I am the administrator and want to change the settings for games/ratings on my son's standard user account, but it won't let me... Very frustrating!

He returns constantly with the message: unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, consult your system administrator

I have read many previous posts on this issue, but it seems that nobody has provided a solution that I can find!

    Hi TeenaWilson,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for the query display. Looks like you are not able to modify the parental control on a standard account.

    Try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result.

See: How can I change the behavior of user account control by using the slider?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

I suggest to create a new administrator account and log later in the new administrator account, try to set parental controls and check if it works.

    Create a user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

    Step 2:

If the problem persists not in the new user account, try and fix the damaged user account, follow the link below:

  • Unable to save the family settings, error: the system cannot find the specified file 80070002 error code.

Original title: Family Safety filter configuration problem.

    Hello.

I got family safety works very well before a reinstall of Windows 7 Professional.  After I install windows essentials, I connect to my microsoft account, now I'm trying to set up the filter, monitored accounts are already checked, the only option is to save.

When I click Save I get this

The system cannot find the specified file 80070002 error code.

I've tried everything.  Uninstall, reinstall Windows Essentials 2012.  First of all, I did a partial install with just the film and the family.  Uninstalled.  Re-installed full.  Always the same question.  I even tried to install Windows Essentials 2011.  No change.

    Help, please.  I appreciate it.

    Thank you

  • How to give access to a program downloaded to other users with constraints of family settings

    Hello

I have a PC running Windows 8 with 3 user accounts: administrator (mine) and one for each of my two children. I put restrictions of family put on their accounts, so that they can access certain levels of games and/or ones I allow them to use.
I bought and downloaded a game for them in the account administrator (Doodle God). I can play the game of my user account, but they can't have their profiles - they see only the free version of limited capacity, which came preloaded with the PC when we bought it. In addition, when I go to start their menus and click on all Applications, the full version does not appear in their profiles (it does on mine).
I tried to adjust the parameters of family to see if I could give them access to that game especially (with the option that allows you to block or allow access to individual applications), but the game does not even appear in the list, so I can't allow to use it.
Can you please help? It is not sensible that I should be uploading (and pay) for the game for each separate profile. At present, the only way they can play is if they are in my profile, which of course defeats the purpose consisting of all parameters of family.
    Thank you very much.

  • PlayStation view family iPhone app will not download

We just decided to cut the cable and begin broadcasting using the PlayStation view platform.  So far it meets our needs.  However, my daughter's room has a feature of Chromecast broadcast it manages by using his iPhone (my old iPhone 4S).  She is about 9 years old and I've set him up on my family iTunes account.  Here's the problem: when it opens its app Chromecast to download the app view PS, the 'Get' for PS view button is shaded out and leaves him not download the app on his iPhone.  I am convinced that this is due to a limit of age because of my family configuration.  How can I work around this problem so that we can download this application?  Where can I go to change the family settings?  Can I download it for her on my device and then have it download from the cloud?  These are all the right ideas.  I do not know.

    Hello bubbajaxonbrown,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I know have a problem with applications, it's not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to download the app PlayStation view from the App Store on the iPhone of your daughter 4 s. Because this app is part of the family sharing, I'd start with the steps in this article to resolve your problem:

If you do not see your family's shared content

Another way, you can get this app on iPhone for your daughter is to transfer the application from your iPhone to iTunes on a computer with this process:

Redownload or transfer of your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer

Then sync the app to iTunes on a computer at your daughter 4 s iPhone:

Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer through a USB port

    See you soon!

  • How can I disable the sharing of family?

    Hello

  • How to make a backup of the application settings to switch to the new icloud/Apple account?

Hi there, hope someone can help me with this:

My son (10yo) has an iPod Touch - he had for a time signed in my wife iCloud account (so that actually, she sees and OKs all the apps he wants to put on there etc.

We would like for him to have his own account (linked to our under family settings) but if we create that and connect to the iPod with it will be the apps all disappear?

In fact, there is less of a problem concerning the applications themselves (most could be obtained under family sharing) but the associated data - game progress, pictures taken etc.

Here are some steps we can take to save this kind of thing and then get the iPod back about how he is now just under his account of 'nine '?

