  May I ask how you installed Win XP?
  Did you change the SATA mode on compatible in the BIOS settings?
  If yes then this problem is related to the missing SATA drivers!

  I did the scan with the command prompt. He finds errors and could not correct. I don't know how to find out what are these errors, or even how to fix them if I could.
  Basically, I did everything I can possibly think and does everything that I've seen in researching this issue. I really need help. I think that my computer can start and run a lot faster then it is now.

The computer is particularly slow in Safari, but was slower than normal as well. I backed up my files in Time Machine to an external drive before any troubleshooting, so I'm really happy about it. The person had me clear everything and go into recovery mode and reinstall the OS. After that I had problems with closing down and restart so I reinstalled again and just have not stopped since then. I don't him have NOT YET migrated all my files back and will not until I know that the system is stable. My laptop is functional but still just very slow. Can someone please help? I'm desperate!   Try this:

  Repair the hard drive and permissions - El Capitan

  HD recovery start:

  Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

  Repair

  When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click the first aid tab in the toolbar... If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then re-run first aid until no errors are reported. Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

  Now, download and reinstall OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 Combo Update.

  Now my computer is very slow - trudging-

  Have seen several Beach - unprecedented balls - in my life.

  Have been read the tips of Apple Support Mess - you are looking for a simple solution.

  I have baby steps and delete cookies... organized files and photos...

  Nothing helps.

  When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

  These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

  Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

  ☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

  ☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

  ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

  The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

  SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

  in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

  List of newspapers seen ▹ display

  in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

  Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.

  Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.

  Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

  The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

  Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

  Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

  Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  When you post the journal excerpt, an error message may appear on the web page: "you include content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." • very slow computer where I can't access rearch engines or anything else outside the e-mail

  my computer has recedntly becomes very slow and I can't use it except for e-mail. Every search I do says site is unavailable. The size of the police has started to adapt to a format that I can't read it is so big and I can't change it back down. I also have a problem with access to a wireless printer to my wireless computer that is almost brand new. It is a Lenova all-in-one and has been a problem since I got it. any advice would be gratefull received. Thank you
