Multiplex redo logs and slow down the e/s

I sometimes use a San that gets saturated by a another client that I have no control over. My recovery on is newspapers the SAN and it causes all my customers to save waiting for synchronization of log file when it arrives. My overall IO is low, but customers commit frequently. In this scenario, I have no control over the San or other customer behaviours.

What I'm considering is multiplexing by newspapers of recovery more fast local disk, but leaving a member of newspaper on the SAN because these discs are less likely to fail purely and simply.

My question is how Oracle will behave during the SAN slows down - it will deal with the posting as 'fact' when the first newspaper finishes member in writing, or the last? I know that if writing an error then just Oracle will mark this member as dead, however in this case I get no errors, some delays.

Edit: I have no control over the San or its configuration as well, I just have to work around the problem, while SAN team working on it.

Write completion wil be when more destinations slow two members signals, that Scripture is complete.

Other thoughts.

For a San, I expect to be when writing reaches a battery backed cache. So think of it as no adaptation write cache can be useful.
You can increase the cache to write to your San?

Obviously writing half as much for the san that can help.

Make sure you use the SAME guidelines [http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/pdf/OOW2000_same_ppt.pdf]

Check if the problem is caused when backups are.

Check a second time SAN and SUN firmware is up to date and ensure that best practices for san are respected etc.

-I think that there is a problem for sun solaris I try to drag in the back of my mind by which a series of small writings are not well on the most massive. But Ithink that is direct attached tables and there is a workaround.

HOEP this helps, bigdelboy.

I saw a few forums suggesting removing the power and the battery and holding down the button for 30 seconds. I tried a few times and seems not to have had any effect.

  • scvhost.exe netsvcs high memory (1 GB or higher) and slows down the pc

We have seen several cases in our business where scvhost.exe - the netsvcs used a large amount of memory on computers. I understand that many services under this one. We cleaned wbem folder to see if that fixes it, but also erased the event logs and have not seen a will. What is strange, is that even on a system with 4 GB of ram, even if netsvcs uses 1.5 GB of ram and the system uses 1 GB that leaves 1.5 GB available. I do not understand why windows will slow down to so much to become sometimes unusable if it still has 1.5 GB of ram available. The processor is very well. I've had people restart and he made disappear one day, sometimes 2 or even a week before it slips back to the top. Under the resource monitor if I highlight scvhost - netsvcs on the memory tab, it does not divide which is to use it. I can go to the disk tab and highlight it and I can see which processes are slot there for what is written on the disc, don't know if this is useful, but in the diagnosis.  Any thoughts?

  • Redo logs and crash of the disk where they are stored

What happens when the disk where the redo logs are written becomes HS (e.g., a disk crash). I read somewhere that the database be shutdown. Is this right? You can ask to copy the recovery logs at 2 locations in order to improve the security of the system?

Online redo logs can and should be multiplexed, with copies on separate physical devices. The details are in the ALTER DATABASE command, found in the SQL reference Guide. Additional information can be found by going to tahiti.oracle.com, drilling until your product (without name) and version, the by using the "search" feature to find something on "restore". A lot of information in the Administrators Guide.

In addition, default Oracle will appoint the «redo_*.log» redologs ".Log" is an open invitation to ITS s to open the with a text editor or delete. After all, 'it's just the log file I named mine by the older convention of the "redo_*.rdo" just to reduce this kind of human error.

  • Satellite L850 - error of cooling and slow down the speed of the CPU even when fan to 80 c

So, I have this problem that my fan stops turning when the system is under load and then turns on, starts running at the speed of 100%, an error which says error with cooling system, laptop computer back to the service.

The fan slows even when the laptop cools completely, it only returns to normal speeds once I closed the laptop.

In the last few days, which has stopped completely. Now the fan won't even middle speeds even though the CPU temperature is 80 C. Due to the bad news of cooling time score about 70 ° C, even at idle.

The laptop is almost a year. I already had this problem after a week of buying it, and they replaced my processor. I have windows 7 x 64, amd 7670 m and 2350 m i3.

I wonder if this may be a BIOS problem or I have to take for the service? How can I stop this from happening? And Yes, my power plan is on high performance.

AFAIK the cooling fan is controlled automatically if you don t have a any influence on it. Temperature sensors are placed on the motherboard and they control the cooling fan activity. That one possibility to change fan cooling activity is to change the option in the option of cooling method (advanced power settings > Toshiba saving settings).

In my opinion the best solution for you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
They have diagnostic tools that you can check all this.

  • Windows Vista puts up-to-date makes pc and slow down the browser issues any help?

