My keyboard is half dead?

Hello

I have a problem.
The left side of my keyboard does not respond, keys that don't work are the caps, 1, q, tab, esc lock and the w key is sometimes buggy. (I had to type the keys does not respond using a virtual keyboard which is annoying)
This problem just happened all of a sudden, I don't remember hurting the keyboard in any question
I also cleaned up behind the keys but it does nothing to solve the problem

How can I correct the keyboard?
If you could help that would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you

> How can I fix the keyboard?

I have an E260 that I use constantly.  After having turned it off this afternoon, I discovered that whenever I try to turn it on, only the rotary volume control now on... everything else is dead or silent.

BTW if you really use the osk.exe "on the keyboard to screen' you can resize it by dragging its borders.   But I assume you really mean the touchscreen keyboard than the other because poster being too small.   So, maybe you could try the test I was speculating on, making a split screen scenario requiring a tactile keyboard - is usable touch keyboard then?

FWIW, I would me be great too, even if you use a mouse, to have a greater landing for each key area.

Also, are you talking about seeing this in an office scenario or in a full screen of the modern UI (MUF) scenario?   When I do this with MUF IE on my widescreen monitor keyboard seeks only stupid, I see the split screen, which is of course useless especially for one user of mouse is, but others seem reasonable.   Having a width TIP may seem a little extreme too I guess, but you could just write in it anywhere where you want to write. you don't have to use all of it.

Hmm...  I can't do a test for office scenario.   Whenever I try the touch keyboard ends on my Tablet instead of on the monitor where is the startup screen.   Weird.   I had to change my IE window exit full screen mode just to get on the charm of settings on this monitor (having forgotten temporarily Win - I ).

    Hello

    > Also, I found some vendors on ebay sell the keyboard for half as much as the Distributor and I'd like to know what you reccoment.

In many cases the different keyboard would be consistent, since most of them are supported the same hardware specifications.

With regard to the additional keyboard connector:
AFAIK the backlight keyboard must be connected to the additional connector called * JBLG *.
But to be honest, I have not found in on the photo that you placed in the post.

  • Keyboard does not work properly

    Hello

I had trouble getting my laptop satellite to initialize. Recovery disks & pressing F keys weren't working so I decided to open the laptop to see if there are any loose connections. To my surprise, the laptop seems to work again once I had the USB keys and put back them in! Unfortunately, before that I did, I opened the keyboard and peeked inside.

When I booted up and tried to use the keyboard keys half of their work and the other half seem to think that they represent two other keys for example if I type the letter 'E' I get '3' and '-' as a whole. After 5-10 minutes the entire keyboard will become totally unresponsive until I restart again. Of course, I think I've done something here because this problem since I opened the bottom of the keyboard. This could be a hardware failure I have caused or is anyway that this issue can be resolved without replacing anything?

    Thank you very much

    Tom

    Hi Tom

Theoretically, it might be just a connection lost between the keyboard and the motherboard, but I'm afraid, it can be a serious problem of m.
Maybe you have damaged the connector of the keyboard cable or something similar, and not the keyboard does not work properly.

I think the keyboard needs to be replaced to check if only this part is affected

    Hello

I'm sorry to hear that, but I think that these things can happen. Nobody's perfect ;)

Well, you can get a new mother card and keyboard form an authorized service provider. Technicians can also exchange parts and check your laptop (maybe other parts defective too).

Here, you can search the nearest SPAS:

  • iPad Pro keyboard on-screen despite the use of Create from Logitech

I was quick to connect a Logitech Keyboard create my iPad Pro once I had two in hand. Create keyboard worked according to expectations.

However, recently I noticed that when I have one using various applications the iPad Pro on-screen keyboard blocking half of the screen, even if I type with Create. When I clear the on screen Keyboard Pro I am not able to type with create up to the on-screen keyboard is restored.

Y at - it a known workaround to this distraction? Only, I arrived at Rome and absent an office environment have not noted the applications associated with this problem, but it includes at least Safari but not Chrome.