    Thank you for the pointers.

  • Sorry, we could not make changes to parental controls settings.

    Hello.

We recently bought two laptops for our children. My wife tried to set up parental controls, but we were striking problems on one of them.

We have removed the trial version of McAfee that came with the laptop and installed computer Total virus defense. We tried and then configure the parameters of the family.

A laptop works fine, but the laptop on the other, identical displays an error message when the family settings are changed.
"Sorry, we could not make changes to parental controls settings."

The settings seem to be there properly, despite the error message, but they have no effect on navigation or access time.

The two laptops are running Windows 8 with local accounts for the parameters.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Firefox behaves differently on computers

I use Firefox on all my devices. (Thanks!) I just got a book of Surface. Tried to connect to sites I normally connect with my laptop and phone, tablets: google, gmail, etc.. Get an error message saying there is a problem with the site certification (and I should get outta here). Why don't I get the same error message on my other devices?

Is this problem only with Google sites, or many other HTTPS addresses as well? When you get this for virtually all secure sites, the problem is usually as follows:

    (1) error of date, time, or time zone who throw checks validity of the certificates of your system. Sometimes allowing to use a timesource on the internet, the computers can introduce this problem.

    (2) not be set up to work with your security software that intercepts and filter secure connections from Firefox. Products with this feature include Avast, BitDefender, ESET and Kaspersky. AVG has a shield search function which can cause this error on search sites.

    (3) 10 Windows, Firefox does not put in place to work with Microsoft's parental parental control software. (To test by turning it off, see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../turn-off-microsoft-family-settings)

    (4) malicious software on your system for the interception of secure connections.

    So... who is?

If you have any of these specific security products, which would be the first thing to check. We might be able to help with specific next steps based on what you have if you tell us.

To collect information, you could inspect a specimen of the certificate to see if that points to the culprit. If you want to try it now, here is how I suggest to start:

Load my test page at: https://jeffersonscher.com/res/jstest.php

You will probably get an error page. Expand the section "I understand the risks" and look for a button Add Exception.

Note: You don't need to complete the process of adding an exception - I suggest not adding one until we know that it is not a malware issue - but you can use the dialog box to display the information that makes Firefox suspicious.

Click Add exceptions and exception certificate dialog box should open.

Click on the button display. If the view is not enabled, try first the button get certificate.

This should display the certificate. Look at the section "issued by" and the Details, the hierarchy of certificates tab. What do you see here? I have attached a screenshot for comparison of screen.

  • Mozilla site does not display correctly

I just installed Windows 10 (64 bit) on a new PC and downloaded and installed Firefox. I tried to install some add-ons, but immediately found that the Mozilla Web site did not display correctly: text is displayed, but not graphics.

    I tried the following:
    -disabled the firewall (ESET)
-deleted the cache and remove all cookies
-uninstalled Firefox, deleted the user and re-installed Firefox profile
-a confirmed that "load images" is set to "Allow" on the table in the Page Info permissions for mozilla.org

I've attached a screenshot of the Network Console, which shows beams with zero file size. This suggests a possible cause of the issue?

Can you help me with this, please?

I think that the lock bar icon indicates a problem with connection to the style sheets in mozorg.cdn.mozilla. NET. You get a connection error secure loading one of these stylesheets directly?

    https://mozorg.CDN.Mozilla.NET/media/CSS/home-bundle.063ce4c50b67.CSS

A sucessful load looks like a wall of text starting with:

    @font-face{font-family:'FA-Icons-Home';src:url("/media/

ESET is a potential suspect in any secure connection because, by default, it intercepts all navigation connections to filter harmful content. However, if the problem is ESET, then you would encounter problems on all secure sites, so ESET might not be the culprit here, if this does not affect other HTTPS connections.

10 Windows, one of the possible causes of the errors of secure connection are not set up Firefox to work with parental parental control of Microsoft software. More information about this feature: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/turn-off-microsoft-family-settings

Is there a broader model? To continue the investigation, you may inspect the certificate on another site that makes it easy, as my test page at: https://jeffersonscher.com/res/jstest.php

Assuming that you get an error page, expand the section "I understand the risks" and look for a button Add Exception.
