Where is my VMWare

My attempts to run VMWare player v4 ends by, "VMWare player cannot be installed on this computer. VMWare player requires not on your CPU. "See the notes product for hardware and software configurations specific.  VMWare player v4 has been previously on my computer which, for about a month, has not if used causes of unemployed in the city. When I went to use the PARALLEL machine, it wasn't there. I went to the website and charge VMWare player v4 and tools for this. The above message appears with a reading of Kael'thas window, it of a FLP file and needs internet to find a site to open it. I downloaded Free File Viewer that gave no results. I'd be happier than a pig in the cool mud to fix this problem. Thank you for any assistance.

Looks like a BIOS setting may have changed (in terms of virtualization).

Unlikely a Windows problem.

Uninstall VMware Player.  Restart the computer.  Download the latest version of VMware Player (save to your computer) and install it.  Restart the computer.  Try to run it.

I deleted an earlier version of Acrobat Pro from my computer. Still, I get the same message.

    Hi John,.

Please specify if you have purchased DC Acrobat or Acrobat 11 or upgrade you to the latest patch for Acrobat 11, that is to say 11.0.11 so that we can help you accordingly.

I wonder if you have checked your system requirements before you download Acrobat.

I would also ask to share with you the screenshot of the error message with us.

You could probably uninstall Acrobat using cleaning tool. Here is the link for the same thing.

  • Problems with error Windows Media Player, that Windows Media Player is not installed on the computer.

We have a computer that is running Windows 7 and (I think) Windows Media Player 12.  When I start ==> all programs ==> windows media player, the program starts and it seems to work.  It is a work computer, so no video or audio file is saved.

We have an online seminar that the user wants to participate in, and when we click on the link to get the webinar, an error message appears saying that Windows Media Player is not installed on the computer.

We use Firefox (version reasonably updated, but do not know which) for internet.

I used the "fix it" tool on the website of Microsoft, but that does not solve anything.  He said it sets some configuration settings.  I thought that maybe uninstall and reinstall it can work, but I can't understand completely uninstall because it isn't in my list of programs in the control panel.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

    Nolan

    (Moved to programs)

Uninstall and reinstall could be done by searching for and opening the option "turn on or off Windows features", but I don't think it will help.

Instead, what you need is a Windows Media Player plugin for your browser (Firefox).

But before you spend effort on it, I would test to see if it's really the solution.  Try to join your webinar with Internet Explorer (where the WMP plugin is built).  If it works, you can be reasonably sure to know how to make it work with Firefox.

  • Some CDs that work perfectly well in a CD player, cannot be read by my computer, while other CDs work perfectly fine. Why? How can I solve?

Why did make some CD work perfectly fine in my computer and others that work perfectly well in a CD player, no? It's frustrating. I'm trying to import using iTunes. The computer just tells me to insert a CD. All the answers?

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. do you have a third-party software installed on the computer of engraving?

I suggest you to insert the CD in a different computer and check.

    Method 1:
    a. remove the CD/DVD media and check for scratches, cracks, or stains that can make the CD/DVD hard to read, so the support is scratched or cracked, you must enter a filter replacement.

    b. If the DVD is dirty or stained, clean the CD/DVD with hot water and a soft cloth.

    c. ensure that the DVD is clean and completely dry before re - insert in the CD/DVD drive.

    d. restart the computer and press a key when you are prompted, and start the installation.
    Method 2:
Run the Fixit described in the article:

    Method 3:

Perform the steps described in the article:
When you insert a CD or a DVD, Windows Vista may not recognize the disc

Had this problem several times. Only way I got it to work was to turn off the virtual machine and power it back on.

  • Running VMware Kickstart scripts fail

I have a Linux virtual machine vmware workstation I use to run scripts to set up a USB drive as bootable vmware installation media. This works as expected.

When I do the same thing via a c# Windows forms project, the startup scripts specified to Setup vmware seems to fail. The newspapers that I'm supposed to recover via KS. CFG get never recovered, % firstboot always runs on every boot and no orders in KS. CFG never get through. Everything else works. VMWare Setup is started through Syslinux, it seems to install, /var/log/weasel.log brings nothing new. I am of ideas what could have been a lot of troubleshooting. Anyone here have any suggestions on where I should look or why running startup scripts to fail? I added sleep 30 after firstboot directive % one before running the command to restart at the end of the % firstboot section.

