  on orasbo2 netstat - na | grep 21

  To activate it.
  Solaris 10:
  svcadm enable ftp

  Solaris 9 and below:
  Edit /etc/inetd.conf to ftp uncomment the line following and restart (kill - HUP) inetd

• FTP does not connect with the upgrade to 8.02

  I have IE7 installed (Firefox is still better) so I just upgraded to 8.02 Dreamweaver so it would save my FTP log in settings. Now, it connects to my server at all. I was better before the upgrade. Any ideas?

  My firewall, ZoneAlarm, was leaving for the installation of the version 8.0.2 and I couldn't ftp with DW but I could easily connect via my browser. I am back ZA and ftp in DW8 has worked well. No matter what. Just another example of insolent computers!

  Server remote root directory must be specified in the definition of your Site.

  Site > new Site or manage Sites...

  The directory may be public_html or www or htdocs or something else.  If in doubt, ask your hosting provider.
