My download of DownThemAll module has disappeared...

I had DownThemAll on my Firefox, my preferred method of download; It seems to have disappeared since my last update of Firefox. In fact, it is possible that all my modules and themes have disappeared; TabMixPlus, as well? I didn't have any program avast on my computer, I know, so I don't know this isn't the problem.

Do you have a lot of extensions? It might be easier to reinstall noticed both are missing. But if there are others you do not remember, or extensions stored valuable data, then you can try to roll back the update.

Because of differences between Windows and Mac, I'm not familiar with the details of how do it on Mac. In other words, I think that what follows is often right, but please translate my Windows-talk to Mac-Word if necessary.

Check inside 'Old Firefox Data' folder for a folder with a random semi name. If there is only one, that probably has your old settings and Add-ons. If there is more than one, you'll want to work with one who has been updated recently.

Once you have identified the profile folder, that you want to restore, here is my "old profile resurrection suggested procedure:

Here are the detailed steps below:

  1. Create a new Firefox profile
  2. Delete all of this profile folder
  3. Copy in all of the old profile folder

Create a new Firefox profile

Exit Firefox. Start up in the Profile Manager using the method in this article: use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox.

Notes:

  • Do not delete anything here!
  • Any time you want to switch profiles, leave Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile, give it a name like OldSettings and skip the option to change the location of the folder. Select the new profile from the dialog box, and then start Firefox.

Open the new profile folder in the Finder

Firefox in the new profile should look like a new installation of the plant. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

  • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
  • Menu help > troubleshooting information
  • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press enter/return

In the first table, click on the button 'show in Finder '. Firefox will launch a Finder window showing the contents of your new profile folder.

This folder open, switch to Firefox and Quit/exit. When Firefox closes, the profile folder must be front and Center, or you can activate it by using the taskbar (? or Mac equivalent).

Copy old data instead of new

In this new profile folder, select all the content and delete.

Leave this window open, open or switch to your folder of old data of Firefox. Consult your old profile folder. At this level, you should see a folder named bookmarkbackups among other things.

Just select and copy (or right-click > copy or Ctrl + c).

Switch to the empty profile folder in another window and paste (or right-click > paste or Ctrl + v). This may take a few minutes because some files are large.

Launch Firefox

Firefox should start in this new profile with the old resurrected profile data. Success?

    I doubt you need to reinstall, Susan - you can probably re-enable the module library simply by right-clicking on the module bar and select the modules you want on the shortcut menu.

    I investigated the Photoshop Image Processor and batch - not only it would be incredibly slow, as it is open each file in photoshop and then save again, there is no option to skip the file if it already has a saved jpeg file.  In fact, worse still, it just seems to add a "_1" on the end of the file it creates eventually give me hundreds of duplicates.

    Anyone knows how is to take about it?

    You can do this with a script.

    I think that all this is due to the way Mozilla launches version.     WOT has disappeared. Donwloading / new installation appears to work but still WOT not in the list of modules.
