My ati radeon 5470 g42-361tx freezes video

Straigth to the point, as shown above, I got the screen freezes (system hang) whenever I try to play a video (if a file or a dvd video) on windows media player.

Windows reset the radeon whenever it happened, but I could not play a video every time.

below I include the file generated by win7 when it crashes.

My portable xml and dmp data when it crashes

I use Windows 7 64-bit. Therefore, I have to downgrade (new installation) on same XP Pro 32 bit and Windows 7 32 bit, but it happened every time. I've already upgraded to new BIOS, driver ATI also. But it won't just get it fixed.

I suspect that the driver in conflict with the device (not at all compatible?).

I tried everything I could get my hands, but now I've left mouth gaping. Please any advice is appreciated. Thank you

I guess I'm a little confused and did not bother to check on the update of drivers before posting.

I had the problem since last January 2011, after all this time, HP had put more recent BIOS update on Feb 2011.

The link for Win7 is here.

So my problem is solved. If all goes well for everyone puzzled like me .

Admin, please report this post as solved. Thank you.

  • ATI radeon xpress 200 - a1350n - AmberineM-GL6E - share more memory video

Hi guys my question is easy to explain... I guess the title says it all...

    .....

I have an old PC HP a1350n that came from the factory with a card mother AmberineM-GL6E and ATI Radeon Xpress 200 as integrated video card.

    Well, my problem here.

    Like I said:

HP Pavilion Media Center a1350n desktop PC

    AmberineM-GL6E< i="" guess="" is="" from="" asus="" i'm="" not="">

    BIOS version: 3.01< i="" remember="" that="" was="" the="" original="" verios="" of="" the="" bios="" before="" i="" upgraded="" to="">

    Video integrate Chip: ATI Radeon Xpress 200< actualy="" is="" at="" 64="" of="" memory="" shared="" with="" 1gb="">

My problem is that now my PC has 2 GB of installed ram (2x1GB) and always has 64 MB shared memory...

Before I updated the bios to 3.15 the option in the Bios that allows you to change the size of the memory could be changed, but now after the upgrade is not possible and with grey letters.

    How can I fix?

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=bph04502#N296

It is a link that explains some of what I try to explain...

Also... I have the same problem with another PC (a1450n), but this came with an nvidia chip...

... so no idea what can do? to share more memory for the video chip?

Or should I get the BIOS? (where can I faund drop to do?)

    Note:

I forgot to say, that in version 3.01, I could share to 256 MB and which was then my PC have had only 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512) which, in the case of the a1350n with radeon express 200

But in the case of a1450n, I got 126MB with 512 MB of RAM (2 x 256) even at 3.01 version 3.11 BIOS... but now I can't do that... also the option disappeared o.0? WT@$%# !!!

Unless you saved the BIOS ROM file before you upgrade maybe isn't you luck. Since you ask about it, you have not.

The original BIOS is not available on the web portal of support for such an old desktop PC.

You can, if you are willing to take the risk, go on the forums of mod BIOS to get a utility that can return this function to your option of the BIOS screen.  Forums Mod BIOS should have what you need.

  • HP 6005 Pro SFF: Replace video card ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics upgrade for HP 6005 Pro SFF

I have a HP 6005 Pro SFF with a 240W PS, and I want to upgrade the video card.  It has an ATI Radeon HD 4200.    An HP Forum person (Paul Tikkanen) recommended an upgrade for a 6005 using a video card optional for the HP 6200 Pro SFF:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814121439&cm_re=hd_6450-_-14-121-439-_-product

Please confirm it also works for the 6005.  If I replace it, can I actually remove the Radeon 4200 and replace it directly at the space of the same card mother slot to save space of PCI Expansion slot, or do I use the expansion PCI Express 16 x slot?   If so, is the procedure for the direct replacement documented anywhere?

    Hello:

The ATI Radeon HD 4200 Video on your PC is the graphics chip integrated according to page 14 of the quickspecs at the link below. In other words, the graphics card is a chip that is soldered to the motherboard.  It is not in an expansion slot.

    http://static.highspeedbackbone.NET/PDF/HP%20Compaq%206005%20PRO%20Business%20pc%20Quick%20Specs.PDF

The dedicated PCI express x 16 slot should be empty now, and this is where you install the card I have recommended.

I don't see why the HD 6450 work.  It works in the dc7800, dc7900, Pro 6000, 6200 pro, 8000 Elite, Elite 8100 and 8200 Elite business desktop PC.

You just need to make sure that uninstall you the HD 4200 graphics card and the driver in Device Manager.  Also check the uninstalling the driver box.

