MWI allocation unit

Need help on the search for ports to be used only for MWI documentation that explains the percentage of voicemail.

I read somewhere that 25% of the total ports should be assigned to MWI.

I have about 1300 users/72 voicemail ports. All are defined for the processing of appeals incoming and MWI notification. Errors in the event log that shows the collisions between entering and MWI.

Thanks in advance

Hi Allan,

Here is the reference you are looking for:

Answering calls

Check this box to designate the port to respond to calls. These calls can be incoming calls unknown callers or subscribers. As a general rule, the value answering calls on about 75 percent of the ports.

Message notification

Check this box to designate the port to notify subscribers of messages. Assign a Notification Message to the less busy ports, which are typically those with the largest number of ports for the phone system. Generally speaking, the value Message Notification Dialout MWI and TRAP connection on about 25 percent of the ports.

Dialout MWI

(not used by series or integrations SMDI)

Check this box to designate the port to turn MWIs. Assign Dialout MWI to less busy ports, which are typically those with the largest number of ports for the phone system. Generally speaking, the value Message Notification Dialout MWI and TRAP connection on about 25 percent of the ports.

  • Cluster Hyper-V CSV allocation unit size

Hello. Is there any recommendation Dell when it comes to the size of the allocation unit of the NTFS volumes that serve as CSVs (Cluster shared Volumes) in a Hyper-V cluster?

Using EQL LUN in the background apparently.

Where should we go with the default using Windows (based on the size of the volume/LUN) or should I use something different to optimize performance, for example 64 k?

CSV store virtual machines with different workloads, nothing specific, such as SQL pure or web servers, etc..

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Cluster size when you format a volume must always be 64K.   Which corresponds to the size on the spreadsheet.  Writing in complete stripes is the most effective way, it reduces the overhead of RAID.

  • 32 NTFS allocation unit size

I understand the need to align VM vmdk NTFS partitions to the limit of 64 k to match the size of array distribution - however, in the http://www.VMware.com/PDF/esx3_partition_align.PDF the document also States to set to 32 k allocation unit size - please someone can explain this to me?-what is the reason / advantage because I was under the impression that all that was necessary was partition alignment.

It is also important and adjustable, but it is not at the point of the document. It is common sense to try to adjust this to 64 k or try tunning it for better performance.

  • What is the unit allocation size that is displayed in the window to format USB?

    Original title: allocation unit size

What is the unit allocation size that is displayed in the window to format usb

    Hi Moaz,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to know the unit allocation size that is displayed in the format USB window. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I will certainly help the question of fixing.

In computer file systems, a cluster is the unit of allocation of disk space for files and directories. To reduce the load of the management of data on disk structures, the file system allocates no individual disk sectors, but contiguous groups of sectors, called clusters.

On a disk that uses 512-byte sectors, a 512-byte cluster contains one sector, whereas a 4-Kibibyte (KiB) contains eight sectors.

Refer to the below mentioned article and see if it provides information that you are looking for.

  • What is the unit of allocation best partition optimized for games and other files?

Original title: Dear lads! I'm buying a Western Digital Caviar Black 500 GB, and I intend to optimize my HARD drive

I want to tell you, what I usually use my PC, so you can help me with the allocation units, partitions and the locations of the page file.

-Use computer games for most of my quality time. I wonder, what is the unit of allocation best partition optimized for games
-I download and download a large number of files. I'll create a separate partition for this kind of data?
-I'll have access to 2 different hard disks the following day. Will I dedicate entire storage for the pagefile? (I've got GB of physical RAM)
Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions!

«Also, I would like to know, if I needed a file at all, or I could skip just use it, because I read something like: pagefile is mainly used for memory images, which I don't really need (some have suggested, you don't even need it on servers).»

When you move the pagefile to another PHYSICAL disk, you should always leave a little on C, perhaps 500 MB, for things like memory dump files. Next, you define a "system managed" pagefile on the other disk.

It never makes sense to totally eliminate the swap file and don't forget that the swap file is not a Microsoft invention designed to shoot to the top of the hard drive space. OS UNIX, Linux and Mac too, independently use the totals of RAM...

  • The unit of Allocation ASM vs Tablespace uniform extended

    Hi all

I do proof of concept on the migration of our file system based in ASM and RAC databases. The current database has tablespaces with a uniform management of measure of sizes of measure 10 M, 100 M and 512 M.

ASM, I see Oracle documentation that allocates the ASM extended based on the AU from 1 MB. After the sunset of the 20,000 first to what extent, the size of the measure becomes 8 * for then 20000 sets of measure. The increment for a measure of ASM is 64 * AU.

So my question is that how can I have some tablespaces with uniform measurement volume of say 100 M on ASM? If so, will be a more detailed breakdown ASM sizes measure to its default size of AU?

Appreciate the answers on this one!

    Kind regards
    Naren

    Hello
Please don't mix as oracle with the concepts of data scopes used here, see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b31107/ostmg_gloss.htm#BABFCABI

I guess you know about the concepts of the tablespace extents (you can have one size car or also different size). Here are the intra-space management tablespace. For extensions of data described here, you can compare it with BONE block in normal filesystem, and each award using the ASM consists of one or more data extensions (not extensions of tablespace).

So my question is that how can I have some tablespaces with uniform measurement volume of say 100 M on ASM? If so, will be a more detailed breakdown ASM sizes measure to its default size of AU?

