My cursor jumps all over the screen while typing.

Original title: TYPING PROBLEM

MY CURSOR JUMPS AROUND WHEN I TAPE. I DID A SCAN BUT NO HELP.

Ok. I use a Dell computer. I can only show how I do in my Dell computer.

Basically, you need to perform the settings with touchpad you. He is too sensitive. When you start typing, you touched the touchpad inadvertently, and moved the cursor.
Here's how I'd do...

Right-click on a free space of the desktop > customize > mouse pointers > (this is where if you do not have a Dell PC, you may not be able to follow. But you should have an idea right after that).

I click Dell Touchpad tab > Device Select > I would like to either click on 'Disable' under the Touchpad > or put a check mark on "Disable Touchpad when external mouse usb is present." > OK

Another method >
Click Touchpad > Touchpad settings > under tactile sensitivity, move the slide to the RIGHT (heavy)
> OK

Nice and funny statement. Really funny. I don't me remember more that this computer has developed there is 65years :D

First of all, it would be really useful if post you a few details on your OS and your laptop model

Secondly, I have read similar questions might appear if you accidentally touch the surface of the touchpad while typing. That is why it s advisable to disable the touch pad using the FN + F9 key and to check if this problem still persists.

Last but not Lea check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS. If this isn't the case, then update it!

  • mouse not working not properly. It jumps all over the screen by itself

Since the upgrade to the latest version of El Capitan, I have a problem with my mouse and my Trackpad 2. The trackpad does not at all even though it is connected and bluetooth works. The mouse jumps around on the screen and it is difficult to land on the site I want.

If the mouse you mention is a Magic Mouse 1, which is probably the reason why.   Magic mouse 1 works up to a point, but you need Magic Mouse 2 for maximum effect, once you have upgraded to El Capitan.  I would add, with new OS on the horizon (Sierra), your need for MM2 becomes even more pressing.

    Hello

    Laptop?

Check with the manufacturer of system support, documentation in line, or forums as there
probably are shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions.

Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with)
Entries of TouchPad) and some have a utility that loads in the Notification area near clock on
at the bottom right. There "may" be the sensitivity settings.

    ==========================================

If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work) try to update
    the driver for the TouchPad.

Panel of configuration-Device Manager - mice and pointing devices - Double click on touch pad
-Pilot Tab - click on Update Driver (which is may not make anything like MS is far behind certifying)
(drivers), now right CLICK on the touchpad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in).
    RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad
    of work.

The similar procedure on XP, Windows 7 and Vista is the same, except that we need to clear
the device if it is present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

This utility also allows to control the TouchPad:

  • Satellite C600 - slider running around all over the screen

I was delivered just the C600 Satellite and I can't type my cursor running around all over the screen. I followed the advice of other threads without success. 'FN + F9' does not disable the touchpad, and there is no touchpad under Mouse Properties tab. When I search the computer for "touchpad", in fact, there is no answer.

    Please advise!

    Hello

Why try to disable the touchpad?

The Satellite C series there is a BIOS update that will resolve this slider skip the question. There are already a lot of discussion here in the forum:

    Hello

I think we can exclude HARD disk failure because you are able to format it in another computer.
As you suggest the RAM modules has been replaced but the problem persists
So in my opinion, a motherboard problem would be possible

But as you know, it of really difficult to say what might be exactly wrong
I think that the technician should check the laptop then it would be possible to say what part is malfunctioning

In any case, I think a motherboard might be affected

  • Vista, why my cursor jumps around on the screen without reason?

Vista, why my cursor jumps around on the screen without reason?

You are using a laptop with a touchscreen?  Chances are good that you accidentally touch the touchpad while typing, and that moves the cursor.  Go to start / Control Panel / mouse and see if there are controls for adjusting the sensitivity of the touchpad or to disable the touchpad while typing.  Go to the web site of the manufacturer of your and download the latest device drivers, firmware, and software for touchpad you and your mouse (if you also have a mouse - you may have to go the manufacturer of the mouse for these drivers, if she did not come with the system).  New updates can offer options that did not exist before like the ones I mentioned.

This happened to me also and I bought a separate mouse and disabled the touchpad and the problem disappeared - but he had me past for awhile until I finally figured it out by typing differently (with my hands up higher so the Palms do not touch and had no problem).  Even if this isn't the problem, update the drivers, firmware or software can solve the problem on its own.

If none of the works above, we will need either to run a complete troubleshooting procedures (post back and I'll meet with them) or the touchpad or mouse is defective and must be replaced.  You can discuss these last with the computer manufacturer when you talk to them (if you talk to them).

I hope this helps.  If you have any questions along the way, come back and I'll do my best to answer.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Most manufacturers provide methods to disable the touch pad so check with your
the manufacturer of the laptop supports, their books online and ask in their forums.
Make sure you have the latest drivers available - firstly starting from the manufacturer of the laptop
the site and on the site of the manufacturer of the real device (such as Synaptics or)
Alps) to see if there are even newer versions. They may also have an installable
utility to control the toggling of the TouchPad. Some use the function key (F-keys)
to enable and disable the touchpad (latest drivers).

There may be a utility in the notifications area (near the clock in the lower-right).

Panel configuration-mouse - there are often - tab device settings - settings
Some have a disable option and others.

    ==========================================

This utility also lets you control the TouchPad: (Vista, &, 8 & 8.1 - I have not
tried with Windows 10 but it should work.)

    TouchFreeze - free
