D530 SFF, cooling problems

I have a D530 SFF which seems to have cooling problems. I upgraded the processor a 2.66 to a HT No 3.2 and updated the bios and had no problems. Cooling problems begin a week later. The CPU fan has started to become very strong. I used a silver thermal agent to try to cool the processor, but it doesn't seem to work. I have to go back to the old processor. Other than the fan, which I intend to replace, I don't have any other ideas to lower the temperature of the unit. Is there another way to cool the unit? Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

  • Many problems with my D530 SFF, freezing and black monitor (windows xp operating system)

First off I want to start by saying that I am a complete noob when it comes to computer repair. But since it wouldn't kill me if I lost the files on my computer and I intend to get a laptop soon, I'm willing to tinker and try to solve the problem with my office on my own. First on my cpu fan had started to get progressively stronger over the years that my HDD approached capacity. And it seemed that the computer can get more hot than the optimal temperature. At the present time, I think the hard drive is completely filled and maybe ultimately causing my problems. Periodicly, I started getting messages that my virtual memory is too low and that the system could make more room. Now I clean a bit and delete files to make more room. A year and a half, this computer has not connected to the internet that last week I hung it and installed a bunch of updates automatically from windows (seemed to run more quiet and cooler). I also deleted bitdefender and malwarebytes and installed Avira. At the beginning everything worked well for a few days (some lag sometimes, but he had been trolling for a while) and that one day I left the system and did things around the House. When I came back my computer was powered down on its own. When I tried to restart led lights up and the fans and cpu but my monitor does not receive a signal. I turned the computer off checked cords, get rid of the dust in the case and that I tried to restart and got the same thing. After that, I pulled the ram and clean the slots and riser and the cd player and I tried to reboot after the installation. If I remember correctly this time the monitor received the signal, but the system froze on the start menu to hp. After that I stopped and restarted the monitor could not receive the signal. At this point, I decided to leave the 'thing' sit overnight and try again in the morning. I have two-way to ram and Board riser with those of d530 my father and got the same results. After about 6 hours or so I started the computer today and was able to start windows, but when I tried to access the control panel the system froze.  Initially, I thought that my graphics card was out, and I read somewhere else that others had similar problems when their processor is out, but the fact that windows started today left me speechless. It seems I can get liked long in the longer boot process I leave my office to sit down. What is an overheating problem?

    Hello:

Your SFF model has two known issues. The CMT is not the power supply issue.

    1. the power supply explodes and smoke if left unplugged for a long period of time, so do not leave it unplugged. There are videos of this on the internet for your viewing pleasure (say).  I had 2 of them jumping on me. Scares the heck out of you!

    2. the model is released at the time of counterfeiting capacitor.  The symptoms that you are desribing made the diagnosis of bad capacitors.

Check the PC for capacitors sealed or curved around the processor and the motherboard in general.

Here's a good article on who and what to look for. First browse the links on the left and on the right, there are pictures.

If you have bad capacitors, I would just scrap the PC. IMO not worth fixing - what with the bomb ticking power and everything.

  • D530 sff - freezes jacquard blocked screen - ideas?

    Hello

My d530 sff freezes sometimes strange blocked screen - like psychedelic colored chessboard square on a blue background with a pattern. The squares shimmer a bit (which implies some treatment?), but it's totally unrersponsive.  The fault appears randomly and does not seem related to how long the machine has been run, nor his current mission (AFAIK). I can't cause the fault.

It works under xp pro. I reinstalled xp on a different HARD drive and get the same, making me think it is not software/driver.  I've updated the BIOS, run memtest 86 + and premium 95 for hours and tests of material Inquisator and Ultimate Boot CD. They are all very well, making me think of the basic material is OK.  I considered the embedded video, but I can play movies on a network that is pretty intense...  With the lid, nothing in the area becomes too hot to the touch, although some chips and the plugs should be near 60 degrees celcius.  Radiator CPU fine to the touch.

It would be easy to give up and say it's a weird mother board failure, but before I do any ideas?  The software matches the machine has more value than the box so I would rather not throw.

    Thanks for your ideas, Mike

I extracted the zip file to install the Intel 14.16 package and installed manually from the Device Manager. Package Intel 14.17 absolutely did not work on every box of d530. This is the root of the problem which I faced instability.

You can identify the controller by checking the properties of devices in the Devices.Look system for x or exclamation next to the drivers points, or if you see instances of "unknown device".

SisoftSandra Lite will also identify the devices installed in the hardware section.

As far as bad capacitors going that visually close should be enough. Search for leakages, bulging, distortion, a brown substance on or near the caps.

So... in your systray, you see an icon of Intel graphics? That's what you should see if the graphic driver went well.

  • Win 7 Support for Intel 865 G (HP D530 SFF) graphics card

I recently upgraded my HP/Compaq D530 SFF model (small footprint) Pc in XP - PRO on Win - 7.  The upgrade was easy and went smoothly.  Update Windows automatically updated the driver ADI AC97 Integratd Digital Audio to worm 5.12.1.5410 and the driver Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet to worm. 10.100.0.0, which are listed by HP as Win-Vista certified.

