My computer hangs for 15-20 seconds many times throughout the day, suggestions to fix this?

It seems no matter what I do on the computer, it will freeze for 10-15 seconds at a time, then run again the OK for a bit, then gel to the top.  This happens continuously throughout the day.  Any suggestions on what could happen?  I ran checks on the computer, but all system controls came out OK.

It could be a sub-process or application that runs in the background
and taking all the CPU resources.

To find and view what could be the problem, try Process Explorer:

Once you have Process Explorer installed and running:
In the task bar, select view and check:
'Show the process tree' and the options 'display the lower pane '.
Move the cursor of your mouse over any column in the right pane and
Make a right click and check the following boxes:
"Command line" and "Version".
Then expand the process named "Explorer" (click the plus sign +)
In the left named "CPU" column, look for any high CPU usage.
Then click on the CPU column to sort processes by CPU usage %
(Highest to lowest).

You can also hover and check any spike point or up/down in the chart of the CPU.

Move the cursor of the mouse on any process,
You should see a pop-up window with some detailed info.
Then the mouse on the process using most or all the CPU %.
Then click on this process to select,
Now that it is highlighted, right click and select the options listed:
"Online search".
This should bring that out there on the web about this process.
You can also double-click any process to open a more detailed
"Properties" window

Note: some entries such as explore, System/Services and Svchost
To be expand to view details (sup process),
in this case, click on the + to the left of the entrance.

Another method when you use Process Explorer
is to double click on the graph just below the menu bar.
This will open the "System information" window, which has a larger screen
of all the three graphs. Move your mouse over any Picot in the

It seems that my computer freezes for a split second every 3 seconds approximately. Good,

    1:
Updated the chipset drivers even though it said I was with the best.

    2:
Run a SFC scan, which revealed no violations of integrity or files not repaired.

    3:
five hours and 8 infected files later, my computer is totally cleaned.

I opened the event viewer, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for. There are many changes to the machine because it began to act up, which were intended to correct the problem. I installed the Service Pack 1, then 2, scan MS Safety and new chipset.

I also ran a memory diagnostic, but all was well.

What should I look for in the event viewer? I know that the problem started in a 12 hour window. Should I save and post the logs at the time?

My hard drive makes a sound whirring for a few weeks now and when I type in emails or messages like this, the computer freezes for a few seconds. Any ideas how to fix this?

A desktop computer. Your problem could be overheating.

You must remove the side panel right and remove dirt dust bunnies fans. Also, make sure that all the fans are working. Safety switch the computer off and pull the power cable before removing the side panel. You can then move the computer backon and check that the fans are working.

Then, turn off the computer and some time for that cool. It is best to use a wrist band, which you set on the casing of the computer to you the earth before touching anything inside the envelope. You can buy one in a store of computer accessories. Static electricity can damage a motherboard if you don't take precautions.

Then, you use a small brush to remove the sheep of dust around the fan on the processor. I used an electric razor, cleaning brush. I use an Air blower to clean the power supply fan. An air Duster is also useful fopr cleaning keyboards.

Removal of the dust bunnies should reduce the noise that makes your computer. It can also reduce overheating, which can lead to errors of Blue Screen of Death.

Another way to check the hard disk to see if it is overheating is to use HD Tune 2.55 (free):

You have to scroll the page to see the freeware version.

    Hello

We have a relationship with a sizeable Decode statement including the bands up after connection of users for a period of the day. Does so at intervals of 15 minutes.

This is really useful for us because we can see volumes of people by logging into our system during the day. Here's the bohemoth that is our decode the statement:

