  Hi, my laptop still crashes when using an external monitor. So far ive tried s-video and vga, but still no joy. This can happen after a few minutes or sometimes after a good few hours, and it seems to crash more frequently during playback of movies, games etc... I've set USB and DVD as a priority higher from startup in the BIOS. I get the alternative start menu, choose DVD or USB, but it starts just Windows 8.

  I tried to boot from an external device in settings PC - general settings in the charming bar, but it starts off directly with Windows 8 too.  the DVD plays fine films, and if I plug the boot device dvd W8 sees them and their content because I expect too much.

  Any ideas on how to boot from another device.  I would like to take at least a decent backup using Acronis.

  Go to the Control Panel - hardware and audio - display-

  change the size of the text for the smallest a 100%

  Restart the OS and start adobe flash

  Your question is too vague.  Most of the life themes battery by Windows XP tasks occur only in some computers - and yours may or may not benefit from all the suggested fixes.  In addition, some of these plots have been released a long time ago and were likely incorporated into a later Service Pack.  You should have installed Service Pack 3 for Windows XP 5 years.