Also uninstall catalyst control center software in the Add/Remove programs in the control panel section, stop and disconnect the PC, install your new video card and the driver for the 6450.

Here is the link to the service manual. See Chapter 2 pp 20-25 for the installation procedures card expansion, paying special attention to the info of PCIe x 16 slot.

  • XC-605 and ATI RADEON HD 3450 PCIe x 16 DMS - 59 S-VIDEO 256 MB low pr

    Hey people,

I recently bought a XC605 and tried to install a PCIe ATI RADEON HD 3450 graphics card. Unfortunately it does not work. I already read a few items here in the forum, but they do not solve my problem. The card works fine in other machines. I also tried the card with a different (higher) power in the XC605, the problem remains the same.

The problem is that if the system starts with the new installed card, I don't get no video on any location VGA. I already checked the BIOS twice, but there is no switch, which could solve the problem.

    Any help is appreciated.

    See you soon,.

I just fixed the problem. An update of the bios was necessary.

  • Black Screen HP G62-b16st and ati radeon hd 5470

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop (Hp g62 - b16st) I use this laptop for 2011 and I didn't have any complain so far, but 3 days ago when I played PES 2013 he suddenly restarted then blue screen name appeared. I did some research on google about this problem and I see no useful solution. My problem is on Ati Radeon Hd 5470. When I switch to Ati Radeon I see just black screen and if I don't disable it in safe mode it keep black screen display. I tried everything to fix it, but nothing happened.  I hope you can help me because I couldn't find the solution by myself.

Hi uAunknown, welcome to the Forums of HP. I hope that the blue screen and screen black behavior you are experiencing is pilot-related and not related material.  First restore the original graphics drivers (Intel & AMD) using this method: use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

Then, download and install the drivers updated here:

  • Windows 7, 32 bit, ATI Radeon 7200 Series video card driver.

Browsing from Windows XP 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit on my ATI Radeon 7200 video card went from 1280 x 1024 to 1024 x 768. I examined the drivers on each system and found that under XP, I had a Radeon driver, but in Windows 7, it is a Microsoft driver. Anyone find a Windows 7, driver Radeon 7200 32-bit which runs at 1280 x 1024?

    Thanks, Tod

I think you'll be out of luck with this card. ATI has not yet develop drivers for Vista for the 7200.

I'm having a problem with a brand HP ATI Radeon HD 7450 part number 672459-001. When I plug a cable HDMI card put the monitor in standby. And when I unplug cable HDMI, the screen stays off until I restart the computer. The HDMI cable needs to be connected to anything in this case. It makes me batty to be honest

I do not work for HP.
I am a computer technician and a passion for computing with more than 32 years of computer repair and networking experience

Never mind, figured it out. It is the HDMI2av converter. The converter might work power HDMI port or a separate power connection. The card is not enough voltage to run it. Then when I plugged it without external power supply it would draw so much tension that he caused the GPU to lock up.

  • Pavilion p6267c: upgrading the video card ATI Radeon HP x 64 on hp pavilion p6267c after upgrade from Windows 10

Improved my p6267c HDMI (with factory-installed ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card) to Win 7 winning 10 and lost some display resolution.  Had to move to resolution of 1920 x 1080 (recommended setting for my HP 2509 m monitor) up to 1680 x 1050 to maximize the size of the rear screen, to what she was using Win 7.  Now the screen's size, but the text is a bit fuzzy and just not as strong as before.  I've updated the driver to the most recent available for this old 2009 ATI card: 8.970.100.9001 which is the latest ATI and Microsoft for this card running Windows 10.  I tried the support hp and google for a replacement graphics card that will work in this office with its 300 Watt power supply.  I will modernize the card and power if necessary to refine the text I get now.   I'm not a gamer, so did not need graphics high power.  I can't believe there is not an answer out there for someone who has experienced the same problem.  Although I love Windows 10, I even considered back to Win 7.

PROBLEM SOLVED!   I took your suggestion and actually found a good deal on a different graphics card to replace the ati radeon HD 4350. BestBuy.com, I found a highly rated card that users have reported similar problems of fixed resolution after the 10th Winidows upgrade.  The map was available on sale for $40.99 (Orig 59.99).  It was available in my local store for 43.99, but they it ot me for the price online.  I am now running my monitor of 2509 m hp at 1920 x 1080 resolution recommended and everything's fine.  Here is the link for the nvidia GEOFORCE 610 GT 1024 MB DDR3 (model VCGGT610XPB) card:

The provided Driver CD is not working, but the website www.pny.com gave a newer driver for Windows 10 (64-bit).

