  One thing I'm still scratching my head over - beyond the horribly slow boot - is very slow access to files even though everything seems to work normally, but as molasses in January.  Looking at the performance of the Task Manager tab when I run a copy of a file (whether via a cmd window or with Windows Explorer), I see a near max processor would be and the other with a small business.  Even if the customer says he had been getting worse for some time, after checking and cleaning of all things 'normal', my next thought was perhaps a bad disk or disk controller driver, but chkdsk ran very well (although it took hours) even if I ' d I have already updated all drivers (and even the DVD firmware and BIOS) on the Dell web site.  Oh, and I ran Dell Diagnostics (from bootable CD) updates all with no errors found.  And access to the slow file even with symptoms had max-processor occur with a copy of the file on a USB key that seems to eliminiate the hard disk, the disk controller and the pilot.

  The other interesting part of the display for a file copy task manager is that the processes tab simply shows System Idle 97 to 99%, with a percentage of casual for other processes as Explorer while I see 1 max out procesor on the performance tab.  That the same copy on your desktop shows 3-4% of the CPU usage and who is with active antivirus software.  I'm almost ready to fall toward a Windows reinstall, but would like to find the real reason behind this problem of puzzle...

  For those who have enquring spirits (and anyone else who stumbles across this thread), the primary IDE controller has been set to PIO and locked it.  Who would have thought that Windows slowly reduced the transfer speed, whenever he saw 6 errors on an IDE device until it has been reduced to PIO and then he locked it?  But the procedures described in the link of winhlp.com showed how to solve the problem.

  There are actually several problems that led to the final symptoms.  According to KB817472, the Atapi.sys has been improved in XP SP2 only degrade the speed of transfer on 6 consecutive errors instead of 6 cumulative errors.  And even though everything I have (Microsoft update) was seen and showed that this area was to SP3, I found that the driver for the controller layer IDE was the SP2 version.  Someone ran sfc previously perhaps?

  Oh, and I know now that the Task Manager process tab does not time processor kernal, but the performance tab.  Good to know...

  Everything is OK apart I have a speed very very slow in the network; for example ISO 2k8r2 server transfer I take 30 minutes

  After many trials, I decided to start from scratch, I just powered on my ESXi2 machine and reinstalled ESXi 4.1U1 from scratch and I installed the Client vSphere for my Client PC which have a Gigabit Ethernet card and is also attached to the switch Gigabit however, speed is still the same, 2/3 MB / s.

  The strange thing is that also the same speed very slow, I created a Server 2008 VM and installed iperf to landmark of network and I get about 600 / 700 Mbps, so I really don't know what I can do.

  I replaced the ethernet cables, also tried to connect the cables directly to the modem and also I tried with another switch, but the result is always the same.

  Routers are NOT created equal.  There is a business reason switches cost $10,000 - $20,0000 dollars.

  Netgear router / switch is just a very BASIC.  It's not classy company.  That's your problem.  Get a better switch that you don't need to spend $10,000 but probably a few hundred... a GOOD show for home switch...

  Try all of the following conditions:

  Try to reset all the settings in the settings under general app and in the right column under restore.

  Try stories reset and delete/reset the caches in all web browsers you use.
  If you use Safari, these features may be in the application settings under Safari.
  Other browsers have their settings inside the running application itself.

  If your iPad has been activated for iCloud, in the application settings under iCloud, to the right, under iCloud Drive, type in iCloud drive and make sure that Safari is off to save data from Safari to iCloud by car.

  Also, under iCloud in the application settings, in iCloud Drive, turn the feature off saving for all other desired apps DO NOT the data automatically on iCloud drive.

  I hope that someone can help you. My computer is very slow and unstable since the El Capitan 10.11.3 patch. I am on a MacBook Pro 15 "-end 2011. The computer is particularly slow in Safari, but was slower than normal as well. I backed up my files in Time Machine to an external drive before any troubleshooting, so I'm really happy about it. The person had me clear everything and go into recovery mode and reinstall the OS. After that I had problems with closing down and restart so I reinstalled again and just have not stopped since then. I don't him have NOT YET migrated all my files back and will not until I know that the system is stable. My laptop is functional but still just very slow. Can someone please help? I'm desperate! IMacs both have a lot of unused storage and memory and I completely restored two iMacs and deleted unnecessary files, but they are very slow. I have everything back up on Dropbox and wonder now if the slowness is something to do with the combination of the signal at high speed and by using several connections of Dropbox in the House.  We have a Virgin Media Hub Super 2ac with advertised broadband router of up to 150 Mbps. I made a speed control using www.speedtest.com and the download speed is 105.81 Mbps and download speed is 9.70 Mbps. Any ideas anyone?

• Very slow ARD mouse movements

  When checking my jobs local (same LAN) in ARD in macOS Sierra the mouse movement is very slow, are not smooth at all and the STI jumping cursor.

  This was never the case with ARD in the previous versions of OS X as El Capitan. I use the exact same settings and configuration. Control ARD clients so got very boring now under Sierra.

  First uninstall CleanMyMac3. It is not necessary and can ask questions.

• Mac Mini became very slow all of a sudden

  This morning, my Mac Mini became very, very slow. It's a 2009 with 4 GB of RAM and hdd 120Gb standard.

  I run with a keyboard and bluetooth mouse and due to its slowness, I wanted to run the hardware test to see what was wrong. (As is always the original HARD disk, I am wary of its remaining life expectancy). However, everything I try, I can't start anything on the mini as a normal reboot. If I have D, hold down option-D, hold SHIFT to safe mode, nothing seems to influence his start-up.

  Any thoughts? And also, suggestions of things to check?
