my headphones stopped working.

Original title - need Audio support!

I tried to play with my audio settings without result after that my headset no longer works today. I use a computer windows 7 2000 - 299WM model laptop and I don't have enough money to go out and get it fixed, because there is that no repair place nearby and I can't wait for centuries to get it repaired. I know that the headphone jack is broken, it's not dust or anything as I have already taken off my laptop support and is in poor condition.  Is it possible to transform a my microphone jack headphone jack? I've seen people so there are 2 headphone jacks in a computer, but I have no idea how to do it. Help, please!

Hi Shane Raatz,.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

If the plug is attached to the motherboard and if this material is broken then you will need to contact the store local tech to replace the broken with a new material. If the computer is new, then you must contact the manufacturer of the computer for more help.

On the Windows Vista-based computer if you have a Jack to work then probably the guy from the store tech may be able to help with transplantation of helmet.

Keep us in the loop to help you further.

    Hello

    Try the following.

First of all, disconnect all external devices.

Then download IDT Audio Setup on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop and unplug the power adapter.  Keep the beats and the button / stop for 10 seconds.  Plug the power adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click set as default.

Check if your headset is working.

    Kind regards

  • With the new updated my headphones stop working and I have to reboot to get back them on. Speakers continue to work. Looks like a fax under water.

After downloading the new update, my helmet randomly began to lose the sound and I get this sounds like a fax under water machine and I do not have what I was listening to. I have to shut down my computer to do return normally, only to have to chance to do it again. The computer stops you can hear a popping sound. I went back to an earlier backup and have not installed the update for a day and it was working very well again. Then I installed the update again and a few hours that has started to happen again. I went back to the previous record and have not installed the update for the last 3 days and no problem. I would like to be able to install the update but not if it means losing her and having to close. I watch TV on my computer and it of a huge pain to get a film loaded only to stop because I can't hear it, then reload and maybe 20 minutes. or an hour later same thing. And it seems to be quite random when it happens.

    Hi carmenoshea,

Thank you to contact our support, I'm sorry to hear that he had a problem with the audio after the recent update of version 27. Difficulty common audio and video questions

I found an old bug with similar issues, but it is not the current version. For more information, what kind of video/audio you play when this happens?

Please make sure that when you update all the plug ins are updated as well.

  • Audio has recently stopped working on macbook pro 2014, Win7 x 64

Material: Retina Macbook Pro mid 2014-15 "2.8 GHz 16 GB of RAM

Software: Mac OS + installed bootcamp Windows 7 business N SP1 64-bit with latest updates attached to the field

Audio worked absolutely the facility for a year or two. Just recently the speakers and headphone stopped working and SPDIF red light of the headset jack is now constantly lit (did not use to be informed in all). Maybe happened as a side effect of windows update, update of apple or software update or demand of the NVIDIA driver installation.

What audio drivers should I have installed Bootcamp software support for MBP mid 2014? Real audio hardware is present on this MBP - Apple card is vague on this point?

When scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager the same driver is always automatically reinstalled. There is no option to delete this. The driver update has no effect. The device is shown as working properly. There is no errors and there are devices of reading for the speakers, headphones and SPDIF, but no audio exited actually.

    • High definition audio
    • Manufacturer Microsoft
    • Location 0 (internal high definition Audio Bus)
    • version 6.1.7601.17514
    • day 11-19-2010

There was also a Microsoft device system speaker (don't download reinstalled during the analysis of new equipment) and nvidia audio drivers (for audio output HDMI).

An additional symptom - connect headset does not show the helmet as playback device as a playback device connected as I expect.

Is it possible the Bootcamp software support has failed to reinstall the audio drivers correctly? Can I get a feedback or a software Bootcamp Support log to see what's happening?

A Windows somehow got locked in a SPDIF output? This cannot be a purely material error as MacOS still work very well?

Other measures to diagnose this problem?

A few steps I've tried without success:

    • Check all volume and mix parameters
    • Roll back these recent software installations
    • Watching installed the drivers in Device Manager - all audio devices are shown as working properly analyze, because material changes do not find any additional sound hardware to configure. Update driver drivers online research is not to find an updated driver.
    • Using an another USB audio device - this device works great
    • Reboot under Macos - built in speakers very well work
    • Restart in SafeMode the Windows - audio device does not appear to be installed (maybe the driver no is not supported in safe mode).
    • Reset the NVRAM (restart with option commmand PR)
    • Reset the controller of the SCM
    • Run the restore of the system - restore points fail to restore with the exception of a few of the latter that does not solve the problem
    • Uninstalling all audio drivers and re-run bootcamp support software setup.exe (the older version of download 5.1.5640 which seems to be the only one who supports my hardware/windows 7 x 64 combo)
    • Back the NVIDIA driver to the version provided with the support of bootcamp software
    • Intel chipset installers running provided with the support of bootcamp software
    • Assistant Configuration boot camp running on Mac OS to get the latest drivers - fails because does not support my combination of material and win7 x 64 as documented on Apple support pages
    • Not running Apple Software update - no update is available for all drivers.
    • Don't run Windows update - no update is available for all drivers

If the red light goes out in OS x but not in Windows, it seems to be the State of the combined analogue/digital port stored in the Windows registry. On W7 on a 2013 rMBP (he has the card nVidia 750 m), this is what you should see your Audio devices.