I did two things to solve this problem. I do not know why the error occurred creating the installation program in an environment and not in the other, but here is what fixed it:

    1. in KS.cfg:

    If [d ' / vmfs/volumes/NO NAME / "]; then

    USBDIRECTORY = ' / vmfs/volumes/NO NAME. "

    on the other

    USBDIRECTORY = ' / vmfs/volumes/CONFIG ".

    FI

ECHO "decided to use $USBDIRECTORY as the path to the USB device" > $LOG 2 > $LOG

The first startup script seems to fail or something similar when he is unable to carry out activities against files that should have been established of usb in the post installation script. The FAT16 partition that the post installation script is supposed to have access is supposed to be named CONFIG, but sometimes esxi maps up as NO NAME. In order to get the correct path based on name or NO NAME, I check it and store it in a variable. It is enough for the post installation and first boot scripts do what they are supposed to.

    2. at the end of the first startup script, I got this:

    echo "#Host configuration made! Restart... "> $FIRSTBOOTLOG 2 > $FIRSTBOOTLOG

    sleep 30

    reboot - n f > $FIRSTBOOTLOG 2 > $FIRSTBOOTLOG

It is now changed to sleep 180 seconds instead of 30, to ensure that all processes are made regardless of the esxi do what they are doing before starting.

I'm not sure of everything that happens in the background that it affects, but it seems to do the trick and fix my problem.

  • How to run VMWare workstation as a service?

    Hello

I installed VMware Workstation 7 (latest version) and created a virtual machine. The problem is that once I have disconnected the host, the virtual machine stops!

Is there a setting to prevent this? It should be able to run VMWare Workstation as a service.

    Thank you

    M.R.

Running a process that wasn't supposed to be run as a service was taken over ad nauseam on Internet Google is your friend.

Although it is possible to start the process as a service, however unless you use a program that can well handle the cessation of treatment and or restart the messages from the host and transmit them to the virtual machine, then it does not really work as a true service since it will not be the appropriate communication channels to activate the Virtual Machine to make a correct and controlled stop when the host is restarted or shutdown and that can damage the Virtual Machine.  If you plan to run a VM as a Service under VMware Workstation then I offer so you have good backups (which we should have anyway) and make sure you have access to working distance before running it as a service you can do a controlled stop on the VM before the reboot or shutdown of the host if you have not a utility appropriate to deal with it properly and safely.

Another option is to use VMware Server, but keep in mind it seems to be the end of life and not maintained more.

    Thanks, Mike

This does not happen with newly released patches.

If you are not ready to upgrade the latest patches of the ESX host, you can also try to force load modules or try to recompile all modules by using the command "" vmware-config - tools.pl - compile ".

The other (crude) way is to get the last iso linux tools of any other host ESX-4 (with the latest patches) and goes up on the virtual machine and proceed with the installation.

  • Manage/create/change RAID running VMware host without rebooting.

    Hello

I want to know if it is possible to manage the (changing) configuration of Dell RAID controller on the host running VMware.

For example if I add a few discs for DAS shelves storage connected to the H800 controller, I need to set up the RAID on these new disks and add the new data store in vCenter without rebooting the machine.

    Is this possible?

    My config:

Dell PowerEdge R710 server with iDRAC 6 Enterprise
Storage controller internal Dell PERC H700
External storage Dell PERC H800 controller with two tablets of disc DAS
VMware 5.5 booting from SD card
vCenter 5.5 with Dell OpenManage integration Plugin 2

Thanks to the open tab Integratilon manage in vCenter, I see both controllers and all discs but cannot perform any operation.

I checked and OMIWV can monitor. You can use Openmanage Server Administrator to create new arrays from a distance. If the installation requires a reboot. http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=YCYN1&FILEID=3365343039&osCode=XI55&ProductCode=PowerEdge-T320&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=SM

    Page 37 http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/dell-opnmang-srvr-admin-v7.4_Deployment%20Guide_en-us.pdf

Alternatively, you can try using the megacli for LSI controllers to create the new Raid array without rebooting. http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/virtualization/w/wiki/7438.storage-management-of-VMware-ESXi-using-megacli
