my computer hp laptop with windows 7 will run Sims 3 Although my laptop isn't windows vsita?

IM buying a HP laptop, well to be exact a HP 2000-2b10NR. It includes a 4 GB DIMMS and the software is Windows 8. I would like to buy the Sims 3 game but on amazon's platform: Windows Vista / 7 / XP will be the game Sims 3 HP laptop work?

A better question to put to this manufacturer of program or their forums, but generally if a program works in win7 it would be OK on win8

  • I have a Dell computer that came with Windows XP Home edition. When I start my computer the monitoring of ERROR appears: RUNDLL error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll

    Error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll

I have a Dell computer that came with Windows XP Home edition.  When I start my computer the monitoring of ERROR appears: RUNDLL error loading specified not found \3\DLBUtime.dll module

I just click 'ok' and he goes, but, as for what it stop popping up everytime I start my computer.

Can someone help me with this?

    Aprilm,

You are LuLu5119, who posted a question last August?

If this isn't the case, you should have started your own thread.  If so (and even if not), you should have responded to questions about Dell printers.

Assuming that you complain of a "Error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll" message that appears when you start your computer, you should know that the DLBUtime.dll file probably has something to do with the software from Dell which has been partially deleted, but could also be indicative of malware as well as partially withdrawn.

In both cases, the best way for start you to prevent the message at windows is to download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Install the Autoruns and let it complete the scan of your computer.  Then click on the "Connection" tab and uncheck the following entry:

Look for an entry that has 'DLBUCATS' in the first column.  If you do not see that, look for "rundll32 \3\dlbutime.dll" in the last column ("path of the Image).

Uncheck that entry, close Autoruns and restart your computer.  You should get is no longer the message.

If for any reason, you find later that you need dlbutime.dll running, run Autoruns and check the box. If you decide that you need never again, run Autoruns, right-click on the entry and select Delete.

As General precautionary measure, in case your entry dlbutime.dll was related to malicious software, rather than the Dell printing software, download the following free scanners:

    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware: http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware Portable: http://superantispyware.com/portablescanner.html

For MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, download, install, update and run.
For Portable SAS, follow the instructions on the Web page (note that the instructions assume that you use a different computer to download; if you're not, just make a note of the name of the file).

    Hello Sir,

recently I bought the laptop (320GB hard drive) with windows 7-64 bit OS.iam unable to shrink less than 155 GB c drive please help me. I want to reduce this to 90 GB

Its also the case that win7 takes only supported 4 basic partitions and you can't mention what Disk Management displays for drive 0.

And also if a pre-installed version of victory, if you manage to create partitions and at a later date, you will need to use your recovery disks, that may well destroy all created partitions.

For what reason you want to partition?

  • How to restart a computer that came with windows already installed.

I have a desktop with windows 8, which was installed by the manufacturer.  It crashed and tried to reload winows 8 of microsoft. Recovery usb I downloaded from microsoft was trying to restart windows 8.   Initial start-up asked me the windows KEY.  The key is loaded into the bios but is not visible.  How can I regain access windows KEY?  Thank you

You're telling me that the manufacturer could not / refuses to send you the installation media to restore their computer to condition "as delivered"?

Who is the manufacturer?  I know that Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Toshiba, etc all have them set up programs to help users specifically with (this installation/recovery to get to their systems support) as they agreed (in their license agreement with Microsoft) provide a method for the end user to do exactly this.

In many cases the 8/8.1 Windows product key is embedded in the BIOS at the factory for these machines.  You could read here on some methods for such a key - but honestly - you shouldn't have it (must be able to skip that part in installation and always get installed.):

Otherwise, unless you provide the computer name of such manufacturer...  Here is the process for gt these media for some manufacturers:

  • forgotten user password to connect to the computer that works with Windows Vista Home

version Windows vista home my daughter composed of a password that she can't remember now, we can't access the computer.  How to enter and reset this password without factory default and lose all the images and files?

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How to import bookmarks on a XP computer to one with Windows 7, both have Firefox 4.o

The XP computer is a 5 year old Dell and Windows 7 is a new laptop HP Pavilion G7. I was confused about the differences in the appearance of Firefox on the two as they are the two v4.o. I managed to download my favorites in a file .json from my XP computer, but I don't see where I can import the file on my Windows 7 laptop. I checked the program for Firefox in Windows 7 files and saw a chain preferences.js file. I didn't know if I should transfer the bookmark.json file in this folder to "import bookmarks.

To import the bookmarks into Windows 7 computer, click on the orange Firefox button in the bookmarks submenu, select "Show all bookmarks" to open the bookmarks library. In the bookmarks library, select "import and backup" menu, then click on "Choose file" and the restoration. You can then select the JSON from the other computer.

FYI, the new interface is only by default on Windows Vista and Windows 7. To get it under Windows XP, you must hide the menu bar. Do, in the view menu, select Toolbars, then click on the entrance to the "Menu bar".

Check that the disc does not have OEM on it, and you have a bet to level or retail key to go with it.

You should be able to run the install from Windows 98. If this is not possible your computer does not support boot from CD, you may need to run the install with a floppy disk.

Perform the clean boot on your computer and check.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

To perform a clean boot on a computer, follow these steps.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

Please follow the system in the boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to an application or a service, we have disabled. You can use the MSCONFIG tool again to reactivate the disabled one by one element to find the culprit.

  • I installed a driver for my printer Hp Officejet Pro L7380. How to connect the printer to the computer that works with windows vista?

I installed a driver for my printer Hp Officejet Pro L7380. I can print from my computer and it detected that it, I can't scan anything on my computer because it is not connected. I have tryied Conect it but can not select. So my question is, how I connect printing to computer?

Specify that you are trying to scan a document Hp Officejet Pro L7380 to your Vista machine.  It has only a single computer attached, or is it a printer networked with other computers?

If you have installed the base drivers and not the additional software that allows scanning etc so maybe it's why you fail.

    Have a look here.

    Software & Driver Downloads
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093&LC=en&cc=au&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3198092#n190

It might be possible with just the base drivers, for other software, such as your Photo editing programs, including painting, for import documents or images from the scanner.  Windows Fax and Scan can be able to do.  When you go in such programs are there options scan and they see your scanner?  If this is not the case, try the full download.

If you want to of HP to make scanning programs, you may need the-base drivers and software (larger download).

For my HP ' All in one ' works like a scanner, it was necessary for me to download all drivers and software.