  • Headphobes stop working

So now he has to reproduce. Headphones stop working. It doesn't matter what type I plug.
This happened a few days ago and I did a full reset of the phone (factory reset) using Mac bridge. It resolved the problem for four days. Now I have is broken again.
What happens is the work of helmet or headphones after a reboot of the phone but a disconnected I need to restart the phone again so he can find the headset.
I have also some strange problems with WiFi. He just failed to connect to my WiFi (one of the networks) and it used to work flawlessly. Two issues seem so appear together. And it happens at night when I keep the phone charging in the magnetic charger.
Phone works fine one day, go to bed and put it in the charger, when I wake up and don't get the phone no WiFi and headphobes will not work.

    Really boring.

Hello and welcome to the community! Since you are new, please make sure that you have checked our Forum.

As questions remain after the reset, I think that this must be examined and fixed to a repair center. For more information on how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Dear friends! I bought a new Blackberry Q10 just a return of the week and it was on 10.2 os and worked very well, he made me a 10.3.1.1779 update which was about 1.5 GB and I opted for it. My headphone stopped working after the successful update. Besides that everything works well and good. I tried another helmet, cord to the and also tried to wipe off security and hard reset, but nothing helped. I am very worried and looking for help. Please guide me what should I do? Either it's a hardware problem or software related? PS each time as I use headphones it detects, by pressing the button answer on phone headset also Assistant bb opens but sound is not dating a helmet! What ahould do? My phone does not come in the warranty.

Try different helmet "well known." If those who still fail in your device (but work well in another device), then the deduction becomes one of the devices, which of course we cannot do something internet remotely. Since you say that you have no warranty, you are then looking for a local store (to you) with a technician that you trust and ask them to go to a good assessment and estimate.

    Good luck!

  • Yoga 3 Pro: speaker stopped working (headphone jack still works)

Recently bought Yoga 3 Pro (Windows 8.1) the Lenovo Web site (2 months ago).

The speaker worked fine until yesterday. All of a sudden, the speaker stopped working, after I used the headset.

Now, only the helmet works and no sound can get out of the enclosure.

I updated the driver from RealTek speaker to a new version 9/2014. It did not help.

Does anyone have an idea on what could be the cause and how to fix it?

    Thank you!

My problem has been resolved to back the audio driver (which has been updated
through Windows Update automatically) to the factory default. The speaker
works again once the default driver has been reinstalled.

Now, one thing to note is that you must also disable the automatic
"update driver in" System Properties "==>"Material"==>"Device"tab
Installation settings"==> no, select"Let me choose what to do"==> and
Then select "never install driver from Windows Update." and ensure
"Automatically obtain the device app and info provided by your device.
Reference the manufacturer"is checked. This will not prevent the driver gets automatically
modified by Windows Update after your next reboot.

I hope this helps fix your situation also.

BTW, the likelihood of a material defect (speaker) is very very low...

    Good luck!

    Hello

The sound on my hp envy 15-3040nr has just stopped working. I reinstalled the sound drivers, checked to see if the speakers have been disabled in Device Manager and used the tool to troubleshoot the system and security. None of them helped. Its also not working with headphones.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then proceed to a "forced Reset" by holding down the power and time for 10 seconds.  When done, plug in the adapter.

'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  • Internal speakers Satellite C640 suddenly stopped working

    Hi friends,

My satellite c640, internal speakers suddenly stopped working but works fine when the headphones or external sources are connected
    Is this a hardware problem?

I m using win 7 64 bit and I tried to install the drivers but seems to be a hardware problem

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I don't know if it is a hardware issue of m.
You may need to check certain settings.

In Control Panel-> sound-> the Read tab.
You should see the speakers selected as the default device.
You can also click these speakers to the right and you should see a few options:
    Speaker Setup
    test
    Disable
    and so on.

Test the speaker first. In my case, a short tone is displayed. You can also mark the speaker and click the properties button. You will see a second window with tabs. Check the second tab called LEVEL. Here, you can change the sound level.

What happen exactly when you try to reinstall the sound driver? You get errors?

  • Satellite C650 - sound suddenly stopped working

    Hello.

I bought this laptop the month last November.
in any case, around a week or two ago, the noise suddenly would not work.

He started making strange noises when I put in the headphones and speakers just made no noise at all never.
I did a lot of weird things - like system restore, reinstall audio drivers but nothing worked until I updated the bios, then everything went well and the sound worked again.

However, today, the sound suddenly stopped working again. I tried to re - install the current bios but InsydeFlash says: "the version of the ROM file is the same BIOS version" and just closes.

I searched the internet for an older version of the bios, but when I try to install it, InsydeFlash said: 'the version of the ROM file is not newer than the version of the BIOS' and of course, I know that but then it closes too!

I'm not really good at computers or anything, any help at all would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I recommend checking some options first;
-check if mute is not activated
-check if all the volume controls are set to a higher value
-check if the sound using headphones

If this is not successful, you must reinstall the audio driver.
First go to Device Manager and uninstall the audio driver. Restart the device
Download the audio driver from the Toshiba page, then reinstall it. Reboot once again and test the sound.

    Hey Buddy,

You may notice the same behavior if you connect headphones or external speakers? Maybe it of just a bad setting and sound with external devices, you can test this.

Also have a look on the Windows sound settings. You can change the balance between the left and right speakers.

If he s really a hardware malfunction, please contact an authorized service provider. Guys will have to repair your laptop (free) warranty.
