Tab App re-appears not when Firefox is opened; using Firefox 5.0.1 on a Mac
Nice day!
Trying to use the feature of the application tab, I noticed that the app tab re does not appear after the closing and re-opening then Firefox. I use Firefox on a Mac (latest OS) 5.0.1. I am able to easily create the app tab, but it does not record - next time I open Firefox, the app tab is longer there. Any suggestions would be welcome.
In my preferences, I have the following, among others:
Activated: "tell web site that I don't want to be the subject of a follow-up."
Activated: 'clear history when Firefox closes."
Cookies are retained only until Firefox is closed.
Activated: 'block pop-up windows '.
Enabled - 'enable JavaScript '.If you need other information, please advise.
Thanks for you help. I used Firefox since it first came out. This is my first question.
Kind regards

Sound of siren when starting computer (Windows 7) E-Machine
I was wondering what could be the cause this Mermaid - like the high-pitched noise when starting my computer. It doesn't go away, but I wonder why this is happening. I was reading about the fans, etc., and the CPU usage but I'm not sure how to check for these things.
I would be grateful if someone could answer this question. Thank you.
Angela
Perhaps in connection with a system fan doesn't start is not at the start, no such error / sound is triggered in the bios of the system, before the start of victory
This problem occurred after that you run a windows update, or installed / ran a maintenance utility?
Is this a desktop or laptop computer and model number?

There is no text in the pop-up window, and when I click outside the window, there is a tone 'error' that plays. The only way I can close Firefox is to open the Task Manager and end task. I deleted Firefox on my computer and reinstalled, and it has not solved the problem. Included is a screenshot of what it looks like.
This can result from the AOL toolbar.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

I repeatedly checked my settings for Firefox go to my home page when opened. Instead, it opens my recent pages open. I have the latest version of Firefox. This happened about a week.
Ah! I see something!
Your troubleshooting information, says that there is a file user.js in your profile folder
The user.js file appears only if you or another software created, therefore, normally, he wouldn't be here.
The user.js file is read whenever you launch Firefox and initializes the preferences to the value specified in this file.Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

Close firefox in 1 single workspace when firefox is opened in mutiple workspaces.
When I use firefox in mutiple workspaces on my Xfce/Unbuntu desktop if I close firefox in a workspace it closes it in all areas of work. How can I avoid this.
After reading your last post, I decided to look and check out all the options to close the Firefox Windows. I found that if I close the window remains last on a workspace by the 'X' button in the right-hand side of the title bar of Firefox it closes Firefox in all workspaces. However, I found that if I close the window remains last on a workspace by using the small icon of Firefox on the menu on the left side of the window taking place & click close in this menu it does not close Firefox in all areas of work in the space of a work place. (It may help that I put in place of the separate virtual desktop on one office. Then, I opened Firefox in each workspace & clicked "Desktop 1" only then "Desktop 2" only and etc. This seems to have solved the problem for now.
Thanks for your help.

When firefox is opened the page scrolls to the top and I lost the menu bar
When I open firefox the page scrolls to the top and I can see no longer the menu bar. Somehow, I think I clicked on 'white page' and now I can't view the entire page.
Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 to toggle).

The individual buttons reappear as the mouse moves over them. (file, edit, view, etc.)
If hardware acceleration is the cause of the problems then this means that Firefox is unable to use the GPU to your chart view card in order to unload the main processor and perform actions more quickly.
You may not notice any difference is most cases.
The only solution is to check if there is an update of the driver for your graphics card. -
I don't want a radio at the start of Firefox. How can I disable it?

I've been a Firefox user for many years and I still use it as my main browser. A problem that has bothered me for years lies in the fact that when Firefox is open and I change my audio output device by default, Firefox does not respect this change and continues to play audio through the device that was used to originally. Even if you stop the audio and keep playing, does not change the output device.
Is there a way that this can be configured in Firefox? Now, if I listen to music online (e.g. Soundcloud) I always use Chrome because it is respect changing the default audio output even in the middle of audio playback device.
Reproduce:
1. start audio playback (for example a YouTube video; HTML5 and Flash are affected)
2. change your audio output device by default
3. audio will continue to play the original output deviceThank you!
