I recommend you contact the manufacturer to get the key code.

    Hello

You don't tell us HOW you re-set up your computer.

This is how you would normally do if you can read is no longer the product key on the COA sticker on the case.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

  • Why my product key is invalid after I had my computer for 3 years?

OK, I have had my computer for 3 years. I bought my new TI, but they said that I had the opportunity to make windows XP (as they said it was windows vista). If at that time, I changed it to windows XP (it was a real disc / legal). In any case, the problem now... I accidentally hit my computer and I stop three times dramatically by pressing right on the power supply. I think that this caused a huge problem, because when I turned it back on, I got a screen that asked my product key. It was already written in the box (it was the correct product key) However, it sucked! I then called on the phone and they said that my ID code was not valid/there was a problem. And now my computer says I need to activate windows, but I can't! Y at - it another option for me?

    * I also installed a new graphics card in my computer, but it was about 3 weeks ago and I have not had any problems with him.

The key used here is NOT a given by MS - it's an OEM_SLP key, which can be activated by the presence of the markers suitable BIOS SLIC table.

You must enter the correct key that comes with the XP disk - using the product key update tool.

  • Have PC, hard drive, is gone wrong, need to reload Windows XP Home edition, have CD, but have the product key on PC that he had instructed. Is there a way I can download it again?

I have a PC Emachine that I bought with Windows XP Home Edition loaded on it, hard drive went bad and had to be replaced, I don't have a CD to reload my Windows, still have the product key sticker on the PC to save it. Is there a way I can download it? I have XP Pro on another PC, thought I could load and use the product key for my original PC, but who doesn't. Any ideas on what I can do

Borrow an OEM Windows CD (it must be OEM) and install it using your product key. (You can make a copy of it for your future use - this isn't the CD you pay because it's the product key). A generic OEM CD maybe not some or all the drivers you need you would be safe to download from the website of the provider first.

  • Invalid product key, trying to fix 'R' a XP Home system existing, NOT via the Recovery Console.

I have a Compaq PC (with pre-installed software) Ms XP Home installation disc has been provided, no recovery disk was created by the former owner. (My son). It hangs when booting with a blank screen; all the time he would do it has auto logon.
I have a MS XP Home Upgrade disk w/SP2, I am using to fix this PC.   I had already used 'Keyfinder' to save the product key when the PC worked. The PC also has a Microsoft product key sticker on your box.   I get an error msg "Invalid Key" of these TWO product keys.

The key that is on the case is specific to the version of winxp from compaq.
The key finder will find the volume license key used when compaq has created the image, it is not valid to reinstall everything.

You can install only clean using your disc upgrade, as well as its key, and for that you need a release candidate of victory to upgrade

  • Upgraded to WIN 7 can reinstall vista with a new product key the use of dual boot even reinstall disk and computer

OK, so I've upgraded windows vista to windows 7 and now I want to reinstall vista as a dual boot. I understand that my vista OEM license is now linked to the 7 upgrade, but if I buy a new vista product key can I still use the vista reinstallation disc came with my Dell laptop. I do not know because the drive is a Dell reinstall the drive, but it is on the same computer. The disk is bound to the OEM key or a different key will activate again with her.

Dell drive is related to the OEM license and, normally, the motherboard.

If you want to dual-boot, you will need to buy a separate FULL Vista / / license-product disk key.

    It comes as a Package

  • The product key on the money side of my laptop is striped, and I can't distinguish between two numbers. Help, please.

Hello. I would like to reinstall Windows Vista on my laptop. Previously, I formatted the HARD drive to install another OS. But now, I would like to go back to Windows. The problem is that two of the 25 numbers on the sticker of the product keys have become illegible due to wear. I know I could install Vista and try different numbers to see if I understand correctly, but there could be many combinations. And with each installation OS taking over 45 minutes, this could be a long process. Is there something I can do? I have the other 23 numbers!

    Thank you

    Hello

All you can do now is to ask the manufacturer of the laptop to send you a set of recovery disc for your model computer reinstall the operating system to how it was when new.

Also while you are in contact with them, if you never receviced a reinstall to purchase drive, ask them how to make the recovery discs to do the same thing, if you still have access to the recovery partition.

And also how to access the recovery Partition.

None of these methods of resettlement requires normally allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

  • Can I use a legitimate DVD Win7 product key to activate the operating system already installed?

I used a DVD Windows 7 Home Premium I bought from Amazon to install on 2 computers, THEN discovered the 2nd computer would not accept the product key.  I don't want to reinstall the OS and I can't seem to find a place online legitimately sell just a product key, so if I buy another DVD on Amazon, the product key that comes with it will allow the existing installation to activate, or do I have to spend a day or more to reload the operating system, drivers, programs, settings etc, just to stinking activation?

This information is partially incorrect. OEM System Builder licenses come with a product key.

Yes, it does not require a clean install, but because you already have Windows 7 Home Premium installed to use your retail disk, all you have to do is to change the product key, no installation required.

    Hello

I need a product key Microsoft Vista I don't have any disks or the original box and the label is unreadable,
I have the serial number of the laptop if it is of any help.

    Hello

Image of Toshiba is pre-installed on Toshiba laptops and the Windows operating system has already been activated the serial key which has been placed at the bottom of the device belongs to this preinstalled OEM version and does not work in relation to other versions of Windows

  • Re: Different Windows 7 another pro product key then press the down key

    Hi all

    Why is this?
Different product under Windows 7 pro key other then the button on the bottom of the laptop.

I used 2 different tools to recover my product key Windows 7 Pro.
I have reinstalled this once using a defined recovery DVDs. Using 2 or 3 discs, but I do not remember that I had to enter the key when I reinstalled.

I used nirsoft ProduKey. Can someone there check pls?
    Mine is a 64-bit system.
One of my friends bought a laptop with a windows system 7 at home, but the office went to black. I told her check the product key, if it is the same as the bottom of her dressing room, then maybe the seller or someone else has used its product key on another system and Microsoft has taken this key on a blacklist. I don't know, just a possibility.

I tried to check mine, but it shows me a different key. Checked with 2 tools.

    Thank you

    Hello

Laptop Toshiba computers are preinstalled with an image of Toshiba. This isn't a single Windows operating system but a pilot cotaning package, tools and additional software.
Of my knowledge, the Toshiba preinstalled image is already activated by the factory.
The same image is used for the entire series laptop and I think that's the reason why the product key of Windows 7 at the bottom of the device is different from the key used in the image.