Unfortunately, it didn't automatically update the driver for the hardware Intel 865 G chipset motherboard graphics.  Instead, it installs a Microsoft "generic" drivers VGA game.  My D530 SFF special is a 2.8 ghz P4 hyperthreading, but according to the HP "Drivers WEB site" (for XP), all versions of the HP D530 has the same graphics hardware. so, my exact submodel should not really matter.

Windows 7 runs strong (at least as well as XP) on this beautiful little PC.  In three days, it has generated NO 'system' or 'application' error log.  Win-7 notification Center, however, annoyingly tells me everytime I open a program of specific graphics of Win - 7 (even the game of Solitaire) that my video card is running in "software rendering" mode with NO hardware acceleration.  Even the Solitaire game runs very slowly, but it runs without error.  Microsoft "DirectX Diagnostic Utility" indicates that DirectX 11 is running correctly on my PC and it can't find ANY error.  It indicates (as I already knew) that hardware acceleration has been turned off.

I tried to run HP softpac "sp31335.exe" to load the version "6.14.10.4396 has ' graphics drivers running on this PC when installing XP.  The softpac ends before doing anything with a message that says "Unsupported OS."  Because softpac graphic drivers are supposed to be 'XPDM"consistent, I suspect they will probably work with Win - 7 (even if they are NOT supported by HP and may have some minor problems).  In any case, I would put a "restore point" and give it a whirl.  What I have to lose, because there is NO data or programs installed on this PC (clean install).  In the worst cases, I just reload Win - 7.

My problem: I can't go to the version "6.14.10.4396 has ' graphics drivers because of Installer softpac (i.e."sp31335.exe").  Is it possible that I can bypass the message 'NOT supported by the OS' and get the graphic drivers to install anyway?

Update: I solved my problem.  Even if HP has structured its executable program SoftPac (sp31335.exe) so that it will not install the version of graphic XPDM driver 6.14.10.4396 on a HP D530 with Windows 7 operating system, Intel made this driver available on its WEB site and is available for download. ZIP format.

During a search, however, I found a newer version of the Intel driver and installed.  The Windows DirectX Diagnostics utility reports NO errors and hardware acceleration has been turned on.  In addition, 96 MB of memory is allocated to graphics.  I ran for a good week with graphics performance at least equal to what was previously done under Windows XP.  Data for this download are the following:

Intel (r) 82865G Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)

    Driver provider: Intel Corporation

Apparently, Intel provided this driver to Microsoft for inclusion on the installation disk of VISTA to 865G family support (and other).  I extracted the following excerpt:

Q3: Intel provides drivers for Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (Intel GMA 900) WDDM on platforms based on the Intel 915 Express chipsets?

A3: Intel will provide support for WDDM drivers, starting with the Intel® 945 Express Chipset family and beyond. See question 5 below for a detailed explanation of the WDDM support on platforms based on the Intel® 915 Express chipsets. However, Windows Vista is supported on the Intel® 865 G, 915 G Express desktop PC and 852/855 GM chipsets chipsets mobile running XPDM (XP Display Driver Model) driver included on the Windows Vista install media. Windows Vista will install on these platforms, but advanced features such as Aero in Windows will not be enabled as XPDM drivers do not support Windows AERO.

    Hi mikeswan,

I have the Satellite A660 since October 2010 up to more than 4 months now and has never seen a such error message on my Satellite A660. Everything works fine, cooling system works normally and if not, no problem.

Nothing comes from nothing, so I think that there really is a problem with your cooling system or high temperature.

Your laptop should still be under warranty, because this new model of s. very good because I would contact the closest to what s service provider authorized as soon as possible before you get property damage due to a higher internal temperature. I think that professional people, make sure that there is no problem or get the correction of an error, please check your laptop. Maybe the fan needs to be replaced or else I put t really know.

  • Satellite A300-20 b and cooling problem

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A300-20 b and I have a cooling problem. Since I have this laptop I ve been tracking the temperature of the CPU and found out I got the maximum temperature was about 80 c. The strange thing is that the cooler starts only when the CPU reaches this high temperature, if it isn't the cold remains off.

Another weird thing is that once it is not blocking the cooler starts. It stops only if I restart or shut down the computer. Is this normal? Should I worry about something? Thank you very much for your answers.

But maybe your laptop is really overheating or clean you already? If this is not the case, to do it with the jet of compressed air. Blow gently and shortly the depression of the air holes of the case of the machine where the hollow air flows. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
I clean my Toshiba notebooks with jet of air compressed every 3 months and I never had a problem with it.

That's all I can say at the moment.

  • HP Compaq d530 SFF DIMMs do not recognize. Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit - BIOS version 02.44

    Hello HP community!

I recently got a HP Compaq d530 SFF of the company, where I had my work experience.

Fortunately, I took their offer and took the PC at home, everything was going well until I bought myself some new DIMM from ebuyer.com.

I again for a fact, the computer must DDR 333 MHz, PC2700 and it must be in DIMM format, so I went and bought 3x1Go modules. A few days later they arrived and I have them inserted in the computer, ensuring that two DIMMs was in blue locations and others (I wanted to keep a 256 MB module to) in the black sites.

