My computer keeps asking me to restart to complete the installation of Firefox

I just tried to upgrade to Firefox 8 and was asked to restart my computer. During its restart and try to run Firefox, I kept getting a message asking me to restart my computer. I've done several times and kept getting the same message.

I found somewhere on the web that the problem could be due to some windows update that requires restarting the PC. When you press this firefox prompt restart, update of victory is not done, so it remains pending and firefox will keep asking you to restart.
Just make all the updates to windows, and then start/stop normally, so that windows gets all those sorted. After that, install firefox again and it should be ok. Mine is and I had the same problem. Discovered that I had 10 updates to windows that require a system shutdown. Those, and then installed FF8 and everything is back to normal.

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue on Windows updates.

I will definitely help you with this.

I suggest you go through the below methods:

Method 1: Try to run the troubleshooter Windows updates:

    Problems with installing updates

    http://go.Microsoft.com/?linkid=9666880

Method 2: Try the clean boot:

A clean boot is executed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This will eliminate the conflicts of software that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in 8.1 of Windows, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. You can also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

  • I loaded the new update for Firefox today and received a message from 'need to reboot to complete the installation'. However, even after restarting several times the update does not load and he always invites me to restart my computer.

The update does not load, and I can't "remove" program to my computer and reload as the same (needs to restart to complete the installation) error message keeps appearing even after several reboots.

Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible.

    • Do not remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

I keep asking myself for permission to copy the files, etc.  How can I turn this off?

    Hi Kasggr,

You are be prompted for approval because of her User Account Control (UAC) and it is not wise to turn off UAC.

User Account Control (UAC) is a feature in Windows that can help prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. This UAC asking your permission or an administrator password before performing actions that may affect the operation of your computer, or that change settings that affect other users

By verifying these actions until they start, UAC can help prevent malicious software (malware) and spyware from installing or making changes to your computer without permission.

Using Windows 7 and had automatic windows updates turned on - I now will choose updates to install.  While I use my computer, the dialog box appears constantly on my screen asking you to restart the computer to complete the installation of the updates.  I restart the computer a couple of times and yet the box is always displayed.  It is obvious that restarting the computer is not the problem.

I have WINDOWS VISTA and just tried to reinstall my laptop of restoration on a HARD disk partition.

    Hello

For any problem with the help of the recovery Partition that has been copied to the hard disk by the computer manufacturer, you must contact them.

This recovery process is the manufacturer, not Microsoft.

    ________________________________________________

You never told us why you wanted to do a restore. If you had serious errors and the recovery process does not work, you will have hardware problems. BUT we're only guessing at this stage due to lack of information to help you.

INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Hi, I am using the windows 7 Home premium with Sony Vaio netbook.  This message appears when I've been windows installation since it is newly purchased, "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, run the Setup again"when I click ok, and then the computer restarts automatically and then come back to this message. I reboot several times but the result was always the same. Home premium to Windows 7 has been with the netbook already, so I don't have the Disc... can someone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much

My colleague has had a similar problem when she came back to the States with a new Vaio from Sony, I didn't just run recovery and reinstall Windows and its worked good since. She even gave me a hug for fixing.

The problem seems to be the OOBE which would suggest its more hardware than windows, but I understand your nature, you want to be right about everything.

Why not just do you do an Anytime Upgrade of Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate?

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

  • Windows cannot complete the installation in Mode without failure. To continue installing Windows, restart the computer.

HP Desktop, Windows 8.0.  Do a restore of Windows 8 on the hard drive.  Everything is progressing very well until I get this dialog box message: "Windows cannot complete the installation in Mode without failure.  To continue installing Windows, restart the computer. "When I restart the computer the same message appears in a new dialog box.  Before the restoration of Windows, I tried to reset mode without fail to start to get the operating system will once again but failed to get the operating system to boot at all.  Finally resorted to restore to get the computer working again.

    How to exit this loop?

    OK, here's what I discovered.

When you get the error message mentioned above, you can hold down the SHIFT key and press the F10 key.  This will put you in the command prompt.

At the command prompt, type: bcdedit [then press enter]

so to solve my problem I hade type: bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot [then press enter]

This put the loop I lived and finished restoring Windows 8