    DECODE(Login Time,( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'00:01'),'00:15') ),'00:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'00:16'),'00:30') ),'00:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'00:31'),'00:45') ),'00:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'00:46'),'01:00') ),'01:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'01:01'),'01:15') ),'01:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'01:16'),'01:30') ),'01:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'01:31'),'01:45') ),'01:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'01:46'),'02:00') ),'02:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'02:01'),'02:15') ),'02:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'02:16'),'02:30') ),'02:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'02:31'),'02:45') ),'02:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'02:46'),'03:00') ),'03:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'03:01'),'03:15') ),'03:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'03:16'),'03:30') ),'03:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'03:31'),'03:45') ),'03:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'03:46'),'04:00') ),'04:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'04:01'),'04:15') ),'04:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'04:16'),'04:30') ),'04:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'04:31'),'04:45') ),'04:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'04:46'),'05:00') ),'05:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'05:01'),'05:15') ),'05:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'05:16'),'05:30') ),'05:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'05:31'),'05:45') ),'05:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'05:46'),'06:00') ),'06:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'06:01'),'06:15') ),'06:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'06:16'),'06:30') ),'06:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'06:31'),'06:45') ),'06:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'06:46'),'07:00') ),'07:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'07:01'),'07:15') ),'07:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'07:16'),'07:30') ),'07:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'07:31'),'07:45') ),'07:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'07:46'),'08:00') ),'08:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'08:01'),'08:15') ),'08:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'08:16'),'08:30') ),'08:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'08:31'),'08:45') ),'08:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'08:46'),'09:00') ),'09:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'09:01'),'09:15') ),'09:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'09:16'),'09:30') ),'09:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'09:31'),'09:45') ),'09:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'09:46'),'10:00') ),'10:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'10:01'),'10:15') ),'10:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'10:16'),'10:30') ),'10:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'10:31'),'10:45') ),'10:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'10:46'),'11:00') ),'11:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'11:01'),'11:15') ),'11:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'11:16'),'11:30') ),'11:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'11:31'),'11:45') ),'11:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'11:46'),'12:00') ),'12:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'12:01'),'12:15') ),'12:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'12:16'),'12:30') ),'12:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'12:31'),'12:45') ),'12:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'12:46'),'13:00') ),'13:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'13:01'),'13:15') ),'13:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'13:16'),'13:30') ),'13:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'13:31'),'13:45') ),'13:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'13:46'),'14:00') ),'14:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'14:01'),'14:15') ),'14:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'14:16'),'14:30') ),'14:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'14:31'),'14:45') ),'14:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'14:46'),'15:00') ),'15:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'15:01'),'15:15') ),'15:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'15:16'),'15:30') ),'15:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time ,'15:31'),'15:45') ),'15:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'15:46'),'16:00') ),'16:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'16:01'),'16:15') ),'16:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'16:16'),'16:30') ),'16:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'16:31'),'16:45') ),'16:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'16:46'),'17:00') ),'17:00',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'17:01'),'17:15') ),'17:15',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'17:16'),'17:30') ),'17:30',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time,'17:31'),'17:45') ),'17:45',( LEAST(GREATEST(Login Time 17:46 ') ((, 18:00 ')), 18:00 ', (LESS (LARGER (connection time, 18:01 '), 18:15 '))

Isn't beautiful! I just wanted to share this.

Now, what would be really great, is if we could run off statistics on how many people is connected at some point in the day. We are able to report on the user login time and their time of disconnection in any logon and the band upwards in this way. However, if John D connects to 09:00 and 10:00 out newspapers, we would expect to be counted at 09:00, 09:15, 09:30, 09:45 & 10:00 when he was for that entire period.

We do not know if this is possible, but any help is really appreciated.

    Thank you
    Lloyd

    Hello

I guess you have the logon_time and the logoff_time in your folder and you want to add up the number of users when connected on every quarter of an hour during the day.

To do this, you must use a generator of line because there is a line for once connected to an hour, but it takes five times for each quarter of an hour. You can use a custom line generator folder. It's just a folder that will always return a fixed number of lines. You will need to create a Dumpy field in the custom folder of row_gen to join your existing folder. In this example, I created a dummy scope recurring X. You can then create a calculated item in your folder which also always returns X and join the two files together using this fake field.

The line generator must create a line for each quarter during the day. For example,.

    SELECT 'X' model, TO_CHAR (hrs, 'fm00') |': ' | To_char (MN * 15, 'fm00') hhmm
FROM (SELECT rownum-1 hrs OF DOUBLE CONNECTION BY ROWNUM<=24)>
(SELECT rownum-1 mn DOUBLE CONNECTION BY ROWNUM<=4)>

You can reach this custom in your timings folder folder using the dummy field, but also include extra in your workbook join conditions so that there is a line that is generated for each quarter that the user is connected. There is some complexity if the user logs on another day. The join conditions must pick up all the lines power supply line for the duration of the user session. So you need to get conditions like this:

    (logon_time<= logoff_time="" --="" logged="" on="" and="" off="" on="" the="" same="">
    AND (row_gen.hhmm BETWEEN logon_time AND logoff_time))
    OR
(logon_time > logoff_time - logged on and off the different days)
    AND (row_gen.hhmm logon_time TO 23:45 ')
    GOLD row_gen.hhmm BETWEEN ' 00:00 ' AND logoff_time))

You can then include the row_gen.hhmm report and count the number of users. This will give you the number of users connected to each quarter throughout the day.

By the way you do not have a big decode statement. There are a number of other techniques that you could use as the beginning of the quarter and end of time stored in a separate folder.

