• Import photos, but they do not show in the library

  I use Lightroom 2.7.  Until today, the import function worked fine.  I added two pictures my D700 RAW (NEF) files to my

  hard drive and even today, when I imported into Lightroom, they seemed to be imported, but folder names do not appear in the library of files list.  The only way I see pictures is in the list "recently changed" even if they have not been changed recently.  So if I want to treat one of them, I can't find them.  I tried to import a second time, but it made no difference.  Anyone got any suggestions?

  If you have added metadata to import, they will show also recently updated the. Try looking at the metadata of a file by using the quick preset describe. One of the fields is the folder, click the arrow next to him to go to the file of the folder is in.

• Sync folder - shows new images, but they are not

  Lately I have had a few records that I could make a virtual copy or add metadata - when I right click to synchronize the folder, the shortcut menu shows that it is 30 new photos to import. When I click the sync button, the screen goes through the import phase and then a dialog box comes up saying no. Photos or videos found.

  No harm seems to come from this, but it is kind of annoying, and I still wonder and worry that I might be screwing something up?

  I checked and in a first time was surprised by the differences... but on further examination, it seems that they are the same except that finder has all the files, .xmp... then Yes, they are the same numbers in all cases, I checked.

  The text at the top left States the number of images in LR film now showing in a given folder (or collection) vs. the total number. It's maybe less, due to the stacking, or due to a display filter.

  OTOH, the total number of images LR can be easily larger than the number of presents, if some of these images in LR are virtual copies of image files.

  In addition to XMP sidecar files number of files Finder can also reflect sidecar JPG files, if you shot Raw + JPG. Unless you chose to see these independently within LR, they won't have the count of LR. Also other programs use their own, named differently, metadata sidecar files. County of LR may of course include images in subfolders, or not.

  The actual file content matching, with what we see within LR, so is quite problematic and indirect. Is IMO better to think the concept of file in LR, as a report database that was executed. No, 'what is in this folder"- but that, ' what are the pictures of this catalogue currently claim to be associated with this folder." This is how LR can always keep such a number, even though the record and the affected files are offline / missing.

• I have a XP and suddenly the cd player does not work. I put disks in it, but they do not appear in media players. On my computer, it shows that the drive is there.

  I may get paranoid, but the player made a weird noise the first time I start my pc and noticed that the drive is not play discs. It has burned or broken some how? Is it possible for me to confirm that apart from go to a store and pay someone to check this?

  Thank you for your message.  It could be that your player has gone wrong, you have another computer that you could test with?  Otherwise, you could check the Device Manager to see if it could be a driver problem (steps below).  Click HERE , and then run the FixIt!
  Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
  Click on Device Manager.
  Do you see a yellow! next to your CD/DVD drive?  If so, you may need to go to your computer manufacturer's website and download the latest driver/firmware.  Is it permits?  If this is not the case, turn it on and test.

  Of course, you use a disk. When you import, you place a copy of your photos on your computer's hard drive (or external hard drive). The meaning of the error message seems very clear. What part of this do you not understand?

  I have a photo library on an external hard drive. I've slowly been import previews of the photos selected from the library in my catalog, adding them during the import process - well. But now, I hit a problem. Another folder in my library contains several subfolders, each containing a number of photos (a mixture of RAW steals (naves) and jpg). I was importing found in my catalog each Subfile in turn, using the Add function, usually of the jpgs only from each Subfile. It works fine, until I reached a particular Subfile. For some reason when I try to import from it and select the secondary file as a Source, only the RAW (NEF) images appear in the preview pane (sorry, forgot the correct term for it!). I know that jpg files are in this auxiliary file on the external hard drive, because when I view its content in Windows, they are all there. But try as I can (choose the file under source, select the folder parent as a source, try to copy or move them, instead of adding them), nothing seems to work. Since they do not appear in the preview pane, I can't import them. It does appear that this a Subfile where the problem exists, but I don't see anything that is different from the others (names of files under all use the same structure - yyyy-mm-dd_custom name, and pictures in all subfolders are adopting the same denomination structure too - yyyy-mm-dd_sequential number_custom name.) NAVE/JPG. So what I am doing wrong? Any ideas please.

  It is possible that the images in this particular subfolder were taken in your camera in RAW + JPEG.  If so, you will need to go to preferences under the general tab and make sure the box "processing JPEG files files next to raw as separate photos" is checked.

