  Believe me it is not easy to provide any reasonable explanation. Maybe you should contact codemasters support. Usually after the release of the game display settings should be as before.   Drag a color in one of the "ink" for future use.

  Select the cells you want to fill and drag a color saved ink in these cells.

  I would visit would be the web site of the manufacturer of your computer to see if updated drivers are available for your videocard etc.. If you're up to date I would try disabling Aero to see if your flicking screen stops. If you see poor display by using the palette of Aero color quality, try to change to another game of colors, such as Windows Vista Basic, to see if performance improves.