  • A Dell U2414H can work with a mac Pro 3.1 (10.9.5) and an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT?

    Hello

Here's my dilemma. I recently bought a Dell U2414 as a 2nd monitor to replace my old 2407FWP Dell (has died) with the understanding that the new monitor would work (via a DVI to mini displayport cable). I bought a high quality 3rd party DVI to mini display port cable. Obviously, the monitor does not. I can't get a direct Dell response if this will never work. My hunch is the graphics card can not simply to manage this monitor and it won't work with my system.

FYI: I also have an old DELL G2210 (resolution: 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz) on the other DVI port. So I'll still need a DVI port.

Here are the current video card info:

ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT: VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Here is my Mac info (on 10.9.5):

Model name: Mac Pro (early 2008)

    Model identifier: MacPro3, 1

Processor name: Intel Quad - Core Xeon

    Processor speed: 2.8 GHz

    16 GB OF RAM

Firstly: If someone can give an answer as to if the monitor works with this graphics card, just to settle this matter and move?

Second, assuming that no, my choice appears to be:

    1. return the screen and try to find another 24 "that will work with the original map (someone there suggestions for what is currently still deployed that would work with such an old graphics card?)
    2. upgrade the map so it can handle the new monitor but still run the old.

I chatted with OWC on this subject and they suggested 2 possible upgrade cards but they will not be returned since they could not guarantee that they will work with this monitor there is a risk.

Dell has been pretty useless (I have no one said yes, the other doesn't).

Here are some suggestions from OWC (see below). Can someone comment and tell me if or the other will definitely work or offer another solution? I would really appreciate it!

    ATI Radeon HD 4870

Or more likely: ATI Radeon HD 5870

    https://eShop.MacSales.com/item/Apple/MC743ZMA/

I know there are more expensive options (Saphire?), but I don't want to spend $500 for a graphics card on a 8 year old computer.

    Thank you!

    Best,

    Joel

This is a screen with a displayPort, a DisplayPort outside and a Mini DisplayPort connector, in 1920 by 1080 max resolution.

You are WAY overthinking this. A mini DisplayPort to mini DisplayPort or a Mini DisplayPort to [size] DisplayPort should do all the work for about US$ 10, no conversion.

You don't need another card unless your is dead.

  • problems with ati radeon x 600 in dc7600

    Hi-
Newbie here... I just installed a X 600/256 MB card pcie ATI Radeon in the HP dc7600 SFF and getting white 4-5 screen when starting with Windows XP.

She also stopped twice in the past two weeks as the card has been installed. No problem with integrated graphics.

My question is: I have loaded which, in my view, are the correct drivers from this site and the AMD/ATI site. Could someone please tell me / link me to drivers. Some do not list even the X 600 just X 550 / X 1050. No use gamming or heavy on this machine. ¿¿Would I better too just stick with the integrated graphics card?

    Thank you

    Hello

I suggest to remove the card, reinstall the drivers for the integrated graphics card and using the onboard graphics for a week as a test.

If the white screen start and stops disappear then you have found the culprit.

If you do not need higher resolution graphics, you are definitely better with the embedded video solution. I suggest using the original drivers.

  • Drivers XP for Satellite P305D-S8828, ATI Radeon 3100

    Hello

I just installed XP SP3 instead of Vista on my Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8828. But now, my problem is that I can't find a driver for the video card Ati Radeon 3100. I searched Toshiba Download Center, ati download center and I googled for a few hours, but without result.

Any idea where I could get the driver?

    Thans,
    Dan.

    Hello

AFAIK that ATI Radeon 3100 graphics card was also installed in other laptops.

For example, the card has been installed in this European series from Toshiba:

    Satellite L300D PSLC8E
    Satellite L300D PSLE8E
    Satellite Pro A300D PSAK9E
    Satellite Pro L300D PSLC9E

Check the laptop series above and maybe you will find an XP driver.

  • Satellite Pro A60: Can I put the graphics card ATI Radeon 7000

I have an A60 Satellite with the Mobility Radeon 7000 Graphics Pro. I play world of Warcraft, but it won't work on the laptop, because this graphical configuration is not supported. Is is possible to upgrade to a better?

I was told that it is not possible because the chip is attached to the motherboard.

    Or Nick

Unfortunately, the graphics card laptop cannot be upgraded. It is simply not possible due to the architecture of the laptop. Laptops are just different and you should know that only a few parts such as the memory or HARD drive are extensible.

You can try to use a card external chart like this for example:
    http://www.Engadget.com/2006/07/28/ATI-to-release-power-hungry-external-video-card/

But I m not sure if it s really an option.
