Welcome to the Microsoft community. It seems that you are unable to play the game of GTA IV on your new computer. It may be difficult when a new computer is not the games.
To help you with the problem, we need more information. Please answer the following questions:
What happens when you try to open? Do you get any error messages?

As this is a new computer, I suggest that you update the display card drivers and check if you can play the game.
You can visit the manufacturer's Web site and download the latest drivers for the display adapter. For help, refer to this article. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-8/all-drivers

I followed the instructions to make sure I don't understand the "update notification" on stop downs and other tips, but I have more patience at this point. This has been going on and I can't the system up to date. I made every effort (by previous questions and answers) to ensure that the free trial of Norton has been removed from this computer. It is a laptop.
Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.
[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline. If a step said to reboot, reboot.]
1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).
4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.
NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!
5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
6. do a clean install of Norton 360 2011 (using your product ID, if need be) & reboot. CF. http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN
NOTE: Do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.
7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate (Norton) until you get a prompt "no update more".
8 reset the advanced settings of the IE by http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Reset-Internet-Explorer-settings
9. open IE8 32 bit (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 [ignore if APPLIES to article] & run it in DEFAULT and modes difficulty then AGGRESSIVE. [1]
10. restart once again & test.

has worked before system restore now it shows only a white screen
Hello
If you use HP MediaSmart DVD to read Blu - ray disc, try the following.
HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution. Download the installer for it on the link below and save it to your desktop.
FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53029.exe
When the download is complete, open windows panneau Panel configuration, open programs and features, right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - once this process is complete, restart the laptop.
When windows has reloaded, double-click the installer for PowerDVD 10 start the installation. Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.
Kind regards

Hi John,
We have several audits of bug:
ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY (CF)
This indicates that an attempt was made to execute non-executable memory.
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (1e)
This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which did not catch the error handler.
Verification of error 1E, {ffffffffc000001d, fffff801af0bb63e, fffff801af363800, 2}
0: kd > fffff801af0bb63e ln
(fffff801'af0bb600) nt! KeReleaseInStackQueuedSpinLock + 0x3e | (fffff801'af0bb670) nt! KeResetEvent^^ The exception is produced in nt! KeReleaseInStackQueuedSpinLock. This routine restores the original IRQL that the operating system saved at the beginning of the call to KeAcquireInStackQueuedSpinLock .
KeAcquireInStackQueuedSpinLock increases the level of IRQL at DISPATCH_LEVEL level during the acquisition of the spin lock.
If we check the IRQL at time of accident:
0: kd >! IRQL
Debugger saved IRQL for processor 0 x 0-2 (DISPATCH_LEVEL)^^ Very well, we're right on the money in the measure of the level IRQL go... but why an exception occurred here on this pretty normal routine? My guess is we had a DPC/lock and the system deadlocked. It could be both material.
TIMER_OR_DPC_INVALID (c7)
This is issued when a timer kernel or deferred procedure call (DPC) is located somewhere in memory where it is not allowed.
This problem is usually caused by a driver, not to cancel a timer or a DPC before freeing the memory where he resides.

1. make sure you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest graphics card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the last to make sure this isn't a last number one driver. If you have already experienced with the driver of the card later and earlier versions, please try the driver beta for your card.
2. remove and replace McAfee integrated Windows Defender in Windows 8 for temporary troubleshooting purposes as it is probably cause conflicts:
Removal of McAfee- http://service.McAfee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?ID=TS101331
Windows Defender (how put on after the withdrawal)- http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/21962-Windows-Defender-turn-off-Windows-8-a.html
3 if the two above fail, return the laptop ASAP for a new replacement brand as then it is a hardware problem. No brand new laptop should be planted in all circumstances.
Kind regards
Patrick

W7 Upgrade Advisor said it would work with the exception of Windows Aero. When the games to try to come with W7 get window 'game running in software rendering... '. Hardware acceleration disabled or not supported by the video card driver"games will not work. A check says last drivers are installed. Tried to reinstall WXP in separeat partition to see if would work like that but will not because most recent W7.
I suggest that you use XP personally gave a computer which is so old.
If you have a computer with XP (3 + years) and have not changed at least two of these things (CPU, RAM, video card), you should probably stick with XP. Not worth the headache of praying that things work with a material more old which probably is no longer supported on the new OS.
Usually, people that the computer was shipped with Vista 1, 2 or less it several years ago can be upgraded to 7 without too much trouble if it was a mid-range machine. In addition, it seems that Windows is not recognizing your graphics card. It looks like (http://www99.shopping.com/xPO-Hewlett-Packard-SR1020NX-CEL2-8-512-80-COM-XPH) you have an Intel Extreme graphics card. However, nothing about it is extreme. Since it is an extreme Intel card I guess Windows Update should find the drivers for you, but it is not then maybe the video card is just too outdated for 7? I'm not sure.
Moreover, I wouldn't worry much about the lack of updates for XP right now. If ever you encounter more money then get the new computer with 7 on it, but at this time I suggest you stay on XP if your hardware and software actually works and that is more important than a few features of 7.

Brand new OfficeJet 7000 drivers will not install for the brand new Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit PC
Hello
I downloaded the versions Basic, both full of drivers for printer OfficeJet 7000. Move cleanly - error code 2203. When talking about this issue with the Support technical they tried several different things, but nothing has worked. I have a service ticket number - 80356333671
After turning off the phone (more than 90 minutes) - I searched on google and all the hits that were displayed were the same steps I saw technician employment, made you ask - is google, the new standard Tech support?
Currently, I own a nice weight and pretty paper. Anyone can help - I'd appreciate it.
With the help of technical support, I ran the "Officejet software and driver Removal Utility" for my particular model (available on HP website - driver download page) and then ran the installation of the driver and it worked perfectly. Why? I do not know.

IM buying a HP laptop, well to be exact a HP 2000-2b10NR. It includes a 4 GB DIMMS and the software is Windows 8. I would like to buy the Sims 3 game but on amazon's platform: Windows Vista / 7 / XP will be the game Sims 3 HP laptop work?
A better question to put to this manufacturer of program or their forums, but generally if a program works in win7 it would be OK on win8
