My laptop 1983 support Chrome with security patches?

I received an email from Google saying that the platform used on my laptop will not be supported with security patches in the future. What is a problem for me? I have a 1983 (white!) with Mac OS X, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz processor.

You may hear 2003?  Or 2013?  There is no Mac 1983 with Intel chips. The answer to your question is 'no, and Google told you,' but I'm curious to know what you really there.

  • Where is the support for IOS security vulnerability policy

    I am considering an iPad 2 Air for myself.

    I have many android (phones and tablets) devices that are vulnerable to the frame and the combination of Samsung or LG and carriers will not roll the provided Google of patches on their devices.  Not a single device of mine will be patched.  I will not stop to buy more devices stuck in that model of support for fix hardware manufacturer and the accepting carrier of patch.

    This only leaves Google Nexus range of products and Apple's IOS devices for review as far as I know.  Apple products are a bit expensive for me, but I may have no choice.

    I tried, but I couldn't find a documented statement of political support from Apple.  Yes, I know that they still support the iPhone 4S with IOS 9.1, but I want to see the current policy of public support.  Someone at - it links, I've yet to find?  How long is their guarantee to security patches?  I don't have the latest clever features, I want to known vulnerabilities and not-publicly-known patched.  Apple said the timeline for security patches?

    Thank you.

    To the best of my knowledge Apple never gave a lifetime for devices or for them to receive iOS updates.

    I can tell you that my iPad 2, which is a little more than 4 years, can be iOS9 and updates that come with it.

    Beyond history, there is no guarantee for a period of support.

    Hi JohnWickenden

    You can read the following article and try the steps to correct known issues with this security update:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2686509

    Important: The above link contains steps to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • Should I run F-secure and Microsoft security patches.

    Should I download the Microsoft security patches.  I have F-secure antivirus software on my computer and they said not to come in any other capacity.  I understand the issue of conflict, but I'm not computer savvy enough to know if it's antivirus protection that conflicts with F-secure or repairs for Microsoft software.  Thanks for your help!

    You should definitely download and install all the patches 'high priority' security offered by Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    You must install not "optional" updates and do not have to install updates of hardware (drivers).  If you think always that you need to update a driver, get it on the site of the manufacturer of your computer (especially for laptops) or of the author of the particular piece of hardware.

    F-Secure advises (correctly IMO) that you don't have two active antivirus applications at the same time.  Security patches and one-off analyses (for example the monthly download of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool) do not appear in this caveat.

    Change the way you receive updates:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

    Understand the Extras in Windows Vista and Windows Update info is at the link above.

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
  • Oracle RDBMS security patch reports
    Apart from the use of costly commercial vulnerability scanners, are there easy techniques to produce a user-friendly management report on what security patches are missing from a server Oracle 11 g? Or better still to produce a 'fully patched security' type assurance to management report.
    Could you provide some simple steps to make the report or management of a sample report?
    In addition, that excuse my ignorance, but I've heard systems administrators say that they often fall security patches from database that they refer, apply the hotfix could cause problems with the operation of the application, it's a legitimate concern or a load of nonsense? Have you ever applied a security patch that had an unfortunate knock on effect on the request which it gives life.
    Please keep simple answers to the DBA/management not friendly.
    Hello
    in my experience in customer support, I found that customers often confuse the severity of a vulnerability of security with the effects
    correction, for example a typical vulnerability would involve validating the incorrect settings, so it would be possible to abuse an API
    call to "do their thing", however well behaved applications never try to do more than documented, so for those the fix has zero effect.
    Also in my experience regressions are very rare and even more exceptional in patches of CPU, since they do not plan to change the
    feature but only to stop bad things or possible.
    The best practice is to catch up with the CPU patches (or power supply) as they are made available and do not fall too far behind, each time as Oracle
    emits an alert or quarterly a patch of CPU, there is a risk matrix that lists scores of vulnerability on a scale of 1 to 10
    detailing how he is this time for the CPU quarterly most people forget that it only lists the problems reported since the previous.
    then when they fall with wonder and patching, if the issue is serious enough to apply a patch for it, they forget to check
    the severity of all issues fixed since the last CPU they applied.
    The Advisor must simply apply these patches as soon as they are made available as they are low-risk and fix serious problems.
    To check which hotfixes are installed in household use of database: opatch lsinventory-patch, for example with the last power supply on 11.2.0.3 it looks like this:
    I just tried to apply the last security patch http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb06-17.html , but when the copy of the new record of Verity by following the instructions, I have been invited to enter the password "k2admin.exe. I was logged as administrator of Windows with all permissions in all areas and all the services of the CF were arrested. I added certainly not no matter what password to it. As a result, I was unable to copy the new file.
    Anyone know why this file should be protected by and how to get around it?
    Simple solution: after stop CF services but before copying the patch, move the file k2admin.exe road. Protected files cannot be deleted or overwritten, but they can be moved.
  • HP Deskjet 3055 A does not connect to the WIFI with security
    I'm trying to configure a Deskjet 3055 A on my DD - WRT router.  I am a highly qualified network engineer, so I don't know 100% what I'm doing.
    First, DD - WRT supports WPS connection, because these are very precarious.  This means that my only way to connect the pritner to my home network is to connect to my PC and use the Setup utility (downloaded from your page drivers) I use the 28.8 version.
    My router supports the 2.4 and 5 GHz and I know the printer is only 2.4 GHz.  I disabled completely the 5 GHz network in order to connect the printer, even though it shouldn't have any effect.
    I restarted my router and reset the printers wireless network using its integrated control panel.
    In any case, after a shameful 2 hours troubleshooting, I did discover that the printer WILL NOT CONNECT to the WIFI network if any security is applied against it.  It works 100% fine with open security however, it is totally unacceptable.
    I tried both WPA Personal and WPA2 Personal, both with the same effect.
    For reasons to try, I added also the printer to my network WIFI open and tried to manually change the setting WIFI via webinterface of printers, however, whenever I try and access the wireless configuration wizard, I simply get an error message saying "Internal system error" - eventually I managed to work around this another bug that has been there for years (see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Internal-System-Error-prevents-access-t...
    After installing printers web interface WIFI, the problem is always the same and it does not connect.
    HP, we were in the order of 2500 of these printers for users of our remote site.  If you don't come to the top with a quick solution/bug fixed, consider the lost business!
    Concerning
    Ian
    After playing well, I managed to find a solution for this!
    For all users who are unable to find a solution by using the other methods, here's what to do.
    Change your local network to open the safe but note your WIFI settings for your default installation.
    Connect the printer to the open network the HP software (via USB cable)
    Go to the URL of the printer, but make sure that you connect through HTTPS - if you get an internal system error, keep refreshing until it works (WHAT A JOKE!)
    Click on 'Network', then click 'Advanced' on the left.
    Enter the network settings as they need to be secured.
    Downstairs, check "in an infrastructure network, use 802. 11b / g behavior (assuming that your assisted supports g, otherwise use the b only option), then click on apply.
    Turn on your wireless security, on your router and then the printer should connect!
    I am really confused as to why this is not automatically enabled, if the printer is not working with security on a Wireless N network wireless, then have this as the default!
    HP - feel free to thank me in this post!
    Unfortunately, Halo 2 does support Windows Vista and more.  Windows XP is not supported.  There may be 3 party hacks that can make it work, but they are not taken in charge and potentially dangerous.
