multiple NETWORK cards on win7

Is it possible to have two network cards on a windows machine 7 uses a connection to a VPN connection and the other to access web simultaneously. The way in which

He works the os only allows communication with the vpn connection when it is connected. I use the vpn as a secure driving between two networks and would like to be able to access a web page by using the other network adapter I have Internet conectivity when I look at the State of the network card, but

with the connected vpn it blocks all internet access until the vpn is disconnected. This behavior can be changed where I can connect to the vpn and

Use another network connection to access the internet by using the two connections at the same time?

How to configure a VM with multiple network cards to see Agent?

We can archive this requirement by configuring the subnet used view Agent.

The subnet determines which view address of Network Agent provides the server instance to connect to view for the client protocol connections. The view on VM officer has more than one NIC

    Follow the procedure below:

on a display Agent installed VM,

    * Recording of VM session.

    * RUN--> type regedit or type regedit.exe at the command prompt

    * Create a registry entry to configure the subnet.

    For example: is HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\Node Manager\subnet = n.n.n.n/m type - REG_SZ.

In this example, n.n.n.n is the TCP/IP subnet, and m is the number of bits in the subnet mask.

  • vCenter - multiple network cards

    Hello

I have a vCenter Server 4 U4 with multiple NICs for managing esxi connectivity etc. All ESXi hosts are connected via a dedicated card. For security reasons I must add one host to vCenter managed on one vlan separated / network card. Is this a supported configuration or a configuration that someone uses?

When I add the host to vCenter it disconnects after about 60 to 90 seconds. All firewall ports are open and nothing is denied, DNS works very well, as well as the ICMP between vCenter server and the host. Any ideas?

    Thank you

  • Questions about the allocation of multiple NETWORK cards in a machine virtual Windows XP Machine HOST/NAT or bridged?

    Hi all

That is the situation. We have a Machine physics WindowsXP with 5 CARDS, all with static IP. Only be connected to the internal network without physical Internet connection is used.

    Map NETWORK 1 has a 10.34.78.241/255.255.255.0 IP Gateway 10.34.78.2

Map NETWORK 2 has an IP 192.168.22.242/255.255.255.0

    Map NETWORK 3 has a 192.168.100.241/255.255.255.0 IP

Map NETWORK 4 has an IP 172.27.254.240/255.255.0.0

5 NIC has an IP 192.168.242.10/255.255.255.252

I used VMWare Converter Standalone to do a P2V PC, which works well with the latest version of VMWare Workstation. All were brought to the course successfully. The virtual machine has 5 Networksas by the XP Machine of origin.

I built a Win7 Machine with 5 physical NETWORK interface cards, I suppose to replicate the Windows original XP Machine, I need configure the static IP address of the new NICs as shown above and configure cards NETWORK the VM 5 HOST mode and use the virtual network Editor

to adapt the VMS NICS? Or is there a better way to do it?

Cheers for any help and advice that can be provided...

If I'm wrong, you should be able to create a Bridged (vmnet) network for each physical card. Make sure that one (which is created by default) is mapped to a physical NIC dedicated rather than automatic.

  • Server with multiple network cards

    Hello

I have a server with multi-port NETWORK adapter running ESXi 5.5.0

Can anyone remind me how to allocate a VM to port a network?

or point me to the URL of the full help?

    Thank you all

The c# Client is that you need to install on your windows computer. The alternative would be the Web Client vSphere. Both are essentially 'vSphere customers. "

Anyway, you don't need to restart. You can change the network as you want without having to reboot.

  • I want to know if we can add more than one network card and maximum how we can add?

Well, if I want to add a network card or two at - it a possiblity of external cards containing those integrated? If so what to do with it?

This would be only limited by the number of slots or ports for the cards.  What exactly are you trying to accomplish?  These types of configurations are generally only used on servers and, depending on what you are trying to accomplish, the use of multiple network cards usually leads to two simultaneous situations:

    1. Headaches size Texas!
    2. Size of Texas PITA!

Shortly after affected by these events of size of Texas follows a sudden want to break the computer with a hammer usually...

  • Cable connection part for good - once I started using the wireless NETWORK card!

    Hello

I went although all people in support on this issue, but now I have no other choice than to ask all you people here!

That is the problem. I have two computers with multiple network cards. One is a laptop computer with wireless Draft-N support and 10/100/1000 NIC onboard. The other is a desktop computer with an ASUS Wifi b/g edge and also dual GigE ports nVidia graphics card.

