  Do it from iTunes directly on your computer. Connect your iPhone to your computer.
  Click on iTunes Store, can find account manage, need to scroll to the bottom of the page. Click account management, and then enter your password. Scroll down the page until you see subscription (1) and click on manage. Select student members and follow the steps to verify with your student email. It should work.

  If you wait for the new songs (in your iTunes library) to automatically synchronize to the iPod, it must be configured to use automatic synchronization (setting synchronization music ).  Select iPod in iTunes by clicking on its button on the device.  For current iTunes, the screenshot below shows top left corner my iTunes, iPod touch window circled in red.

• Programs appearing in Launchpad, which I have not installed?

  I have a new Macbook and Launchpad just checked and there are programs that I didn't download and install on the Macbook, I have them can I have downloaded on another Mac a long time ago. Programs somehow get copied to the Launchpad to one Mac to another? Are some of the programs showing Google Play Music, Box, AirDroid, I certainly have not downloaded on the Mac.

• Signal strength and range of the latest wifi routers

  I have a big house, with my router (BT home hub) in a wiring closet in a laundry room. The House is wired for ethernet and my current Wi - Fi, a Netgear WPN802, is placed at the best discreet place in the House. It is quite visible from everywhere in the House, the signal is quite low in some places.

  If I replace it with a common Netgear router, switched to AP mode, I see a significant improvement in the strength of signal and the beach? Smartphones, tablets and streaming music boxes (Sonos) are the usual wifi customers.

  In general, with one exception, hand-off is controlled by the device. On devices where the roaming aggressiveness can be adjusted, usually of the laptops and PC with Wi - Fi cards, it is sometimes possible to do hand-off low impact, but it is often neither transparent nor without interruption. I walk often so, personally, that this is not a matter of my house with my laptop streaming.

  However, smartphones often do not have adjustable settings of roaming aggressiveness, but it is precisely the devices with which we want to transfer transparent. My old iPhone 5 was terrible to homelessness at home and at work.

  If you install a second WAP in your House, don't expect transparent transfers. But, as I said, it's usually to the device.

  I talked to an exception almost, and perhaps two. One is that there is a connection Wi - Fi standard 802.11r called which rudder hand fast shipment. I don't think that any consumer connection Wi - Fi gear to implement. Two is that Ubiquiti Networks offers an exclusive feature called discount zero where several Ubiquiti APs can work together in the hand-off a device between them. It is not so good, if you have many Wi - Fi devices and need a lot of bandwidth. It is a compromise between speed and reliability.

  I would recommend that you try one of the higher end Netgears with external antennas. If you are happy with your current router and only need an AP, consider the EX7000. It is marketed as a wireless extension, but it is also usable as a wired access point. It'll be cheaper than the R7000. But if you want to improve your router, then the R7000 is an excellent choice. I have one and it covers almost my entire House, 2 storeys.

  Brief history - I always buy new CD or 2nd hand, I always use Windows Media player to convert a file to my phone. I transfer the files on my phone and never have questions, play music.

  Recently while adding a few new albums following the same process I did over and over again, when I sent the music on my phone I was aunable to play and while I could see the files of the music player on my phone woudlnt recgonise folder names, artists albums etc.

  I tried the same procedure on another android phone just to check, and the same thing happened.

  I think I have done something inadvertently with regard to the protection of the music, its nothing specific that I can find as I've added 40 albums (new and 2nd hand) falling all under this heading.

  It's the place wherever you have to look at first;  in wmp, click on "organize" and then 'options' to bring up the tab below and open the "rip music" box.

  If you check out usually in mp3 format, that is not copy-protected by default, so eventually your settings have been inadvertently changed... If you use wma, then you must ensure that the box "copy protection" is not checked. Click on apply and OK for all new parameters.

• Cannot use the feature set in windows media player for Onkyo TX - NR509 Receiver Media

  I have the Onkyo TX-NR509 and everything works fine except for streaming music from windows media player. (I can sink my iPhone to the receiver box and can even navigate to my music box cylinder head and all the Games very well).

  When I click with the right button on a song and select "play to" and then select the amplifier box "play to" appears and after a while an error message appears "cannot retrieve information about the UPnP Server media."

  My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv7 (Windows7 64-bit)

  I made a few simple troubleshooting;

  1. under Network TX-NR509 shows as a support device and I installed the drivers.

  2. I checked the options of streaming media and my receiver is set to "allowed".

  3. in WMP, I did of course "allow the remote control of my player" and "automatically allow devices to read my media" are both checked

  4 reboot the router & mobile.

  I have no idea what could be the cause and to say it's frustrating is an understatement.

  I'd appreciate any help you could offer.

  copying a file and rename it to mp3 to see if it works, but probably not.

• Calendar and Contacts icons lost blackBerry smartphones

  I upgraded the software in the last two days and has been move icons on the screen and lost icons calendar and contacts.  The contacts are still on the machine, for sure, because I can get them if I'm going to dial address book.  Not clear on the calendar, although it seems to sync properly (in outlook). Tried to reset by removing the battery, but have the same problem on the screen.  I am doing something stupid?

  I FOUND THEM!  Hidden in the 'Music' box, which I never use. There must be an easier way!

  I have a game that records your highest score on the spot. What we need to do is to take this high score of the flash file and place it in an html input box (which is separate frm the flash file, but on the same web page).

  You can use the class ExternalInterface to have a Flash file to communicate with the html page that embeds via javascript in the html page.  If you have no issue with it, a Google search using terms such as 'Tutorial AS3 ExternalInterface'-, it will produce useful results several.

• Problems with video clip inside another MC button

  Hi all
  So I solved a problem earlier thanks to this site, but she has created a different problem. I could find a way to get an external text to load into a text inside a music box. However, the problem is I want to have a series of buttons also inside the MC which will change, delivery, the text in the (loading area in the text to another file). I'm running problems, however, because I can't figure out how to get the movie clip buttons to work.
  
  A short brief on the installer. I have a master.swf that loads in splash.swf (menu animation and splash) and about.swf (a paragraph loaded when you click on 'about' in the navi bar). When about.swf opens, I got a piece of film clip and text and the submenu appear after 20 images.

  I guess what to expect, I hang on the file... OK, did you give the button the instance name 'more'? ("btn_about2") is not there in the file I have. Then, copy the following code must be IN the MC boxmovie, guess where... of 23 frame, because you cannot assign code to an object that doesn't exist or has not been instantiated, the chronology. so it should read:

  The iPad lacks a RCA type connector. You can connect from your headphones to an auxiliary, if it works with the headphone jack.

  Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  To the right, the settings screen of music from iPod, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.

  NOTE: All of the songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

  Check the box to Sync music (if it isn't already).  Below, choose the option synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below, under playlists, select (check) the playlists you want on the iPod.  You can also select other articles on other lists, as you wish.  Click Apply to sync your selection to iPod.

  Further, iTunes automatically updated the iPod with the changes made to the selected part of the iTunes music library.  For example, if you update a list of selected reading (add/remove songs), updates iTunes, the iPod with the same changes the next time you connect (or click Sync if already connected).
