I understand that the test from the button Delete is missing from the bookmarks menu icon box. (name here)

I might suggest first to make sure you're up-to-date on the 40.0.1 version. If the problem persists, start safe mode problems:

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • Firefox is empty in Windows 10

I read the thread on the blank screen in Windows 10 after waking from sleep, but I encounter the same problem when the computer is always awake. It was an upgrade on Windows 7 site and this is the only problem I have encountered. The system has a motherboard with a processor of 4770K Core i7, 8 GB ram Ivy Bridge. The video is a Radeon HD 7850. I use the current version of Firefox and have the latest video driver. If I open Firefox and walk for a few minutes, I often return to find the empty window. I can click on the upper right and close the window and everything is OK on Firefox restarts, at least until what it turns off again. Disabling hardware acceleration has not seemed to work for others.

It could be a corrupted file was replaced. As long as it works.

  • Startup of FireFox as empty after I changed the settings with the word chrome

My problem went from bad to very bad as follows
    (1) when I pressed a new tab, Firefox would add a chrome url address that I didn't.
So I did some research and it seems that I need to change browser.newtab.url and set it to "subject: empty.
    .
This would have been fine, but I went far
    (2) I did a search for the word "chrome" and a lot of parameters came I went and changed anything, I could and make their framework "subject: empty.
    .
When I restarted Firefox, then it started as a small square box and there is nothing in it. No menu, no shortcuts, just nothing.
So I thought I would uninstall and try the latest version.
    (3) in the control panel and uninstall then install version 33.
And it is still a small box without content. It is as if the parameters were still held, even if I uninstalled and reinstalled a new version.
    .
So my question is this. Is it anyway back to get out of this mess?

Hello, please go to your profile folder (profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data) and rename the file named prefs.js in something like old prefs.js.

Please keep references to chrome: / / in the default configuration because they are necessary for the proper functioning - those who are not related to the named browser in a similar way by the competition: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Glossary/Chrome

  • When I change the battery on a power outlet, Firefox is empty, I close firefox, the "do you want to close" box is empty, too.

I can't change current alternative to battery without incident. When I change the battery on a power outlet, Firefox blinks several times then turns off. To close the browser, I click on the 'X', which fortunately remains, and that the box "you want to close" is empty also. I hit enter and Firefox closes. I reopen and select restore previous... and I can continue. Just something I've ever known, do not know how to fix it. Sometimes, if I reduce the browser (""-"") at the top right before plugging in my diet, I can work around this problem. Sometimes he waits until I have maximize the browser, and again, it flashes and turns off anyway.

Hello numberonejason, this is perhaps a problem with hardware acceleration. try updating your graphic driver, or in the case where this does not resolve the problem, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.

  • Browser Firefox always empty even after full reinstall

When I run Firefox, the browser window opens all whites, who quickly turns all black. None of the menu items, tabs, buttons/bars appear at the top of the window - although hotspots are there, hidden, because hovering help appears if I make an assumption with the cursor. If a chance opens a new window, it's also completely black.

I uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox but this has not fixed the problem. Internet Explorer is working just fine so I have switched to that as a temporary fix, but have lost my favourites.

  • Why Firefox suddenly empty - no address bars, research or tool uninstall/reinstall d/n is resolve - now only v 3.6 will work?

I've been using the latest version of FF and last week, the browser froze and when I restarted it was completely empty. I went through the help section, tried to uninstall manually by deleting files and reinstall several different versions, but the only one that will work at this point is 3.6.28. Your help sections and non-existent customer service SUCK - I don't have days/hours to mess with this and will completely abandon FF if adequate assistance is not received quickly.

Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible:

    • Firefox > Options
    • "View > toolbars".

Alternatively, you can check for problems with the file localstore.rdf.

  • 50 Firefox on Win10 now refuses to open files the

FF50 on Win10 will not open local files, such as file:///C:/Users/MN/Documents/something/index.html. She claims that the file is inaccessible. No problem on macOS 10.12.1. It's VERY new behavior - I've never had this problem before. I run an application that produces web pages, and I need to preview them before you download, it is a MAJOR obstacle. Chrome and Edge have no trouble with that.

I think it's done for reasons of security, but I need to be able to ignore it. I'll take the risk.

    If you start from

    file:///C:/

You can navigate your way to this folder? To what extent can you get?

For the love of science, could test you a few other methods open index.html in Firefox to see if none of them work:

    • Double-click the file in Windows Explorer (if Firefox is your default browser)
    • in Windows Explorer, right click on the file > open with (if indicated)
    • Drag - move the file in Windows Explorer to a Firefox tab
    • in Firefox: File menu > open the file (or Ctrl + O)

One of the changes in Firefox 48 + title is e10s, separating the browser interface process the process of content page (happy process move plugin - container.exe). When you first install Firefox (or empty your profile), Firefox evaluates if your system is compatible with e10s and sets a flag to enable a at your next session. That would explain how the second run was different from the first, so let's check on that.

    Are you using e10s?

You can check if you have this feature enabled as follows. Either:

    • button '3-bar' menu > '? ' button > Troubleshooting Information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press enter/return

In the first table on the page, find the line "Multiprocess Windows" and see if the number on the left side of the fraction is greater than zero. If so, you are using e10s.

    If you use e10s:

To determine if this feature is causing this problem, you can turn off as follows:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the cars and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 to switch the value from true to false

Note: the exact name of this preference may vary, but it will start by browser.tabs.remote.autostart

On your next startup of Firefox, it must be run in the traditional way. Any difference?

all files named from the old profile are new profile when firefox look any of the bookmarks etc are displayed - what to do now?

"... "'old' files appear in the new profile but are re-created after firefox starts empty.

Sounds like Firefox cannot have been closed completely when the files have been copied, or the copy and replace files with the same name did not. Windows should have asked if you want to replace each old file with the 'copied' version, and that didn't happen to you ignored.

Or you copied the files in the profile \Local Sattings\App Data\ folder and not the profile folder OK \App Data\ - , but that would not have re-created empty files.