  

  However, assuming that this is the case, there is really no reason to import the JPEG file if you already have the RAW file.

  What happens when it stops it is have a Sata driver. It is on the drivers cd you received with your computer. You can also start the computer and press F2 to enter the bios. From there down to Configuration system - SATA Operation and change this to ATA. It is located to AHCI. Save the changes and restart the installation. Once you have loaded Windows and drivers installed, you will need to go back to AHCI.

  It is possible that you clicked the 'Block Images' item in the context menu by attempting to save an image.
  Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > content: Load Images: Exceptions - see the web content, pop-ups, fonts and language settings

  A way to see what images are blocked is to click on the favicon (Site ID icon) on the left side of the address bar.
  Click on the "More information" button opens the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "tools > Page Info").
  Go to the tab Media of this "Page Info" window.
  Select the first image and scroll though the list with the arrow pointing downwards.
  If an image in the list is grayed out and there is a check mark in the box "block Images of..." and remove this mark to unlock the images from this area.

  I think that there is another aspect of different threads, but I can't find a specific answer.  My apologies if this is a matter of repeating.

  (Windows 10 6 Lightroom under the aegis of the CC, the pictures stored on an external drive, LR catalog on disk C).

  A single folder, which contains 44 photos, now appear only as 1 image in LR library.  If I go into the folder that contains 44 photos on the external hard drive to a re - import ('all images' search), 43 are gray gray, who I am able to see in the library's grey dark grey.  Needles to say, I can not re - import one of these images of gray.  This suggests that LR already has them cataloged somewhere.  However, when I search for them in the LR catalog, covering all of the records, they do not show.  I have tried this on both internal and external drives.  If on the one hand, LR seems to say "I already have them", but however he can not find them anywhere.  I also tried a search of Windows files for one of the specific images, and the only place where that might be present, not surprisingly, was to its rightful place on the external hard drive.

  My other files work fine, I have not moved the folder in question, it worked perfectly for a couple of days.  I tried to remove the file and re-import it, but LR "discovered" again as a picture on the 44.

  At a loss as to what to do next.  Should I restore an earlier backup catalog and see if that helps?

  This happens because you have probably (accidentally) imported photos using the COPY option instead of the Add option.

  The pictures are already in Lightroom. Import again is never a good idea and will usually cause significant disadvantages. You must use the Lightroom search tools to find photos in Lightroom, and then you will be able to modify or to do something else in Lightroom with these photos.

  Here's how the search.

  1. From your operating system, to determine the exact name of the file of one of these photos
  2. In Lightroom, on the left, click on all the pictures (its under the word 'Catalogue')
  3. In Lightroom, disable all filters (once or twice Ctrl-L)
  4. In Lightroom, use the view-> sort menu command-> file name, which puts all your photos in alphabetical order by file name
  5. In Lightroom, scroll upwards or downwards in the grid until you find what a file by file name in alphabetical order
  6. In Lightroom, right click on the picture, select view in the browser, and then you will know which folder Lightroom think that the photo is in

• Export to PDF error - cannot read a jpeg image, but I do not know what jpeg image.

  I created a (A5) document in Indesign cs6 with 116 pages. Because I would like to print the book I want to export it in pdf format. Normally it is no problem for me, but now, I got the following error message: "error occurred during playback of JPEG images. Image may be damaged or incompatible. Re-save the image with different settings, and then try again. "It's pretty boring, because my book contains 631 links, most of which are .jpg. Anyone know how I can know what image gives the error?

  What is remarkable is the following. Because it is a very large file, InDesign automatically cut into paragraphs (with names like 'A5 V' or 'A5 V3'). Closer to the problem, I tried to export each paragraph (all between 3 and 30 pages) in pdf format. But I managed to do that, then you would think that there is nothing wrong with the document at all. But when I try to export the document as a whole still once I always get this error message on the JPEG image. It takes a few minutes (between 30 and 40 percent of export) before I get the error.

  Is that what I should have tried that I forgot? I hope someone can help me with this problem.

  If you are able to export as sections it is almost certainly not actually a problem with the image, but a problem not enough system resources to complete the work. It's not uncommon that large complexes PDF exports.

  Try to restart and then immediately open ID and try again the first thing of the export. If it works fine. If this isn't the case, you can combine your sections in a single PDF file in Acrobat Pro.