OK first turned off im not a computer genius or an irritable person. but I have two PCs, one runs windows vista that in recent years its got terribly slow with each update and in particular some of them it becomes a bit slower, I noticed. I would like to install the updates of the browser windows 7 and all this reallycan help speed that my old pc can run games online and pc itself can run faster but I need to install these make the updates. my browser and pc so slow it is literally an analysis sometimes or just stops. It does not help the games that are played in particular in the form of online browser. I'm really at a loss what to do. I completely erased the HDD and reset to factory settings that makes my pc running at a pace that is very nice but not fast enough for some games online that work 7. is there something that you have out there which can remove all glitched updates and only installs the updates that really are needed and will not clutter up my pc or do my pc slow as a snail again.  or a list of important updates only that you need just to move to 7 with duty to update ALL updates. When I deleted the hard drive at the factory, it runs great. then it is better in a few years. I don't want to end up with the same problem. again and again... or end up not being able to play my games online, because the software cannot be updated. When I tried to update my software back again once to a crawl even AFTER I had just wiped out the hard drive {not to mention I had to whipe it again to get the updates to do works back} so obviously, as I suspected it was the windows updates that are a malfunction of my pc. I have even higher speed dsl and it works like a charm on any other pc very well and runs on this pc as well when his shattered fine if not not not my net access is make my browser. I'm really at a loss here.  I hope someone out there can help publicize me updates anyone can help me and those that I should avoid because it's very frusterating. God bless you and thank you for your time. Sincerely of Becca

    Hello
Follow these methods in the order in which they appear and see if it resolves the problem.
    Method 1:
    You can check this link:
Optimize Windows Vista for better performance

    Method 2:

I suggest that do you a System Restore to the point before these updates have been installed.
    Method 3:
Once you have completed the restoration of the system, download and install updates one manually to determine which update is causing the problem to occur and if this update is not recommended or important you can refrain from their installation.

  • Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and slow down the performance of the system

Its week Tuesday I had to buy a new motherboard for my computer as a (ASUS M5A97 THE R2.0) upgrade from my old Board that was used at the time. At present, I suffer from these setbacks and problems that I don't understand completely at all on the right, or what reasons is causing my system to the right way to work. From this moment everything that I know, is installed correctly with all the appropriate drivers (x 64) are also installed for the chipset on the map, the video card (XFX Radeon HD 6770) as well and nothing else that needed to be installed at the time because the operating system running the version of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. The problem that I'm facing here is that for some reason, my system is now slowly in response to any kind of program or an application (either Internet Explorer, Windows Update). I have flashed the BIOS and there now the most recent version, and the system is upgraded to SP1. Any ideas?

Good so I found the problem. It was real HARD drive I had in my system. After you told me to do what you had posted, I started thinking and wanted to try a theory. I connect a spare hard drive I had in another computer, I like a build up of hobby. It's only 200 GB, but still more than enough. Anyway, when about and installed the operating system on it and of course I could tell a MAJOR DIFFERENCE in the overall performance!

The original HARD drive that is a Western Digital 500 GB took more than 2 1/2 hours to install completely; the Seagate 200 GB took only 20 minutes! In addition, I have much better overall system stability. So for now I'll stick with the smaller drive, until I can get a HARD drive more be my main in my system.

  • Micorsoft windows search filter host uses 3g of ram and slows down the computer to a crawl.

search filter host started running after the updates and it slowed my laptop to a crawl.   Why is it turning?  And that fact?

Running Vista on the HP hdx laptop.  RAM 4g dual-core

It is probably rebuild the search Index (maybe called something in one of the updates for this action) - Although it could do other things as well (it's hard to tell).  You can do this finish faster in general by reducing the number of file types or sites included in the Index (Start/Control / Panel / Indexing Options / Advanced)- but the file types and locations are not included in basic research (it's a compromise).  Some people say that excluding files .xml help (especially if you have a big disco).

If this does not solve the problem (or you're stuck with it running and it will not be closed) Download Process Explorer http://download.cnet.com/Process-Explorer/3000-2094_4-10223605.html and see which fits all the CPU usage - it should provide more information than Manager and helps focus in spots on the problem.

The problem may be with the updates (or one of the updates).  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started (before installing updates without doubt).  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates (but be careful, because if the issue is resolved, then one of these probably caused updates and you do not want to recreate the problem).

For more information on the updates (which seems to be the source of your problem since it was started after them installed), repost in the Windows Update Forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads where the people who specialize in updating issues will be more than happy to help you with this problem.  Try to provide them with the names of the updates and their number KB (as well as all that you have done to try to solve the problem).

    I hope this helps.

  • slow start up and slow down the stop

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my brother's computer. It's very slow when starting and very slow when it stops, also for when the computer is in use it is slow.

I defragment the hard disk, use disk cleanup and search for any virus.

I also looked in the advanced tools and performance tools, he gave me information indicating that the wmi provider host and the vaio entertainment database service caused the computer to the slow start.

IM afraid if I remove these automatically start something worse would go wrong.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi rookcpu,

Before you attempt any other measure, I suggest you try the following basic steps, these steps are worth a try:

Step 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...)  Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

Step 2: Put the computer to boot to determine which program is causing the problem

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

  • Slow down the Audio and keep beat related Sections

    Hello people,

I have a song that I would like to remix and I all set beat matching.  When I go to slow down the audio I lose my bearings.  Is there anyway that I can keep the sections that I beat matched and slow down the audio so these sections remain?

For example, that the song is 120bpm and I have this rhythm corresponded perfectly.  If I have a loop of 4 bars and slow down the audio I have more 4 perfect bars.  I want to be able to slow down the audio and still have my bars 4 faultless.

    I hope that makes sense.

I have 2 accounts directors and 1 standard account on my computer, it will slow down the speed of the computer, or if I have just 1 Administrator account it will make computer run faster

    N °

Unless you are logging in to each account and switching between them - have each user run a lot of things.  Now * that * could slow down the computer.

Otherwise, it's just - unused accounts unless you connect to them.  Again, storage space and unil you get below a few GB of free it - not no more worries.
