  Just see your questions:
  What model of laptop do you have exactly?
  What system do you use?
  What exactly do you mean by power of LAN?

  I can tell you that the cooling modules are controlled by fan table stored in the BIOS.
  Usually, the fan starts to spin if the CPU would be responsible for some unique applications/processes. It would also be possible that your fan is running continuously with low performance to maintain the low temperature. This isn't a real problem for laptop.

  We have a Toshiba L550D-12F and we are quite satisfied with the device itself - if it wasn't noisy fan. The fan ALWAYS runs audibly and I can't find any setting in the BIOS to its control.

  I hope that my advice will help a little. I recommend you to use the laptop with the balanced power plan. Pleae change also advanced for this plan. In the advanced settings, you will find Toshiba power saver and the cooling method options. Place the change on the lower level.
  It should reduce the activity of fan.

  For example, when I use my Tecra A11 at the office for Office and mail applications I use for laptop and power management standby runs very quiet but the performance are always good.

  I am running Vista and have reformatted and reinstalled three times in the last four or five months.  Whenever I installed, the pc works fine for a while then after a windows update, I don't know which, I start getting a lot of substantive activity on my hard drive.  This activity relates the mouse so much that sometimes it won't let me move it for 10 to 20 seconds.  Even with the keyboard.

  After each reinstallation, I load Vipre, to update and run a security analysis. Can I update Vista with each patch MS listed as critical or recommended before installing other software.  Now, all that is loaded is MS Office, Adobe Web Premium, Sony Ebook Library and some printer drivers.

  Manager tasks indicates little activity, 1-3% on each of the 4 hearts.  I restarted in safe mode, just to see if it might be something that takes over and I have the same problem in safe mode.  Lock the mouse and the hard disk activity.  Again, all the security scans show nothing other than a few cookies.

  I saw in other Councils there have been problems with either Windows Update has blocked upwards or with the MS .net framework installed.

  Someone has seen this before and if yes is there a solution that doesn't require a reformat and reinstall?

  Since I got a malware infection (CloudShield) I have had this problem since. At one point I was Windows Vista (could be minutes, hours or days - it varies) to get one or more of these messages for a variety of programs and the dll for things that worked perfectly well until there.  The most recent was to explore "Explorer.exe is not a windows 32 application '! Obviously, I couldn't have been using my computer and opening existing as an Excel document files and the Explorer window that is currently open if this were true!  Everything I run worked fine, until suddenly something I try to open opens more and gives me one of the errors above.  This does not happen when I run mode without failure.

  I managed to repair some of the damage generated by the CloudShield, including how it has disabled my task manager and other programs of the Control Panel, in what I could find on registry cleaning and removing the exe file that he had pointed to.   I use Apex 4.2.1 against Oracle 11 g 2 and Oracle Application Server (mod_plsql).
  
  My set-up:
  I created an application that contains a statement such as "classic" which is driven by a WHERE clause. I have also two date fields in an HTML area on this page. These fields are used in the report of the WHERE clause. And the report is run by clicking on a button to GO to the page.
  
  Here's what looks like the WHERE clause:

  where table_date >= to_date(nvl(:P1_BEGIN_DATE, '01-jan-1900'), 'dd-mon-yyyy') and table_date <= to_date(nvl(:P1_END_DATE, '31-dec-2300'), 'dd-mon-yyyy')

  It is designed so that, if one of the date fields is NULL, then the minimum or maximum date is used for the query.
  
  Date of these fields should always have a value when the report is run, and so I created two after do NOT offer validation of NULL value, one for each of the date fields. If one of these fields is NULL when the user clicks the OK button, an error message appears in the tray at the top of the page.
  
  Looking at all this, you might realize (like me) in the WHERE clause above nvl() functions are redundant. After all, the validations are supposed to prevent these date fields to NULL when the report is run. In any case, this configuration works ok and observed a strange behavior with Apex.
  
  
  My problem:
  If none of these validations throws an error message, the report is still running. In previous versions of the Apex, if a validation (or for that matter, any error) is launched, the report remains static. The region of report does not disappear and the report is not called until the user corrects the error.
  
  If the two date fields are filled, I click on the GO button and the report returns correctly, say, 100 lines. But when I empty both date fields and click OK, validation errors appear and the report still works, now to return the maximum number of lines, say, 1000.
  
  What I tried:
  I added a branch Page with 'No. Inline Validation errors displayed' condition so that the branches back to itself when no errors appear inline and I changed the error messages from validation to appear online. This has no effect.
  
  And if I remove the WHERE clause above, nvl() functions then, when validation errors are thrown, the data in the report are replaced with the message "No data found". All very disconcerting to my users.
  
  Does anyone know why the reports of the Apex are always executed in the presence of validation errors?
  And how to work around this behavior?

  The problem with the DA is a common blunder - the conditions should be adjusted.

  Remove the condition on the DA itself - it decides to make the DA as part of the page. In your case, you always want to do (no condition).

  You need to define is the condition that causes the DA to do it's work when the event happens in the browser (click the button).

• Portege Z830 - fan noisy and almost always running

  My new Portege Z830 has the issue of noisy fan and almost always running which has been said here before.

  Recommendations were that we download bios 1.6. But I checked and that the version is already installed on my machine. I also adjusted the power save mode battery parameters as others have suggested. But that made no difference,

  All the other tips has been give in technical language far this beginner.

  If anyone has any suggestions they might put in words of one syllable and the step by step instructions, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.

  It's always the same, even when I choose its configuration. I use the same drivers as before, just only update the bios.

  I tested with the latest divers chipset intel and Nvidia alsow driver and it's always the same.
  So my concludes is the BIOS, is Toshiba knows something about this problem and work on a newer bios?
