My guard computer shut down unexpectedly when I play games. Now it is not always the case, just sometimes. The other day I was playing Sims 3 all day, literally, with the graphics settings maxed out and had no problem. The next day, he would crash as soon as it finished loading, even with the graphics settings at the bottom. Today, it was working fine this morning and now it crashes again. I had the same problem on and off with other games as well, Halo 2, Kings Bounty, UT 3. Here is my system:

RAM - 4 x 1 GB PC6400 DDR2/800
MB - MSI P7N SLI - FI
HARD drive - 150 GB x 2 (Raid 0) Raptor 10 k RPM
PSU - 1000 watts
GPU - NVidia GeForce 9800GT 1 GB (x 2 in SLI)
And the error I get from Event Viewer:
Filter event with the query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA 'Win32_Processor' AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace '//./root/CIMV2' because of error 0 x 80041003.» Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is resolved.
I got the error almost everyday since I got the computer, about 10 months ago, but it only blocks the computer if I play a game. I tried the 'fix' that removes the WMI event viewer 10 error, but everything done was make sure the error is not logged. I also tried another fix I found me delete the files in the repository, but that no longer works. I also run scans of complete system of virus/malware Spybot Search & Destroy and AVG 8 and verified the updated driver for my hardware. I also ran diagnostic tool memory. Who has good/clean/current. Can it be fixed or what I have to reinstall the OS?

The first thing that comes to mind would be to check the motherboard manufacturer for an update of the firmware/BIOS.
The error message mentions "loadpercentage > 99' which looks like you are running may at maximum load of the CPU while the game and that is the cause of the crash. You could try a clean boot to prevent the using CPU resources while you play to see if it makes a difference of strtup programs.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual.
Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.
If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.
a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.
b. click Start collapse this image enlarge this image, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

e. click OK , and then click restart .
Step 2: Enable half the services
a. follow steps 1a and 1B to start the System Configuration utility.
b. click on the Services tab and then click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box.
c. Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.
d. click OK and then click restart .
Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns
If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the Service list.
If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the Service list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.
If only one service is selected in the list of services , and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.
Step 4: Enable half of the startup items
a. perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.
b. click on the Startup tab and then click to select half of the check boxes in the startup item list.
c. click OK , and then click restart .
Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns
If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have originally selected in the startup item list.
If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the startup item list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.
If only one startup item is selected in the startup item list, and you still experience the problem, start selected in the list element is the service that is causing the problem. Go to step 6.
If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be causing the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting the hide all Microsoft services check box in each step.
Step 6: Resolve the problem
After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.
Step 7: Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER
on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause

Computer shuts down unexpectedly and does not start
I have a gateway NV52 running windows vista Home premium 64-bit.
It is about four years old.Lately, I'll work on something, and the computer turns off without any warning. If not off, but just completely turn off as if it was a desktop computer and someone he disconnected.
The last time he does, when I tried to put it back to it gave me a blue screen. Time thereafter, it gave me an error message saying 'Windows failed to load correctly' and gave me the ability to "repair windows" or "start windows normally". When you select the option the computer immediately turns off again.
After about three hours, I tried to start again and got the same error screen. I chose "repair windows" once again, and launched a sort of auto repair program. After some time, he said it was over and I have to restart my computer. I rebooted and was able to boot up properly.
I'm not sure that the problem has been corrected, because other than the unexpected interruptions, there was no sign of distress beforehand. My computer was working normally, and there is no virus/malware/etc.

Generally, a system shutdown complete is the result of a hardware such as feeding problems, overheating or other material failed the system. Just to check that it is malicious not associated, run a complete virus scan on the system. If the system continues to stop, then I suggest you call the manufacture of equipment and ask them to help you run hardware diagnostics. -

It could be that the computer is running a little on the hot side and the thermal protection has kicked. One of the down sides to get a pre-generated computer who is yo have no control over the thermal limits. Try to blow out the dust accumulated inside the computer, just him ensure that the computer is turned off and unplugged before you open the side of your computer. You might need a couple of compressed air or one of these mini vacuum computer systems that can act as a fan as well. I hope this helps.

After that connect to my home computer, I try to do some thing/all and it turns off. screen empties and turns itself off. I then restart the computer by turning the button and after the same amount of time it turns off again. It continues to be. I run a scan complete using the basics of microsoft X 2, but it continues always to be.

I'm almost positive that this is not caused by MSE, and probably not even by malicious software. Your best bet is to assume that for the time being and come back here if it's proven to be an infection or that MSE is the cause. The same thing happens if you start in Mode safe mode with networking?
My first inclination is a certain type of hardware problem or pilot - that's what I would put my money (even though it may certainly be associated with software/OS).

COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY, BUT STAYS ON USING AN EXTERNAL FAN BLOWING INTO IT
I have HP Pavilion P6130Y desktop for a couple of years now where later it turns off after about 10 minutes of being on. Once it turns off, it will remain only for a few seconds. The internal fans work properly. I opened the side panel, cleaning of the computer and the dust in the fans and put a regular House external fan blowing into it. With this fan blowing into it, the computer stays on and works perfectly. Any know if this is related to a heating problem or is there perhaps any other question that the computer might have? If so, should what parts I replace?

Check with HP support, their documentation online and ask in their forums known issues.
As it works with the fan added either something is too sensitive to normal even heat, or the
computer generates just on the edge of the system, or both.Certainly a hardware problem.

No error code, the computer just died. No change of reasent and I did a scan for viruses with avast and defender.
It is a hardware problem. It could be a bad video card (where I'd start troubleshooting) or something else. You can solve yourself or take the machine to a local professional. Do not use a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place.

Try to update of Itune, update got stuck, I turned to the computer off, impossible to restart... the indicator stops about 2/3 of the way and the computer shuts down again...
