  • How to remove the Yahoo? I followed the steps to remove the Control Panel, but the site is still there and in my toolbar.

For weeks I tried to get rid of Yahoo from my computer.  I deleted it - or so I thought - by using the option remove in the Control Panel, but Yahoo icon is still on my toolbar, and when I click on it and now I get redirected to the Yahoo site!  What should I do to get rid of this unwanted program?

    Hello

Which toolbar do you speak? Internet Explore toolbar or some other?

If it is internet explorer, the problem goes away if you run internet explore without modules, probably accessible from Start - (all the) Programs - Accessories - System Tools.

  • Satellite P100-160 BT icon appears in the Control Panel, but no BT

    Hello

I have a Satellite P100-160. I am very confused as to whether I have BT or not.

    * Reasons I thought that I had BT: *.
I thought originally I had, because in 'Control Panel', it has a Bluetooth icon, which when I press on it opens the "Bluetooth devices". I also use WiFi I thought a sign that BT has been installed and working. I also notice that in Services' there is that something called 'Toshiba Bluetooth Service' running.

    * Reasons I think that now I don't have BT: *.
However, when I press Control Panel > Bluetooth devices > Bluetooth settings, nothing happens. It's as if the button is dead. And when I try to 'Add a BT device', he finds not all devices. In addition, there is no BT listed in Device Manager.

    .....

Overall, I am very confused! I bought yesterday wireless speakers after seeing the BT icon in Control Panel (I had read that if this icon was there, I got BT), but having struggled for hours trying to get BT to work yesterday, I came to the conclusion that I don't have BT at all!

Could someone explain what it means the Bluetooth icon in the control panel? Why is there if I don't have BT? Or, the icon means I have BT but am doing something wrong?

    Thanks in advance! Very frustrated!

    David.

    > Satellite P100-160. I am very confused as to whether I have BT or not

Satellite P100-160 was NOT equipped with Bluetooth module.
But maybe the battery BT software has been installed and is why the BT icon is visible in the control panel.

Please, in the future, remove all the verbiage above when you ask for a
issue. It has nothing to do with your question. And ask your
questions in the body of the message, not in the title. The title
should be used only for a brief description of what is the question
    everything.

You say 'impossible to open certain emails', but makes the rest of your title
It sounds like you can open the e-mail message, but you cannot open
the accessories that come with them. Is this correct?

If that's right, read the following:

To open a file (if get you it as an attachment or any other)
by the way), you must have an appropriate program installed for him (be it
the program that created the file or a compatible program). So if you open attachments depends on what kind of files (the
extension, the characters after the dot at the end of the file name)
    attachments are.

If you get the files .doc or .docx, these were created by Microsoft Word
(or a compatible program) and to open them, you need Word, or
compatible program. Microsoft Office Home and Student includes Word.
You can also use OpenOffice (free software that is largely compatible
with Microsoft Office), WordPerfect, etc. Or you can download and
Install the free Microsoft Word Viewer
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3657ce88-7cfa-457a-9aec-f4f827f20cac&displaylang=en
or http://tinyurl.com/2w3s6z the viewer will allow you to read existing
files, but not create or modify them.

To open .pdf files, you need a viewer pdf and Microsoft Office Home
and student will not help you. The standard pdf viewer than most people
the use is Adobe Reader, and you can download free of charge
    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/

It is more likely that you don't have a proper file installed
that you don't have the correct association, but if a
an appropriate program is installed, just right click on any file .doc
and choose open with. Highlight and select Word, select the check box
"Always use this program...". "and click OK. It should work fine
    from then on it.
The above paragraph is how do to the files .doc and Word, but for
other types of files, replace .doc with the extension of the file type and
    Word with the appropriate program.
If you try in vain to open other types of attachments,
Please tell us what types of files they are.

  • My Windows updates do not show in the control panel

When I click on "View installed updates" under tasks in the left side panel, I get a blank window with "no update is installed on this computer". I'm sure that I installed each updates available for my operating system, and this can be verified when I search for news updates and click "update history", that is Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit. This occurs even if when I check my information system (my computer > properties) it SAIS "Windows Vista Service Pack 2. Another question which maybe related to this problem is that during these 3-4 days I been received 2-updates on several occasions; KB2676562 and KB2679255.

I appreciate any help on this issue.

    Hello

    "View installed updates" issue:

Method 1: See the following article:

Important: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Steps that might help to fix Windows Update errors and a Windows features dialog box is empty in Windows Vista:

Method 2: You can run scanning of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

For more information, you can consult the following link.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

Receivers 2-updates to update several times to issue:

    See the following article:

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Windows Update or Microsoft Update repeatedly offers the same update:

Thank you all for helping me with my problem with the updates of Windows Vista.

Finally, I was able to solve the problem by searching for a backup copy of my registry and by replacing corrupted registry by the backup.

I highly recommend to make registry backups, when it is in good working condition.

    Thank you all again