In the page layout, you can change the printer to a single Note and then click Print. A note, you can use:

  • Why Adobe Acrobat hangs for a few seconds when first creating text box?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.11.

Usually, whenever I do the first text box after awhile since I finally used Adobe, it hangs for 5 seconds. Would it be a matter of Adobe or a hardware problem?

These symptoms result from a combination of the internal architecture of Acrobat and your hardware configuration.

When the first load of Acrobat when you explicitly call Acrobat or when you double-click a PDF file, only the minimum part of the program which is required to view a PDF file is initially loaded into memory. This excludes the required modules to support the myriad of features that supports Acrobat, including forms, preflight, signatures, editing PDF files, etc. What if all the code needed to be charged at time of initial start Acrobat, that the starting time would be too long! However, this additional code is loaded as needed. It is the reason why you see the delay of the first time you create a text box and not for the following text boxes.

In addition, when you close your last document, Acrobat isn't immediately shutdown. For example, if you double-click a PDF file for a short time after you think that acrobat is is no longer running, it quickly shows your PDF file and even the creation of the first text box will not only delay you previously registered.

This brings the question of how can you minimize the delay? There are several factors at work here. The first is the amount of memory real you have on your system. If you have many programs running and not a lot of memory, you end up with a virtual memory with the page fly resultant defects requiring operations on disc for you get the memory required by Acrobat and program memory pages that are stored on the disk. Then of course, the speed of your disks makes a difference both dealing with management as well as the portions remaining Acrobat loading of virtual memory needed for editing functions you call. A disk 5400 RPM is much slower than a 7200 RPM drive, which in turn is very slow compared to a SSD (solid state disk). And if you do not have a SSD and your magnetic disk drive is fragmented, more disk performance suffers. Bottom line is that adequate main memory and a disk capacity and speed higher will help. And if your drive is not an SSD, defragment your drive on a regular basis.

PS: Protected mode or repair your installation of Acrobat are irrelevant here!

  • Firefox hangs for a few seconds when you try to suspend videos or skip commercials on Youtube.

    Hi all!

My problem is that YouTube freezes for a few seconds when I try to put a video on a break or skip or run advertisements. The video freezes while the sound continues to play until, at the end of say 5 seconds, youtube is finally what I tell it to do.

This does not occur if the video is embedded on another website, nor is it on Vimeo, Dailymotion etc. I can play YouTube videos perfectly when you use Chrome, IE and Windows 8 Youtube application that I have.

After the first freeze all commands start works great, at least until I've opened a new video.

I noticed that many people are having problems with youtube while using firefox and I have tried a few things:
-uninstalling and reinstalling flash and java
    -from Firefox in safe mode
    -using the different antivirus software
    -Reinstall Firefox

I read that this could be a problem with the whole Google being all buddy-buddy with Adobe thing, but I'm skeptical.

So, is it possible to get YouTube working properly?

    Thank you!

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update

    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I uninstalled ASUS ACPI Center who could be one of the causes of this problem, rename the executable to Center asus acpi.

I ran TuneUp Disk Doctor to verify my RAID and fix problems

I update and updated my Antivirus ESET Smart Security in order to improve the performance of the process EKRN who sometimes take a large part of the time CPU.

Can someone advice me how track and what tools to use to run a diagnosis of systemd and check if my problem is with the hardware or the operating system?

    Kind regards.

    JUOX.

Run process monitor. Stop the trace when your problem occurs. Look through the timestamps of the gaps.

See this for an example of the use of Process Monitor to diagnose a deadlock:

  • Computer freezes for a few seconds

My computer seems to freeze every 3-5 minutes for a few seconds (by what I can say, I can always communicate with things on the desktop, but nothing seems to move). I scanned my computer for malware (Nothing found) and my hard drive does not need to defragment.

    Why is this happening?

    I really appreciate the help.
Curiously, just a simple reboot fixed it.

Perhaps a task did not work properly and was playing with the GPU?
    :/

    In any case, thank you.

  • When opening my e-mail address, the E-mail entire table up and down for about 5 seconds. Because of the motion, I opened that badly. How to stop this movement?

I use ASUS computer laptop and windows 7. When I opened my e-mail, the whole e-mail message table continues to move vertically for about 5 seconds and would then become immobile. Then only I can select a message and open. When I'm done with the reading of a message, and close it, it goes up and down motion again. Because of this instability, sometimes I open or delete the wrong message. What is the problem, can anyone help?

First of all, update Firefox 16.0.1. Update Firefox to the latest version

Then, try to read Web sites look bad or appear differently than they should and Refresh Firefox – reset settings and Add-ons. This could be just pictures of loading slowly, you have a slower internet connection with this computer?
