Satellite A100 - PSAA5U SP2022 sometimes turns off randomly

Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite A100-SP2022 PSAA5U-02G00G portable satellite and sometimes turns off the coast at random.
The battery and charger are OK.

I saw a bulletin saying a word on an update of the BIOS for A100 series for that matter.

The problem is: I can't find my model or my BIOS to the toshiba support site.

Thank you

Hello

I put t think that this could be linked to the BIOS
In my opinion the reason for this problem could be a high temperature.

You said that the laptop stops automatically?
Usually, this occurs if the temperature reaches a critical threshold and the laptop stops to prevent the equipment from damage

In most cases, the vents are clogged and air cannot circulate properly.

Therefore, it would be desirable to check and clean the ventilation openings with a professional air spray.
This could help them to get rid of dust and debris.

Check it out

    Hi friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE with windows visa Home Basic edition.
Now for 15-20 days I am facing a strange problem. The screen of the laptop emits a sometimes (not necessarily every time) and then when the frequency increases the display turns off automatically!
Then I must Hibernate or he put laptop to sleep to find again the screen... Seriously, I don't understand the problem.

    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Julie,.

It sounds as if something is harming your graphics driver causing the display to turn off. If the problem occurs only when you use certain applications or only started after installing a new application you may need to restore your system to a restore point before new applications have been installed. As a test, you can try to start your system in safe mode and see if the problem persists.

I also recommend that you re-install your graphics drivers to see if it improves the problem.

Other possibilities are that your graphics chip is a failure or overheating causing this problem in which case you have to return your laptop to a Service approved for the additional diagnostic agent.

My last thought is that you may have a problem with the inverter FL (the component that provides the lighting of your LCD screen). Check, when the screen turns off, if you can still see a residual image on the screen. If yes then the FL inverter is definitely at fault.

    Kind regards

  • Why do Satellite A100 screen flashes when turned off?

    Hello
I have a toshiba A100, Go 7600 Gpu, just bought there is two weeks and im very pleased with the quality and performance far :), just noticed one thing today, the room was turned off and the laptop turns off with the screen in open position, I leave it open normally when at home, I noticed that the screen flashes as fixed every 1 min in what appears to be an interval of time with or without AC connected, not a flash very bright but not easy to notice, but I'm sure the flash, so my question is should I worry about this? Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

What do you mean with the screen? The LCD internal? Maybe you didn t stop the machine itself.

  • My Satellite A200 - 1 M 7 turns off randomly

    Hello

I have a following problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 m 7 2 years: my warranty just expired and my laptop started to fade at random with a frequency about once a week. Sometimes 3 times in a row and sometimes just once.

I have no problem with turning again and then it works properly. This closure is independent on working time, sometimes, it happens just after the start as well as after a few hours of work. It happens on windows and Linux system, using my battery or not. I don't think it's overheating, as the last time it was cleaned and it doesn t go hot.
I use all advanced programs and any upgrade of the system.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    Hello

If you n t think that it is an overheating problem?
Well what could she be then? Motherboard problem? RAM problem?

    RAM can very easily check.
Download the RAM (google for some free tools) free diagnostic utility and run tests.

What about BIOS? You have the latest version? If this is not the case, the update!

But I would not exclude the overheating problem
I mean the laptop automatically stops because it s a particular physical protection.
There are sensors that monitor the temperature level and if the CPU or other parties would be too hot, the unit will stop automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.

Maybe your thermal grease which is placed between the CPU and the module dry cooling?  :| This may happen after a long period of use
In this case the thermal grease should be renewed by a technician

Ask an ASP in your country for replacement.

  • Satellite A30-414 turn off randomly

Hi, I'm new here. I own this Satellite A30-414. It works well, but it turns off randomly. I explain.

I might use it for non-stop days, it works well, but sometimes it empties and turns off. Then it always turns on the second attempt. I mean, after the stop, I turn it on, I see the MESSAGE, then it turns off again. The second time I turn it on it goes OK and starts Windows XP Pro SP3. There is no particular action, I do it turns off, it can happen any application at any time. As I said, it can stay for days, connected to the internet via wifi or lan, download P2P stuff, no problem not turn off.

I thought it was the temperature because it's warm enough, so I run it on a laptop computer have lower airflow, not at all, it turns off randomly anyway. Maybe I'm thniking more heating unsoldered some brazing under BGA chips, so it might need a redistribution of some chips, maybe the graphics chip

    Can you help me please?

    Thanx

    Hi satiropan,

    > I thought it was the temperature because it's warm enough, so I run it on a laptop computer have lower airflow, not at all, it turns off randomly anyway.
Such an external Notebook Cooler will not help you solve this problem. The internal cooling fan is designed and tested for this laptop and everything will work perfectly even on high usage. External cooling is not necessary.

It's old enough laptop model, so I imagine that a lot of dust blocking the cooling fan. Therefore, clean it with a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. The exact procedure is described here:

  • iPhone turns off randomly

    Hello

I got an iPhone 5S for about a year and a half and, for the most part, it was a great phone for me. Yesterday, it turns off randomly every few hours. It already happened, and usually stops the next day. However, it was not the case this time. All day today, it would be random and often turned off and won't turn back on unless it is plugged or I hold all the buttons. In addition, the percentages of battery were in every sense. Sometimes, when turned back on, it will be 100% even it it has low battery symbol flash before the apple logo, as it is powered. About 10 minutes, however, he turned on and says that it is 5%. I'm sitting here watching and it has not extinguished since and has charged up to 11%. I use third-party chargers. I only used a up to the earlier today, when I remembered, I got another loader (which is also a third party). So I went to that one, but I don't think it makes a difference.

