Hello.. I am running windows 7... & using the NIC & respectable internal port... .becuse 1 internet for another 1 for lan... How can I use two networks at the same time? How to configure the settings? I have no ideas... pls help me?

Hi Vikram,

To provide the proper resolution, I would need more information on your side.

1. you have wireless or wired network connection?

2. is the computer connected to any Intranet environment?

LAN can be used for any type of connection.

Please provide the necessary information to help you further, I'll be happy to help you.

How to configure a VM with multiple network cards to see Agent?

We can archive this requirement by configuring the subnet used view Agent.

The subnet determines which view address of Network Agent provides the server instance to connect to view for the client protocol connections. The view on VM officer has more than one NIC

    Follow the procedure below:

on a display Agent installed VM,

    * Recording of VM session.

    * RUN--> type regedit or type regedit.exe at the command prompt

    * Create a registry entry to configure the subnet.

    For example: is HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\Node Manager\subnet = n.n.n.n/m type - REG_SZ.

In this example, n.n.n.n is the TCP/IP subnet, and m is the number of bits in the subnet mask.

  • vCenter - multiple network cards

    Hello

I have a vCenter Server 4 U4 with multiple NICs for managing esxi connectivity etc. All ESXi hosts are connected via a dedicated card. For security reasons I must add one host to vCenter managed on one vlan separated / network card. Is this a supported configuration or a configuration that someone uses?

When I add the host to vCenter it disconnects after about 60 to 90 seconds. All firewall ports are open and nothing is denied, DNS works very well, as well as the ICMP between vCenter server and the host. Any ideas?

    Thank you

  • ESXi 5 multiple networks on the same host

Is it possible to have a host with multiple (three) cards of each on a separate network?  How would you configure the network adapters in vSphere?

Welcome to the VMware forums communities.  It's not a problem seen ESXi on 3 separate networks.

By dΘfaut of ESXi installation will create a virtual switch (vSwitch0) with a management port and the Virtual Machine port group.

You'll want to create other vSwitches 2 with 2 other network cards.  Configuration > Networking tab, click Add Network.  In the Add Network Wizard you select the Virtual Machine as the Type of connection and on the next screen, you will be able to create a new vSwitch with one of the NIC ports.  You can repeat this process for the other NIC.

When you configure your virtual machines, you will select a network tag which is appropriate for the physical network you want to connect to.

Depending on your network needs you can configure things differently.  If you use a VLAN, then you can have a unique vSwitch with multiple virtual machine port groups (each linked to a specicifc VLAN).

  • Connect to multiple networks

Greetings. I have a HP 8600 all-in-one. Recently, I replaced an old router with a new router Linksys AC1900. This router is dual-band with 2 ghz and 5 ghz networks as well as a network of customers. All rooms have unique SSID. Is it possible to connect the 8600 to be seen and used by all 3 networks without having to manually change networks? I have the additional option to connect the 8600 in a USB port on the router itself if it would help. Appreciate any thoughts.

    Hi @GQuack

The 2.4 and the 5.0 are the broadcast frequency of the network, they would all have the same SSID (network name). The guest network has a different SSID and is indeed without wire. The problem is, you can't have a connected Ethernet and use wireless, so you can not connect the printer to the guest network.

I put my thinking cap and may have developed a possible work around! Where there is a will there is a way!

Instead of getting a second printer, although the wireless radio is turned off when the Ethernet connection is connected, you can use the direct wireless printers for those who use your network of comments. It's not exactly ideal, but it works. Basically, the printer has its own network, and anyone can connect to it. You can set it up to make it a secure network and give the password, or you can make an unsecured network.

How it would work: those located on the network of comments should be disconnect from the network comments and attached network printers when they want to print something. Yes, not ideal, but it's the only thing I could come up with the connection of a USB cable whenever they want to print, or purchasing a second printer.

  • Merge devices with multiple network interfaces

    Hello

Is it possible to add several interfaces to a device network, but merged into a single device?

For example, we have a lot of HP and Dell servers that have usually a network interface and an interface of management (ILO or iDRAC).

It would be useful to be able to add two interfaces while having them mapped on the same server in NMS. The network interface would show us the availability on the network and the management interface may alert us hardware problems via SNMP.

Anyone knows if this is possible, or do we need to have more than one entry for each server?

    Thanks in advance

    Ewan

    Hi Ewan,

If the INVESTIGATION period is not recognized by the operating system, we most likely would not be able to draw the individual IP addresses of the ILO or the iDRAC. You can present this as a feature request in the ideas of the community section.

    Thank you

  • My computer is connected to multiple networks which is better?