Whenever I try to use network wired for internet or local network even cards use, it died on me. It is impossible to obtain an IP address from the router to use and is unable to communicate with anyone at all. Not even with my local network or even directly to the router (192.168.1.1). If I turn on the wireless card, it connects and everything is groovy (except that I lost my GigE connection to my local network, which is most important!).

I havegone through the standard fare of cyclic power to the router and cable modem, reboot of my machines, etc. all the normal things, we are required to do.

After some hassles with the support of Linksys to get them to send me a new WRT330N, I finally received a new WRT310N and it shows exactly the same problem! Wireless connections work fine, but as soon as I disable the WiFi and wired go, Windows XP gives me nothing else than a message "limited or no connectivity" and let me out of the network.

This leads me to think it's some sort of network problem due to multiple MACs on the same host name. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

    Thank you!

Disable the firewall on the computer and then also try to connect the computer to the modem and check if the computer is able to connect.

  • Load balancer and the consolidation of NETWORK cards

    Hello

We recently had to our file VMware Server after a bit nasty failure of his original material.  Since we moved, it mostly worked OK, but we don't get the occational network shares paw when large files are thrown on.

ESXi host, sure it works use 5Gbit ethernet adapters on the same Virtual Switch.  Looking at the traffic it would seem that all traffic flows in just a single NETWORK adapter and it is not much at all through the others.  Is something that I need to set it up so that it can better load balance between network cards?  Or is it a document anywhere who recommended settings for multiple network cards?

I found a vDS topic but we have not undertaken more liciencing on most of our servers.

We run VSphere 4.1 via the Vcentre server.

    Thanks for the help.

    faster4233 wrote:

What you say makes a little more sense on what I see.  There is very little traffic flowing through other NETWORK cards, but is perhaps because there isn't any real traffic goes to them.  I thought that VMware may use multiple NICs, if it was required that is why I thought I'd see more data on the other.

Curiosity is anyway that I can combine NICs for more flow using VMware?

The load balancing, you can achieve with VMware is not a "real" load balancing, this is more a static distribution of traffic in accordance with the policy, you have chosen.

You use means that according to the virtual switch port ID the vNIC to the host is connected to a specific bear is chosen. This unique vNIC traffic will use this bear as long as this bear does not fail. In this case the guests more with vNIC, you have the better are used Teddy.

Other policies can be better for other scenarios. For example, 'Hash IP' uses the source IP address and target to choose a teddy bear. It is a good policy for a server with a vNIC single file and many different communication partners. The 'Source Port' policy route all traffic through a teddy bear so that 'Hash IP' policy would use many Teddy as not what ID port is used, but the communications partners. And a file server must have many of them, more than it has of vNIC.

  • Feature request: Advanced mode to display the MAC address of the network card

When a virtual machine has multiple network cards, and when it is not easy to get/know MAC address within o/s comments, it would be nice if there is a way of GUI for the MAC address for any individual network adapter.  I don't mind if this function is in some "advanced only user" box, as long as it is available.

I know that it is also possible to open the .vmx file for this information, but if there is a sort of GUI, why not?

Just came across this old post of mine, let me answer myself

Requested, accessible functionality in the Advanced... button, is available in the Workstation 8 and later versionsand 12 player (at least).

  • Satellite Pro L10 - wireless network card is not detected in Win7

    Hello

I have a dual boot with XP and Win7 Pro.

If I install the wireless driver from the download on XP site, no problem.

I tried the same procedure using the download wireless driver on the partition Win7 using a) driver XP b) driver Vista & c) the Vista driver in compatibility mode. Nothing worked and it is even not a yellow exclamation in Device Manager, so the wireless card point don't has not recognized at all.

    Same problem with Ubuntu Linux.

In XP, it is recognized as "INPROCOMM IPN2220 Wireless Lan Card".

    Any ideas?

The entry in Device Manager is right and so must be included in Windows XP Home edition.

  • need for server 2008r2 Pavilion p7-1000 network card driver of (tried win7 drivers N.G.)?

    Hello

I'm trying to install the server 2008r2 on the HP Pavilion p7-1000, has four cores amd 64 bit cpu, 8 GB ram, 1 TB hard drive.   For some reason I can't seem to locate the drivers for the NIC realtek.  Of course, I'm pressed and trying to accomplish something in a single day.  And many other things at the same time.  I never thought that this Server 2008 would have a problem with a common network card.

