  Your desktop PC old venerable uses don't suport not the SATA interface and IDE hard disks. He certainly gave you several (10) years of great service.

  SSDS use the SATA interface.

  There is none of the hard drives SSD IDE on the market.

  This is why it was suggested at the forum that you referenced to turn off the old office in the pasture.

  You have enough free space to defragment to run.

  Only one problem, this is the toolbar_log.txt file of AVG and it is a known problem with AVG and you can read about it in their forums here (just an example - look in their forums):

  I don't use AVG and won't, but if you want to continue using it, you may ask AVG what to do about such things because obviously they know about it.  Perhaps you need an update, disable certain things or consider replacing it with something like Microsoft Security Essentials which doesn't have these problems.  Your system will give you better performance.

  If you choose to replace your AVG with MSE, remember to use the uninstaller that you can find here:

  Then you have things like:

  You have a lot of RP1 and who would be the 1 system restore point.

  Such are the XP system restore points and RP1 goes probably back a certain ways unless you've been fidlding with your options of SR - perhaps at least 90 days.  The default time for RPs to 'live' on a system is 7776000 seconds (90 days).  It could be your RP1 is afflicted and you can just knock that one if you want, but you will need some third paryt tool to choose what RPs to hit.

  You could use something like CCleaner to knock out the old RPs or just whack RP1 and see what things look like, or use disk cleanup which will hit all but your last RP.  If you don't think that you care about your course of the last 90 days of RPs, which could be a good idea for you help to leave.

  I don't know why XP sometimes seems to have a hard time with RPs, but sometimes it is, but there are alternatives to the construction in the XP Defragmenter.

  The XP Defragmenter is a lighter version of the popular tool of Condusiv Technologies, called "Diskeeper.  It does a pretty good job most of the time, but there are other (often free) tools that people like best.

  Here are some popular third-party tools that you can analyze and you can do some research on Google for others (in no particular order):