I also have this problem with the iPad Pro. When you use the Smart case Apple keyboard the on-screen keyboard appears.

I remember long ago when I had the iPad second and attached to a bluetooth keyboard, the keyboard on the screen went. It may be a bug that will be fixed in the next update of the operating system.

  • Keyboard driver Microsoft doesn't support Mac OSX Lion of Montain 10.8.2

Hi people, I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser keyboard 5000, which has been a boon for me over the past five years. The weekend last, everything has changed. I did a clean install of the operating system in a Mac mini, and all the special keys on the keyboard became pretty dead ever since. Deeply sad for me, because I had used more than 20 special keys by day, all the while and now they´re seems to have disappeared.

What's funny about the problem, it's that I use last update OS X because it was available, so I have the same 10.8.2 OS X that I had before the clean install, when the keyboard is quite alive. Today West only QWERTY keys available, sad and boring.

I m using the latest version of the software Microsoft, version 8.2.0 and d305 and tried to follow the suggestion to Microsoft keyboard help starting just the items of sessions, but it no longer works. Just qwerty.

Is there a way to retrieve my keyboard of dead land? Thank you very much for your attention!

  • USB keyboard stops working

I have a similar problem - USB keyboard stops working, although device manager says it's working properly. Sometimes have disconnected and reconnected it helps, sometimes not. Trackball USB stops working.  Sometimes the USB keyboard is also dead after hibernation.

This is a new problem happened after I installed Windows 7.  (I am running XP before that.)

I apologize for the late response. Thank you for any assistance.  Problem is solved!

I don't have test Gerry Cornell suggestion to plug directly into the USB port, because this problem occurs during labor when I use the keyboard and the trackball with a hub (which is connected to one of the 2 USB ports in the back of the computer via an extension through a wall to the computer cable - I access the computer in 2 different rooms). But he suggested a possible solution. I bought an inexpensive motor hub, and the problem has stopped completely.  It has not occurred during the months spent at all.

Although this problem of keyboard disappears permanently started immediately after the transition from XP to Win7, there is a hardware solution.  My guess is that with the extension and a hub not powered, there were seeds of signal, and the XP driver was better at handling what driver Win7.

BTW, the XP to Win7 upgrade has been done by installing (but does not) Vista and then install Win7 on that, as advised by Darek emulators.com.  WinXP ran SoftMac pretty badly but Win7 it runs like a champ. OS 8.1 boots in 10 seconds approximately.

  • The iPad screen

The homepage on my iPad is therefore more full-screen.

In addition, when I tap safari to research, the keyboard shows half of the way to the top of the page, or the keyboard is divided between each half of the screen.  It happened all of a sudden yesterday.

I have everything backed up on iCloud and reset everything but the problem remains.

Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Satellite 3000 - X 11: four beeps on startup, white screen

    Hi people,
    A friend gave me a laptop to try and fix. It's a Toshiba Satellite 3000 - X 11.
Sometimes, it works very well. Starts as usual.
Sometimes, quite randomly, it will not start. In this case nothing will come on the screen at startup. The fan will kick in. The screen is black and there are four beeps. About 1 per second. It is then. On, but half-dead. You can hear no time to other fan.
I read the posts on the net who suggest that this is a hardware failure any. I want to know is if there is an easy way to know what hardware has failed. Almost all of the messages I read talked about three beeps. That's four.

Does no diff if I run it from ca or the battery.

I don't know what actually started working again.

I suspect (just a hint) that it tends to stop working after it has been moved (picked up and moved to another office etc.).

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Also, is there a Toshiba diagnostic tool I can download and run that will test the machine on?

    Thank you

    Jonathan

    Hey Buddy,

If the machine is behaving really as you described then the machine has a serious malfunction. I had the same machine, a few years ago
    the same problem.
So I brought my machine to a service partner and they exchanged a few "PCB´s" as they said.
These PCB´s are, for example, the motherboard or graphics card.

If the machine you have is under warranty, you won´t have chances yourself due to defective components.

    Welcome them
