• R420 SNMP memory status

  I try to get the status of memory via snmp on R420, idrac7, bios version 1.5.2 firmware 1.57.57. I am able to get other statutes as cpu but memory. IDRAC-MIB that i've got has supported the following responsible OID:

  memoryDeviceStatus 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5

  but I can't do:

  and all the other related memory OID. I can see memory in FRU data but not what I would use.

  Ok. It seems that finally sorted. OID is not accessible when memory-> system memory test is disabled. Which is the default (!). Obviously, it is not editable without rebooting is a trap for production approx.

  Hi, I'm developing an app and I want to know how to get the info on the SD memory: If there is a memory in the phone, if I can write or read... or maybe in the API, I can get info.

  You can use the FileSystemRegistry.listRoots () method to determine if the user has an inserted microSD card.  If it exists, you can use a FileConnection to read and write to it.  The fileexmplorerdemo included in the JDE BlackBerry and BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse give examples of their use.

• Two questions about new Portege R700

  Hi all

  I brought a R7001F7 a few days earlier, there are a few question I hope some of you could help.

  1. the base of the laptop is not level (balanced) and oscillates to right, the rubber foot doesn't seem to be the culprit, don't know if it's badly formed chassis...

  2. the memory status shows 4 GB of available but only 2 GB usable, the speed is rather disappointed, is there a way to improve this? I miss some settings? because it is expected to reach the maximum of 4 GB...

  Did anyone of you met the above question? Since I just brought it, do you think I will return the machine or contact the security team? The problem is, I noticed these question, I am already registered in the machine on the warranty, don't know if I can still get a refund... However, I already transfer all my files system... This is why I would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice here.

  In General, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They know how to act in such situations, especially about Visual problems.

  Can you please tell us what R700 you exactly (R700-xxx). Is 32-bit win7 preinstalled on your laptop?

  What about the speed of the laptop or the performance in general? It doesn t depend on RAM only. It is very important that the preinstalled OS is properly configured. Original recovery image that you got with your laptop contains many tools and utilities that run in the background and reduce s for laptop performance.

  I recommend checking the applications running (start > run > msconfig > startup) and disable all unnecessary and utility tools. What makes the slow OS is tempro and preinstalled anti-virus software.

• BlackBerry Smartphones "BOLD" falls down too often

  I had this problem for some time. I don't remember if my phone used to hang when I bought first, but I think that this problem came later that I started using it.

  My OS version is: v5.0.0.400 (I think it was later) and platform (5.1.0.110)

  I noticed that my phone often crash when I use the browser on the phone, ex: while on facebook, it crashes just randomly and also when I use the facebook for blackberry application. It's only when I play these two tasks that my phone freezes. My phone carrier is SFR (france). When I say it crashes, I mean it hangs for one or two seconds, the screen turns white and then followed by the light. then it just restarts.

  Memory status:

  FreeSpace: 75.8 MB

  MediaCard freespace: 1.7 GB. (don't have a lot of things on my phone, I made also the memory thing cleaning but it did not help).

  I read through other similar forums but couldn't find a solution. I also tried to uninstall the fb app but the browser of the problem still there. Also it does not matter if my wifi is enabled or disabled, the phone falls down again.

  Someone could suggest a solution to this, and also why this happens only with the browser and fb app?

  First of all, this isn't the latest version of the operating system for the 9700. I know you can get OS 6, if you wish. Don't know if your carrier offers it yet or not, but many are.

  I'm going to guess that the particular operating system you are using has a problem. Try to get a new one and installing it.

• Can create manual snapshot, but VDR can't create a suspended snapshot

  If I go into the Snapshot Manager, I can create a snapshot (System Quiesce invited selected file) all day, but VDR keeps giving me the cannot create a snapshot hanging on the same server error.  I went through all the stuff for this KB.  Is there something different in the way that VDR creates a snapshot from do it manually to the virtual machine?

  If you disable the memory status and check the comments of quiesce file system option during an attempt of instant manual then it will mimic the operation of snapshot which initiates the VDR.  If, as you have indicated that always work a manual snapshot, but not in the VDR initiates, try the following:

  (1) the operation of manual snapshot as described above.

  (2) if the instant manual successfully, then immediately open the plugin VDR and trigger a manual backup of the virtual machine.  If the backup fails with instant failure, get the logs of the VDR (KB 1012282) device and open a SR

  (3) if the manual backup is successful, then it might be a matter of resource conflict when the backup window is opened as part of the operation of backup... maybe the ESX newspapers may provide a clue.

• Impossible to create capture instant for VM1, error-3941 (create the snapshot has failed)

  I vSphere 4.0.0 208111 using VDR 1.1.0.707 appliance for backup of a Windows Server 2003 SP2 with VMware tools installed (including the VSS component).

