Windows 7 is only 764 GB of an alloccatable of USB 3 TB drive

Windows 7 SP1 running on a processor motherboard and Intel DZ77BH i7 - 55 k. You want to add a 3 TB for backup drive. Disk Manager provides only a GUID of 764 GB partition.  What should I do to see the full disc?

Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you want to add a 3 TB for backup drive, but it doesn't show partition GUID 764 GB. I will certainly help you to question.

I suggest you check the steps mentioned below:

Method 1:

Add a drive letter using the following steps:

1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and security, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. in the left pane, click disk management.

3. click on the drive that you want to change and then click change drive letter and paths.

4. click Add, click the letter you want to use and then click OK.

Method 2:

Perform a disk cleanup evoking the steps mentioned below:

1. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.

2. in the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.

3. in the Disk Cleanup dialog box, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the types of files that you want to remove, and then click OK.

4. in the message that appears, click delete files.

Important note: While running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost

As you're able to boot in safe mode, you can restore the system back to its previous state when it was working fine:

    a. click Start, type system restore in the Search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.

  • No USB 2.0 driver available for HP p7-1254 (for the installation of Windows 7)

    P7-1254 HP Desktop
Windows 7 Edition Home Premium 64-bit

I replaced my hard drive and do a clean installation of Windows 7.
I already found the drivers from hp.com site, and I am familiar with the order and the process of installing the driver on this machine.

My problem is; HP seems to offer is more USB 2.0 for downloading drivers.

USB 3.0 drivers are all that is available for the HP p7-1254.

    So I have two questions:

    1. can I install only the drivers USB 3.0 on a Windows 7 computer, and wait for my USB 2.0 devices to work?

    2. in the case, where can I download drivers USB 2.0 for this machine?

Thank you in advance for any help or advice you offer.

    Hello:

Windows 7 has the USB 2 drivers included with the operating system.

USB3 drivers will only install the drivers for the 3 USB ports.

You must install the amd chipset driver and restart the computer before installing other drivers.

  • Location of the bookmarks on an old hardrive that is not Windows, running but the old hard disk files are accessed through another hard drive.

The old hard disk does not run Windows, so access to the usual file through Windows Explorer or Firefox has not worked for me. The old hard drive is now a slave drive and all files are intact and accessible via the new Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

You have Windows configured to display the hidden files and folders? If not, do it as soon as the first. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=Windows-7

Then, what version of Windows do you have on the old drive? Your profile folder must be on the way there:

    Windows XP and earlier versions:

    \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

    Windows Vista and later:

    \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

If you find multiple profile folders, see the recent order. You find a subfolder named bookmarkbackups. This article describes how to restore the .json files, you will find: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer.

    A little luck?

  • Windows 8 and USB external hard drives

I want a new dv7 with Windows 8 and an Iomega Prestige 1 TB external hard drive I use successfully on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems. It behaves erratically in Windows 8. Sometimes it is not recognized at all. Sometimes it is, but trying to access it via Explorer, Windows crashes requiring a diet forced down. Other times, you can access it with success and even copy a file to it with Solution Explorer, but if you try to copy multiple files with the same drag and drop, it displays the calculation time to copy file window, but the calculation done so forever, just stays there. Also, when you try an Xcopy in the prompt with mutiple files and / or files, copy the first file he is suspended from the command window. The system has a newly updated BIOS and all installed Windows updates. Ideas?

Tried moving the Iomega for a USB 3.0 drive (the drive is 3.0 and 2.0 compatible) 2.0 in Windows 8 port and it now works fine. No idea whether the problem with USB 3.0 with Windows 8, HP or Iomega.

But you can access the files from the web interface and won't icloud drive as drive in the Finder.  You cannot use the Finder to access the files. You need to download it to use.
