  If you have the version of Windows 7 Ultimate, you have the Multilanguage functionality, you can use.  But it was only with the Ultimate version.  Otherwise, you will need to download the desired version and then reinstall Windows.  You can download the ISO files from

  http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/ and burn it to a DVD.  Be sure to obtain device drivers, you will need before you reinstall it.

  Thanks for posting. If a German version of XP is currently loaded on the system, and you want English, you will need to buy an English version of XP and install it on the system.

  I bought a samsung np-nc10 netbook in Turkey while he's on vacation in September 09 to access my desktop and need to change the operating system in English, now that I'm back in the States.  It came with windows xp edition em ulcpc in Turkish family.  Samsung U.S. refuses to sell me a disc of recovery in English and send back me to Samsung Türkiye.  Samsung Türkiye is unresponsive. So far, I was able to change the keyboard in English, however, it does not provide the ability to change the operating system in English so the menu and dialog boxes are all in Turkish, which makes it difficult to use the computer on a regular basis.  How can I convert the English operating system?

  You cannot convert your XP Home Turkish language for an English XP Home. Given that Samsung will not sell you an English restore disc, you will need to buy a full copy of XP Home in English. Back up your data because you will need to do a clean installation of Windows by using the product key that belongs to the English XP retail. Once installation is complete, you will need to install all the drivers and software for your laptop. You will get these drivers/software from Samsung tech support Web site for your computer model. Download them and on a USB or burned on a CD - R.

  Contact Samsung and see if they will send you an English factory restore disc. There is no way to change XP Home Edition in another language without having a full version of XP in the desired language and do a clean install. Otherwise, the machine should be returned and bought a running an English XP instead.

  Looks like you bought it with the Japanese and want to just English from top to bottom.  Probably the best thing to do is call Acer Support and see if you can pay for the DVD of restoration.  This will not only get you on English, but you'll have the right support for future use.  I hope less than a hundred dollars.

  If you want to be darring you could wipe the computer and install Windows 7 English yourself.  To do this, you must ensure that there is a COA sticker and the key on the bottom of the computer.  25 letters in five groups.  Second, you must borrow a DVD of Win7 which corresponds to the version of Windows 7 on this sticker.  Home Premium, ultimate, whatever.  Then boot from the DVD, format the computer and install Win7 English.  When asked to activate, you need to use the 25-digit key.  If that sounds scary, it take to Best Buy or store and have them do you like 50 dollars.

  If the disc does not start in English so it is always the method of trial and error, if you change the L several times and eventually you should find an option that is recognizable to the English, as if you will fall on Spanish or french for example then you find English or English, frustrating, but can be worth a try