IKE just as you can use the same size of extents for tablespace of 100 MB on a filesystem regular of the BONE 512 bytes block or 2 k or 4 k (or other). In this case, your database will want to write to allocate an extent of 100 MB and then ASM will take over the responsibility than the way in which it will physically store this measure 100 MB on disk group by spreading the Allocation unit. If your this measure when this group of disks, 100 MB is required to be distributed among a number of (set of data extensions) measure 20001 and your ASM allocation unit size is 1 MB, it will allocate extent file ASM 8 * 1 size and total about 13 degrees (13 * 8 = 104 MB) so that your measure of tablespace 100 MB can be stored.

    Hello.

I'm hoping to get a product support for my new hard drive that seems to disconnect and reconnect every so often.

ScanDisk etc in respect of normal operations shows no descendants. The event viewer displays this message at the time of disconnection

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk during a paging operation.

The device is not used as a page file system drive, but this is the error that occurs when the player disconnects and then reconnects immediately.

I looked at the driver for the USB controller, released by Microsoft for Intel USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller 04/09/2015

I looked at the driver for the drive, also Microsoft published on 21/06/2006. I could not find the additional drivers or updates firmware on Toshiba support.

I have no idea and I'm computer and Internet expert for more than 20 years, take a look at my Web Site. I'm going to run another full scan surface, but the first tests show no errors.

    • No specific drivers or firmware for this device?

    Hi all!

I now run a full scan of the drive using the following under a high cmd prompt command for admin

    CHKDSK H:/f/x/r

This command locks the drive and runs a full scan as follows

Step 1: Examine the structure of the base file system...

Step 2: Review of linkage of file name...

Step 3: Review of security descriptors...

Step 4: Looking bad clusters in the data from the user file...

I think that the results to show no physical problem with the drive itself. Toshiba, or someone, are there drivers for this device, or updates Firmware for this device?

  • I can't install Windows 98

Hi just got my formatted C:. I want to install windows 98 Second edition as soon as possible. I had XP Professional and when I press on "start the computer with the cd writing"Format C:"and support it anli everything but it stops while it is to recreate the file allocation unit.» Nothing happens if I start installation of Win98.
It will start by it self to put in shape and stops at 73% and nothing more.

Please help me, I don't know I could have been deleted and re-created a partiton but I need help.

    Hello

It's not easy to say why it happens. It is possible that there is something wrong with the HARD drive. The WinXP use Win98 FAT32 and NTFS. This is a problem.
I recommend that you format the HARD drive completely before starting from the Win98 CD.
You can format the HARD disk in the BACK.
Check if, after this procedure it is possible to install the Win98 operating system.

  • : SqlServer SQL

I get the following error messages when an application sends a query:

    MSG 605, level 21, State 3, line 1
Try to look for logical page (1:224) in the 11 failed database. It belongs to allocation unit 72058253744865280 not to 72057594040287232

    What's wrong?

If DBCC CHECKDB or CHECKTABLE reports an error (which should be the Msg 2533), the page is corrupted or an incorrect page. You must restore from a backup to solve the problem. If you cannot restore from a backup, use DBCC CHECKDB repair options. To find the cause of this problem, you must use techniques as you would with other errors of corruption of database including: search for system-level or hardware problems (a tool such as SQLIOSIM may be useful to do so. SQLIOSIM is supplied with SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 and requires no separate download) make sure you have the PAGE_VERIFY = CHECKSUM database option turned on. While one can still encounter the Error Msg 605 with active checksum (E.g. "Scribbler" problem or incorrect page provided by the IO system), allowing the checksum can provide irrefutable proof that the page has been changed incorrectly in the IO system. try to restore a backup of the database that you know who won't be 'clean' (CHECKDB errors) and backups of the transaction log that you cover the time when the error was encountered. If you can "replay" this problem of restoring a backup of database 'clean' and the transaction will connect then contact Microsoft Technical Support for assistance.

I have PSU8CE 18 p Satellite U500 with preinstalled Windows7 Home Premium x 64 with 4 GB RAM. When I start mode safe then memory not sunk. When I start it in Normal mode then nonpaged kernel memory develops up to 3011 MB (~ 4 days running).

Memory leaks are a common error in programming.
leak memory occurs when a computer program consumes memory, but is unable to release it in the operating system.

In your case, it would be necessary to know what application or process that runs in the background do
This can be very long process you would need to install a system of fees will need to check the memory leak after each installation of driver or another application

  • Remove the recovery drive and drive C on the internal drive of 2 2nd

I installed a Kingston 120 GB SVP200S37A / 120G on my HP Pavilion dv7t-1000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC with Windows 7 Professional.

I took the cable USB and case provided with my package and plugged my old hard drive of 320 GB.

Installed the SSDNow v + Series software and installed it.  At this point, I was happy to see my new Kingston 120 GB SSD and unplugged my old hard drive.

Last week, I installed my old hard drive to 320 GB in my laptop.

My current SSD is the C drive and disc HP_Recovery (D).

My old drive is Local Disk F and Local Disk G.  Can I do this in a single drive?

Is it possible for me to remove the HP_Recovery (D) drive then put it on to my second drive?

    Hello

Unfortunately, the second Bay of your laptop drive isn't bootable - this is true for all of the dv7 series, so spend the recovery Partition of your SSD HARD disk will cause any recovery attempt fails.  If you want to use a player of the second span, it can only be used for extra storage.

To make the drive in the second span in a single volume, you must do the following - keep in mind that this will destroy all data on the disk.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.

For all volumes shown on the Second disk, right-click each in turn and select "delete the Volume.  When you are finished, you should have just "unallocated space indicated.  Click on this and select Format to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once this done, your disk should now appear as a single volume when you look under the computer.

    Hello

You may need to format the new HARD drive - try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.  Right-click on your new HARD drive and select Format to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label, so if you're happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.