  I am unable to back up a VM, but can save all other virtual machines.

  Have tried to re - install VMware tools, ensuring Windows VSS patches are up to date.

  I can do a ntbackup to system within the virtual machine with success status.

  Impossible to find someone else suffer the same error with-3491, create the snapshot has failed.

  Any ideas?

  To simulate a VDR initiated snapshot, try a manual snapshot of the virtual machine and see if it passes or fails.  If it fails, then that explains the error 3941.  Be sure to uncheck the memory status and check the comments of quiesce file system option during an attempt of the manual snapshot because it will mimic the snapshot operation that initiates the VDR.

• Script Get-stat for VM Perfomance - Questions

  I am writing a script to get data on our virtual machine performance of the measures of depth for CPU and memory.  Its a great project task I have to do for our mgt and so I am writing a script extremely important and vital for our company.  I use the command get-stats and feedback from the messages I posted about get-stat in particular lucd and lebouf who have been very helpful.  But I have collected their answers and writes the script below.  Currently, it must be used with an argument, but I can change it later.  It also uses many counters of cpu and memory that is why it is a long script.  But I have a lot of questions on the script before I run it, I need to be clear with the data I receive in return.  The script is below:

  The questions I have are:

  The first question is I want the stats to be based on the last 7 days, so I used the .adddays (-7).  It would give me the last 7 days stats?

  In my settings of virtual center statistics, I have all interval times checked.  So if I want last 7 days stats, I would use the samples for the interval of 30 minutes duration.  Also I have not used all interval parameter in the get-stat, so my samples will be based on the interval of 30 minutes.  Is this correct?

  Also, I have not used the maxsample interval, so by default I get to use all the values in the sample, and measures will give me the average of all samples (duration 30 min) values in the last 7 days.  Is that correct. ?

  Another key question is that is it possible to get readings of samples for only Monday to Friday, from 06:00-18:00, as this is when the virtual machine is used.  I don't know how this can be done and how it can be incorporated in the above script.  Is this possible to do?

  Also about the measure-object cmdlet, I used to all counters, as for the average values of use of cpu and memory.  I also use counters for cpu and memory max.  Would I need to use the average value of the object of measures to this end, as this counter will give me the max value for cpu/memory for all 7 days, which will be a single value, because I want to know the max value, it achieved, so I don't know if I have to use measure-object with these counters, do I need to use?

  About the ready CPU meter I use, also gives the value in millseconds.  Is it possible to get loan from cpu percentage value as we see in ESXTop because it is easier to understand for the cpuready.  I don't see any counter loan as a percentage of the CPU.  Is it possible to get a value for it.

  With the - equal Start parameter to specify that you want the values from 1 day back.

  This means that you will get the values historical interval 1 and the period interval 5 minutes ago.

  It is the HI1 interval in the scheme of part 1.

  When you specify not one - Start parameter and - finishing you will in effect of the values of historical interval 4, which has a period of 1-day interval.

  In a next blog post, I will talk about default values in the cmdlet Get-Stat.

  Right now I'm writing the script that will create the base alarms (for example, host memory status) which will send SNMP trap if memory join specific parameters...

• Should the virtual computer restarts when ESX loses power?

  We are currently testing out redundancy ESX and we found is that one of our ESX goes down (loses power) the VM restarts and arrive on an another ESX.

  These should be restart?  They transferred just not on the other ESX without a reboot?   I need to know if it works as intended or if it is a problem of config on our end.

  Yes, it's exactly what should happen.  When your host died suddenly, all CPU/memory status is lost.  Therefore, they need to be restarted.  Note: HA is not VMotion.

  In future versions, you will be able to run a second instance of critical VMs on the intermediate hosts, and in case of failure of the primary host, VM secondary will pick up where the other left off... a bit like RAID-1 for the virtual machine.

• Status: \t10.0000 MEMORY ERROR POWER + can not install printer

  Hi I have a printer HP Laserjet P1102w. I have changed my router and my laptop and now am not able to install the printer on the new laptop and router.

  I tried to install from HP Smart setup via a USB cable. When I do that, I get an error message saying that the installation failed and advising me to turn off the printer, turn it back on and try again.

  I tried to reset the printer, the default settings, and then print a test page and using the IP address to access the printer. An error message says:

  Status: SUPPLY 10,0000 ERROR MEMORY

  I tried without taking this into account and going to the HP Smart Install tab, and setting up a printer in this way. When I did, I get a similar error message before saying that the installation failed and advise me to turn the printer off, turn it back on and try again.

  Could someone advise me please on what to do? Should I spent trying to get the installed printer, and then try to correct the error memory power or correct the error memory power and then try to install the printer? I am a little hate to buy a new toner cartridge, if after doing this, the printer may not always settle.