Someone has a direct link to a kind of driver that works with this?  I tried to go to the realtek, and perhaps I simply downloaded the wrong software.  But what I 'As' on their part, did not work.  I tried a "auto-install" program, but also what I THOUGHT it was the real Server 2008 drivers for the network card.

    Thanks for advice and guidance

    Hello:

Have you tried this one directly from Realtek site?  a 3rd on the list... According to this record in the series, they have 8105E card.

    3. choose a custom unique specification

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thank you

Sorry to lose this thread out of my sight.

What follows is an attempt to meet all the conditions you listed.

    $numberOfVM = 20$baseVMName = "VM"$templateName = "Template"$osCustName = "MyCust"$IPBase1 = "192.168.1."$IPBase2 = "192.168.2."$IPMask = "255.255.255.0"$IPGate1 = "192.168.1.254"$IPGate2 = "192.168.2.254"$IPDns1 = "192.168.1.100"$IPDns2 = "192.168.2.100"

    # Target resourcepool$resPool = Get-ResourcePool -Name Resources

    # Get the template$template = Get-Template -Name $templateName

    # Create a copy of the OS Customisation SpecTry {    Get-OSCustomizationSpec -Name tempOSCust |    Remove-OSCustomizationSpec -Confirm:$false -ErrorAction Stop}Catch {}

    $osCust = Get-OSCustomizationSpec -Name $osCustName | New-OSCustomizationSpec -Name tempOSCust -Type NonPersistent

    # Clone the number of requested VM1..$numberOfVm | %{ # Find the datastore with the most free space $ds = Get-Datastore | Sort-Object -Property FreeSpaceGB -Descending | Select -First 1

        # Update the OS Customisation Spec NIC parts with the IP addresses Get-OSCustomizationNicMapping -OSCustomizationSpec $osCust | Set-OSCustomizationNicMapping -Position 1 -IpMode UseStaticIP -IpAddress "$IPBase1$_" ` -SubnetMask $IPMask -DefaultGateway $IPGate1 -Dns $IPDns1 -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue | Out-Null

        Get-OSCustomizationNicMapping -OSCustomizationSpec $osCust | Set-OSCustomizationNicMapping -Position 2 -IpMode UseStaticIP -IpAddress "$IPBase2$_" ` -SubnetMask $IPMask -DefaultGateway $IPGate2 -Dns $IPDns2 -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue | Out-Null

        # Create the new VM    New-VM -Name "$baseVMName$_" -Template $template -OSCustomizationSpec $osCust `        -Datastore $ds -ResourcePool $resPool  | Out-Null}

The script will create clones of $numberOfVM of the model. The virtual machines will be created at the root of the bunch, and they will be called VM1, VM2...

The OSCustomizationSpec needs to exist and must have 2 network cards.

The script finds the data store with more free space to create each virtual computer.

Addresses IP of NIC are consecutive, for example on NIC1 you get 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2... and so on.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Impossible to activate my NETWORK card on my new Satellite C660D - 10M

    HY

My laptop (Toshiba Satellite C660D - 10M) supplied with Free-DOS. I installed WIndows 7 and all the necessary drivers from Toshiba Web site except the driver for my network card. I can't go to the Internet because of this!

    From this page: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

    I get the correct information:

    Laptop - Satellite - Satellite C - C660D - PSC0WE series - Windows 7 32 bit.

    (A) it has no CHIPSET driver for my laptop here? But I think they are merged with the DISPLAY DRIVER and I could install their own.
    (B) DRIVER LAN - after installing this driver in my DEVICE MANAGER-> network controller has an exclamation mark and is not installed.

    Check the BIOS - enabled.

Uninstalled, found my specific NETWORK card driver from realtek website. Realtek RTL8139/810 X Family Fast Ethernet. -> Installed the driver for win7, - NOTHING!

I don't know what to do next?

    Please can you help me?

You're right about driver chipset. By AMD based laptops it is integrated with the display driver.

The same LAN card has Satellite C660D PSC0UE so the right Win7 32 bit LAN driver you can find HERE. He has to work. All available drivers are put to the test.
    Please test and send feedback.

    Have you installed driver WLAN?
Make sure that the unknown device in Device Manager list is certainly related to LAN and WLAN not the card.
