the colors are reversed in this area! Ive set brush settings by default, but the question will not let me be! Layer masks have become another issue. The white rush works but not the black. Opacity and flow is set to 100. Please help because nobody has found an answer.

  You can post a screenshot? Looks like your blending mode of the brush is put on the screen and not normal.

  Then the button Alt or Option click on the layer mask and edit > paste

• Collage of texture color to black and white in a layer mask

  Hi all

  First time poster long time lurker here.

  I'm pasting a layer of color in a layer to texturize mask a shape I've done, I've created. Whenever I have the Option + click on the layer mask and then paste the texture, it sticks in black and white instead of color, see capture below (forgive the watermark) of the screen:

  If I understand correctly, layer masks are black, white or gray. Is that they hide or show parts of the layer according to the value of your gray of the mask. They are not in color.

• How can I get my layer mask to work properly

  It is difficult to tell with what you see. But reveal is black and white is hide, with gray as the variance of the two. He would not reveal the mask, he would reveal the lower layers. I guess that what you mean, but I added it for new users of reading this thread.

  Just drag the layers in the original file in the new. The masks will come with them.

  Hello! How can I solve my problem of layer mask? I had tons of fun with masks and editing in PES 11; now all of a sudden the layer mask is funky! Instead of completely revealing a layer, it's like the faded photo. I checked my opacity, I paint on the mask and with good color and a brush, without success. I'm SO frustrated, pulling out my hair! Can anyone offer any idea please? I would be so grateful!

  If you have not tried to reset PES 11 preferences that would be the next step.

  Go in Edit > Preferences > General and click resetpreferences on the next launch, click OK

  and restart PES 11.

  

  Also, you are using a tablet or other input devices other than a mouse?

• Eraser tool does not work for the black layer mask

  I'm trying to put a black layer mask and use Eraser tool to change.  Unfortunately the Eraser tool does not.  I'm not knowingly do anything differently that I did in the past.  Recently, I did a round of software updates for CS6.  I was wondering if anyone else is experienceing this and if there is a solution?

  Verify that the in the Toolbox foreground color is set to black. (in front of when using the Brush tool)

  Press D, and then press the X key.

  And opacity and flow are 100%.

  Most people use the brush on the layer masks and you might find that works better.