  Very good information.  Since this printer is having such a bad plug try to reset the printer first.  I have provided a link on how to restore the default printer. I had a similar with this printer problem, until I installed a very recent firmware update.  This is how I was finally able to do so, install and connect:

  1. Clicking on the tab drivers and software at www.hp.com/support and typed in my name of the printer (P1102w Laserjet) and press the Enter key.  Then, I chose my operating system (you will need to know if the type of your computer system is 32-bit or 64-bit or I would provide a link).
  2. As part of the installation of the Driver and product, I installed the drivers and software HP Laserjet full feature and proceeded to the installation using the USB key to the wireless configuration.
  3. After the test page printed, the printer disconnected from the network, so with the USB cord still attached, I went to the same download page and install the latest firmware update: Version 20130213, which went very well, I might add.
  4. Then, I went on the Start button and select all programs > HP > series HP Laserjet Professional P1100 > Configuration Wireless and finished get my printer connected to my network.

  I strongly suggest the update of the firmware.  I hope that this information helps out you.  Try the above steps and if this does not work please let me know.  I look at the error message once you're able to get installed it.  Maybe when you restore the default printer you can restart the computer if you are running low on available memory, where the error message.

• Installed new module memory for laptop, found original was bad, while windows Vista does not start by going blank after the "status bar".

  I have a Windows Vista running on a Sony VIAO laptop and has been updated with level 3 to 4 GB of memory. During the memory test, I found that 2 GB of original module was bad and replace it with the new 2 GB module end back where I started with 3 GB. However, Windows starts only at a little past the rectangle with 3 points moving ("State Bar"?) and them it goes to black and the desktop never appears. I tried to roll back to the last working version of Windows settings, but always the same results.

  What can I do now? Is there a way to check and fix disk errors?  Is it possible to install Windows XP Pro or I have to go to Windows 7.  I even has System Mechanic Pro running on this laptop and it did help some casued the problem. It's as if the disc is damaged for some reason any.  Only with Vista felt this helpless.

  It seems to me that the new memory you have installed is bad or incompatible with the system.  First, remove all chips and reinstall them and then try to make sure that they are correct and secure again - don't just press them in place, effectively remove and the replacement and make sure they are in the right direction.

  Boot from the Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc (or you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc with recovery options included in this topic. If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (perhaps made on another computer, or perhaps in SafeMode with network if it does not - that would be a good sign if it is true). You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.  Select recovery options and follow the instructions until you see the menu.  Once there, select the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and run it and see what it says.  If it detects problems (and I suspect it might), you may need to replace the new chip memory.

  I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try other options.

  Running Win 7-64 bit.  On my old XP printer there is software called Center of Solution that allowed me to view and save photos from a memory card from my camera to the PC.  I seem to be only able to load them on Snapfish on my new PC.  I installed the latest version of the software support.   It should be labeled as HP Solution Center.  Look under all programs on the start menu.  From there, find the HP folder.  You should be able to find the Solution Center somewhere in the HP folder.

• Startup problem: the status bar crashes at 3/4

  Startup gives me the login screen and once I enter the password, it starts to load. When the status bar gets about 3/4, the screen begins to blink and a white wheel appears below the status bar. It is not turning. The screen starts flashing and computer does not boot.

• Space filling without reason for memory/hard disk

  I am working with a large file MS Word (currently, it is great close to 1 GB) and every time I use the file or open it in preview, my computer crashes, slows down, and the amount of disk space hard be used rapidly decreases.  I started with 10 + GB of free space, now I'm less than 2 and get the computer error messages telling me that my hard drive is almost full.  I do not know how to find the files that are clearly in place so I can delete them.  Display hidden files did not reveal anything.  It got to the point where I can open is no longer the large file the computer tells me that the file is damaged.  Reboot does not restore the lack of available disk space.  I am at my wit's end and that you have already removed many other video files and photo I can to free up space.  If not for this problem, I'm sure I'd have at least 20 GB of free space now.  What I can do to understand where space and eliminate permanently?  I need at least another hour to continue working on this issue!

  Starting with the system will create a swap file at least as large as the file being opened. If changes are made then these files will usually stick around as auto-enregistre until the file itself is saved or closed. It is also possible that the large file pushes the other system processes in virtual memory on the disk. That said, unless there are compression/decompression funky stuff going on that I can't imagine a 1 GB file to consume more than 10 GB in "temporary" resources

  I would like to check the status of the Application ~/Library/Caches/ and ~/Library/Saved / for the missing hard drive space (you may need to use the GoTo option in the Finder).

  Usually nothing deleted in the above locations will be automatically recreated when you next run of the corresponding application, but clearing out rarely used application files could release (temporarily) a little extra space. Destruction can also solve problems of application-specific file corruption.

  Otherwise double check that you remembered to empty the trash.