If so how?, couldn't notice anything different.
as you can see in the attached image described, I am currently connected to the internet through ethernet also with my iphone, and I can also connect a wireless usb card and get another network

Not usually, it will not normally make a difference for you.  Only the 'best' current connection will be used to load a Web site for example, if you get no increase in speed.  In addition, it opens your attack surface for piracy, so I recommend against it and simply use the connections that you need.

  • ISE Server - query of multiple networks

    Hi guys

We intend to deploy a Cisco ISE server to handle NAC for 300 users (Windows, WYSE, phones Avaya and HP printers). DHCP is running on the domain controller and the ISE interface Layer 2 visibility of all of the network segment management.

We received an additional amount for a dedicated/completely separate switch VLAN which provides unlimited Internet access. It would be connected to a third-party router connected to the Internet, allowing connections directly on the internet. Indeed, it is a completely separate network of a single VLAN and Internet access.

Is it not possible to manage the security of the ports for that VLAN from the ISE Server? If so, the server ISE would need an additional NIC configured in the VIRTUAL Internet LAN subnet?

Basically, I wonder if a single ISE server can be used to manage 2 totally independent networks. The Internet would not use AD authentication and access would have to grant manually on a case by case basis.

    Thank you very much

    M

Just to clarify, ISE has NO need to be Layer2-adjacent to clients to work. Only if you use specific profiles of the probes is this useful ever. Has no use when you perform the validation of the mac addresses or 802. 1 x.

As for your question, yes ISE can manage the addresses of mac validation by the ex. say requiring access to your 'Internet' VLAN and your internal VLANS at the same time. However, it is not made with the 'port security' switch feature, but rather by entering the mac addresses that need access to your server to ISE and using the "group" you put them in ISE, in ads a condition when the permission access to ISE.

  • multiple network connections

I am running windows 7, I live in the middle of nowhere and have a connection 3 G sprint to the internet, I also have a wifi connection to my printer I have to disconnect one adapter for the other to work is possible to get both to work at the same time?

    Hello

You want to have the 3G sprint to the internet connection and the wireless to the printer working together. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed on the computer?

    3. What is the brand and model of the device of WiFi printer?

    4. What is the model number of the 3 G sprint to the internet connection?

    5. don't you make changes to the computer?

6 were these devices work well together?

    Method 1.

You can disable the security software and firewall to see if that helps.

Turn the firewall on or off Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Warning: If you need to temporarily disable the antivirus to install other software. You must enable the antivirus as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to virus attacks.

    Method 2.

A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

  • Server with multiple network cards

    Hello

I have a server with multi-port NETWORK adapter running ESXi 5.5.0

Can anyone remind me how to allocate a VM to port a network?

or point me to the URL of the full help?

    Thank you all

The c# Client is that you need to install on your windows computer. The alternative would be the Web Client vSphere. Both are essentially 'vSphere customers. "

Anyway, you don't need to restart. You can change the network as you want without having to reboot.

  • Questions about the allocation of multiple NETWORK cards in a machine virtual Windows XP Machine HOST/NAT or bridged?

    Hi all

That is the situation. We have a Machine physics WindowsXP with 5 CARDS, all with static IP. Only be connected to the internal network without physical Internet connection is used.

    Map NETWORK 1 has a 10.34.78.241/255.255.255.0 IP Gateway 10.34.78.2

Map NETWORK 2 has an IP 192.168.22.242/255.255.255.0

    Map NETWORK 3 has a 192.168.100.241/255.255.255.0 IP

Map NETWORK 4 has an IP 172.27.254.240/255.255.0.0

5 NIC has an IP 192.168.242.10/255.255.255.252

I used VMWare Converter Standalone to do a P2V PC, which works well with the latest version of VMWare Workstation. All were brought to the course successfully. The virtual machine has 5 Networksas by the XP Machine of origin.

I built a Win7 Machine with 5 physical NETWORK interface cards, I suppose to replicate the Windows original XP Machine, I need configure the static IP address of the new NICs as shown above and configure cards NETWORK the VM 5 HOST mode and use the virtual network Editor

to adapt the VMS NICS? Or is there a better way to do it?

Cheers for any help and advice that can be provided...

If I'm wrong, you should be able to create a Bridged (vmnet) network for each physical card. Make sure that one (which is created by default) is mapped to a physical NIC dedicated rather than automatic.

  • Transition network card, multiple network interface cards?

    Hello

Just a quick question, does anyone know how I can fill more then 10 individual vm NIC to 10 Physics/loop back adapters? The reason why I ask, is that in the network editor it provides only 10 slots and no option to add more.

I had a search around but unfortunately came up with nothing.

Thanks for any info or pointers.

The host Windows don't support 10 VMnets but a Linux host supports up to 255 VMnets.

BTW, it's in the user manual.
