My laptop's hard drive crashed and I changed the hard drive and as I was not provided with my laptop recovery disks, I loaded windows 7 Ultimate x 64.

I tried to download the drivers from the HP site for everything and loaded AMD HD Audio device AtihdW76.sys version 7.12.0.7718 now I have no sound from my loaudspeakers, but can not hear by earpeace.

Can you please inform me of all solutions to address this issue.

Hello

Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50642.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion dv6 3130sa & update driver for Ralink RT3090

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 3130sa.  I tried to update the driver for Ralink RT3090 (suggestion of automatic update of Internet HP site) but have so far been in vain.

The software has downloaded, but does not seem to install it.

I did an uninstall through the Windows Control Panel, but it would seem that this has not been a complete uninstall.  I mention this is that when I try to download the new driver (taken from the site of HP), he identified the part of the download was already on the laptop.  Once more, the installation process didn't all. (The site HP tells me always the driver update is always necessary).

I can still access internet, but I was wondering if someone could advise me as to how I could solve this problem.  If this is not the case, this particular driver update can be ignored.

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion Dv6 3130sa function key settings

    Hello

I picked up the cell phone above recenetly and finally got everything set up how I like it, except for one thing.

F (F1 - F12) keys in the upper part of the key board is my spine.

For now, if I want to activate the sound upward or down, I'm just press F9 or F10 keys back.  The function key (fn down near the lower left corner of my keyboard) is not necessary.  If I prees the real F9, I have to hold down the fn key.

Most of the people probably don't mind that (how often do you use the F keys?).

However, I do.  I play EVE online a lot, and someone else who plays this will know that F1 to F8 are used much of the time, with F9 to F12 with less use.

In certain situations in EVE, time is of the essence, and I don't like havign to press fn to be able to switch to what anyone, that I attributed to F1 - F8.  Given that Fkey and ctrl alt Fkey is also used.  If I am pressing fn, then the alt and ctrl keys not record not to SLEEP.  And pressing Alt - F1, for example, does nothing.

Is it possible that I can spend around what the top row keys do regarding if you press the fn key?

Outside the day BEFORE, on its current setting F1 opens HPs general support request to hit and pressing fn + F1 opens the help for the program that I currently use.  Again, I want to these swapped.

I looked around Control Panel and start menu but can't find anything that allows me to set up my keys how I want that they.  Even for the 5 keys shortcut (on the left side of the keyboard), I can't find an option to change what they open...

As I read, I probably have very well explained what I'm after, but can anyone help me?

Check if you have this option in bios

    Hello

One thing that can help is the following.  Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".  Left click the device once to highlight default (it is usually 'speakers & headphones') and then click the properties button.  Click the enhancements tab and put a check mark in the box "Loudness equalization.  Click on apply to save the changes and then click OK in all other windows and see if allowed at all.

    2. Select playback device
    3. click right speakers
    4 activate and as default
    5. click apply/OK

  • HP pavilion dv6 3131tx no sound via hdmi

I met an audio problem that only started since this morning, but is very frustrating, I have my hp pavilion dv6 3131tx windows 7 Home premium, connected to my TV via hdmi, it worked perfectly until this morning where the audio stopped working through the TV, hdmi output disappeared in the sounds menu, I tried the following :

reinstall and update the drivers audio, update display drivers and chipset drivers, try the different hdmi ports and cables (to make sure it wasn't a bad cable) as well several solutions in the forums, my problem is that the hdmi output does not appear in the menu sounds and cannot be selected as default device How can I get that back?

Problem solved, high definition driver Amd was automatically disabled somehow he was reactivated by going to the Device Manager and the bottom right click on amd/driver high definition codec and pressing enable (note that there are 2 of them, a permit and a disabled person) also allow many of them and YAY dolby digital surround sound works again! After 2 days of hard to find an answer I did it myself >. >, but still having a problem where my ATI / AMD drivers will not be updated due to a conflict between the hp hardware and the ATI Radeon Hd 5650-. -.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 has just had a MS XP Update now, I have NO SOUND

New HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook running on Windows XP just had an update on 01/01/12 and the sound stopped working.

IDT High Definition CODEC shows that status is ERROR (52) and no sound.  I have a updated driver and uninstalled the device and re-installed.  It does not work.  It was working fine before the update.  Help, please.  Thank you.

Do a system restore at least a day before MS Update.Start, all programs, accessories, system system restore tools. Choose to restore to an earlier time and choose an available date before the update.

If MS downloads updates yet, choose the custom option or else display updates. It may be that MS is trying to send a new audio driver that fails. Deselect and make the ting on do not show it again... If update on XP that still offers.

If MS slides audio driver in once again, do a restore on the audio drivers in Device Manager.

    Hello

Mute key functionality is provided by IDT Audio software, so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I would try downloading and installing the following driver IDT.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp48501-49000/sp48830.exe

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.