I have re-inserted power cable and tried to boot the PC, he showed me a BIOS message, showing that the amount of memory has changed, since the last boot. Once the configuration is presented, he acknowledged only the 256 MB module. I then turned off the computer, and then remove the 256 MB module, to see what would happen. So, I restarted the PC, and it gave me an error (not shown) tone. To which I then tried (needles) each DIMM different to see if one of them was vice. They are all gave me the same error tone. Since then, I've been running Windows Vista Home Premium, with 1 GB (4x256MB DIMM).

Maybe someone has a suggestion how to fix this?

I've already updated the version of the BIOS at 02.44 (later I could find).

    Thanks in advance!

    Yours sincerely Simon Cahill

  • Computer laptop Toshiba Windows 7 gives a cooling problem system error and advises the immediate stop

    Hello

My laptop Toshiba Satellite L670-BT2N25, running Windows 7 message "System error" on a cooling problem, advising the immediate closure and return for service.  It seems to come on 10 to 20 minutes after coming out of hibernation or restart. Second series of apparitions that seems to follow a windows update that makes me think it's a software problem. The machine is clean, clean physically so not due to dust or poor maintenance.

Pop-up - message is constant and annoying. Machine feels hot anywhere. Never stopped because they say it would make if he got to the hot wire.

I do not play, video or use heavily for long periods... no trend about the programs you are running or use.

    Appreciate any help

I had this happen to me, and is not actually a problem with the cooling fan. There is a problem with Toshiba is going to happen if you have an update waiting in the Toshiba Service Station. Open this program and update everything he tells you. This is what fixed my problem.

    I am using a Satellite pro M10 1.5 G.
The cooler cpu or fan, makes a strange noise. It seems that some module between the wheels of a bike. It's very annoying. The pc is not so quiet as it was before.

    What can I do?

    Hello

It sounds like there is something caught in the cooling that is contagious fans the fan blades. Visually check the fans through the aspiration air grills to see if you can see what it is.

Unfortunately access to all fans will involve some disassembly so I would try to suck debris on the grids of aspiration of fan with a vacuum cleaner.

If the problem persists, it may be necessary to take the unit to a Service Agent authorized to check/replace cooling fans.

However, the solution works for only a few weeks. And then (especially if it's hot outside) the story begins again.

Any suggestions how to solve the problem once and for all? Thank you.

    Hi Greendrake,

It s really great that you are interested in your Portege M400 and you can remove it. It of really not easy and so this cannot be the people with a lot of experience.

Anyway, as you know here our forum user s only. This means that you can speak with normal people like you and me. I would recommend therefore to contact a service provider authorized in your country. Maybe the guys know this problem or something else or you need a thermal grease special because not all compatible thermal greases all cooling.

By the way: on the Toshiba site you can find a list of all service providers.

    I hope it helps. :)

  • Satellite 5200 903: cooling problem error message

a few minutes after the start of my Satellite 5200 903 (xp home sp1) an error message apears: "problem with the cooling system, shut down your system and send it to the service ' (this is a free translation of the German..) I installed a temperature control tool, the software displays the temperature of the processor about 60 ° C, but I don't hear the fan...

    Hello

You have a good chance that it is only a cooling module.
This warning message usually appears because the CPU cooling module can cool the CPU properly or it does not.
However, the best way is to contact the Toshiba service partner in your country. Ask the guys notice and I am sure that you will get an appropriate response.

  • Qosmio G10-133: cooling problem

Warning: there is a problem with the temperature contact technical support - or something similar

Looks like my original post is locked. I am now in receipt of a unit of cooling obtained from a service provider. Alas, it is only evil. I defeated the laptop and checked the basic version. I cleaned it up and put it again. To restart the laptop, I noticed that it was now less noisy. It worked, but again once I got up the warning message after about 10 minutes. I have however noticed that there is no change in the speed of the fan when the unit is powered.

Is there more than one cooling unit?

    What controls the fan speed?

It could still be a faulty fan and the replacement fix the problem or is it likely to be another fault.

    Hello

This message can appear if the cooling modules does not cool properly.
In such cases can damage the CPU!
I must first check the standby power setting if cooling is set to the next level.
I have that this will not help so I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country. Technicians must check the laptop. Eventually, the cooling module must be replaced.

    Hello

I have a VN7 - 791-G and I have a problem with it. When I start to play a game, the cooling fans is really strong, it begins to spin at very high speed and FPS is really low while the fans are so strong. For example the 'normal' it the condition works CS 120-130 FPS, fans work but not annoyingly loud and it is time when the fans are really really very strong and in the game, I have 20-30 FPS. I checked the temperatures.

It is fans are really strong one I have 20-30 FPS

It was then that it actually works as it should

If I change the video games, nothing happens even in GTA V when I have this problem I have 10 to 20 FPS on Ultra setting and low setting too. Cooling Boost tried and did not help. Each driver is the most recent. Each game uses the 860M.

Just got back my phone service, they said it was a failure of the motherboard, so they replaced.