It's now about 2 hours. My phone was plugged in and 100% for most of the time. No problems. Then I disconnected and had it for about 2 minutes, works great until I put my case back on. He then turns off. I was able to turn it back on, but it then immediately off again. I plugged and I can't turn it on.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem? And more importantly, a solution?

Sorry this is so long and complicated. I will answer questions about my unusual situation if it helps solve the problem.

    Thank you!

Looks like your battery is perhaps go wrong

  • Equium U400-146 begins to turn off randomly

I bought a new Toshiba Equium from PC World, and everything worked perfectly well on...

But a month later it starts then turn off randomly (that is not caused by overheating), and I have to take out it and put again to start again.

He has not been abandoned before, and the AC adapter and the battery work fine

What could be wrong? : S

Well, if Notepad starts turning off spontaneously then an overheating problem may be possible, I mean this isn't a common behavior of mobile and in my temperature only high opinion could cause something like that
In most cases the laptop automatically stops to prevent the equipment from damage

Maybe you should check if the cooling modules can work properly and if nothing prevents air circulation
Ensure that the vents are free of dust and debris and don t use the laptop in bed, couch or in places where the air circulation is not possible

  • my PC turns off randomly

I have a problem with vista. the computer just turns off randomly for no apparent reason.

the machine is a 4 year HP, and he has never done this before.

No I turn it off when I'm done and then next turn when I need it, but it just stops different lenths of the time, different applications?

It may be a heat problem, the CPU would be shut down automatically as a security measure to prevent it from overheating. To avoid it to be then you need to open the computer and blow the dust out of it and make sure all the fans run correctly.

If this isn't the case, then it might be a virus.

  • Satellite A100 - sound turns off randomly

OK, it was my fault. I lent my laptop to one of my students who tried to load a software to read a FLV file.
Since then, I had a lot of problems with my sound.

The sound would work, but when the volume is too high or often at random - the sound would cut out them and stop them.
The sound level meter shows that sound is working.
Mixer indicates that the driver is working.
But I do not hear anything from the speakers.
Only when I stop and restart the sound coming back.

I downloaded the sound driver Toshiba Real Tek recommended, but this has not solved the problem.
I completely rebooted Vista and all my software, but this has not solved the problem.

    I have a Satellite A100 PSAANC WA07
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
    BIOS Version 6.00
    RealTek Audio driver 6.0.1.5326

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

It s really strange that your problem persists after that you got the laptop.

What you could do is visit the site Web of Realtek and could attempt to reinstall the audio driver directly from Realtek page.
Before installing the new version, he recommended to remove the old driver sound system.

  • Satellite M40X-230 turns off randomly

    Hello

My satellite m40x-230 is about 2 years old. Recently, power has been cut out completely Mid-use - for example I watch a movie and suddenly everything power to cancel - it is connected through the ESA and the battery is connected when this happens. If I unplug the AC and the battery and wait a while, then ac and battery back, I can to come back on and it works very well for a while.

Can anyone suggest what the problem please?

    Thanks in advance.

Not easy to say with certainty what the problem may be but let us start with an innocuous explanation: I think that this happens due to overheating. Obviously the material temperature has reached the critical level and the laptop turns off simply without any warning.

It is because of the material. Because of this, the first step, you can do is to clean your laptop. I guess that after two years, there is a lot of dust on the inside and the air flow is blocked.

  • Equium A210-17I turn off randomly

    Hello

My laptop is a little more than two years now. Since just after Christmas there now randomly turned off itself several times. Basically the screen turns off, standby-led is orange regular and the hard drive light flashes very quickly. Even when it is plugged in, the cord and battery supply turns off lights. To re - start the computer, I have to turn the power off then remove the battery and it starts normally after that (usually propose a SafeMode as a startup option).

Sometimes the laptop was warm enough, but the last time he did not feel too (and comes to be browsing the internet). The first, some times even if I had just watched a DVD / was something the iplayer streaming and it was nice and warm. I ordered a cooling with built-in fans support where it is overheating, but it happened when on my knees too, so I'm really not block all of the fans.

I just thought that I would ask here in case the lights were any sort of way to identify the problem, or if anyone else had a similar problem. As I say it still works well most of the time and it only did about 5 or 6 times in the last month and a half, but I'm worried still cause problems and so would work it out!

    Any help much appreciated!

    Hello

If you have the replaced cooling fans, but have you also renewed the thermal grease? This should also be done sometimes and if your laptop is still 2 years old, it could be the problem of this stop randomly.
    Check this box!

Otherwise, I think that he associated material s and maybe the motherboard, CPU, or RAM is the cause but your laptop should be checked by a technician of the laptop.

  • Satellite Pro A300D heats and turns off

Satellite Pro A300D gets very hot and sometimes it turns off by itself. He did this recently.

    What could be the problem?

    Hello

Usually, the notebooks of cooling modules should be good enough to ensure that the laptop could be cooled properly.
It s not necessary to use a cooling means.

In most cases, these cooling States blow air.
This can be problematic, because internal notebooks cooling fans blow hot air too.

I think you need to make sure there is enough free space around the laptop and should not use the device in his bed, sofa or on the lap. Use the laptop on the table and I think that this should help to avoid overheating more far.
