My laptop starts to the extent where the login welcome screen, but shows no account username or any other writing.
My laptop uses Windows 7 and I can't start as much as the welcome login screen, but no account of the user is exposed or any other writing. What happens in safe mode as well. I tried to find a solution on the internet but some involve clicking on the Start button, to which I can not because I can not connect.

To do this, restart the computer and press the F8 key for about four to five times. You will see the that last known good Configuration in the advanced options of windows. Please select last known good Configuration and press enter.

Trying to restore the empty desktop icons by the recommendations, I have a white screen with a pointer after login and WELCOME screen. CTRL-SHIFT-ESC gives me the TASK MANAGER. and I returned 'explorer.exe' I then the full desktop with white icons. I need to do this every time I have start or restart the PC. I checked the regedit and the only entry to WINLOG, SHELL is "Explorer.exe" any ideas about a problem? Thank you!
Hi Eric1029,
You can check if the following registry entries are correct.
a. open the start menu, in the search bar type regedit, and then press ENTER.
b. navigate to the following location and check the entries for "Shell" and "Userinit" on the right pane:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
"Shell" ="Explorer.exe" (REG_SZ)
'Userinit"="C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe '.
c. also check if you have the correct permission for this registry key (winlogon)
d. right-click and select permission. Make sure that at least with that you have group administrators, system and installer of confidence with full control and users group read permission.
e. check if you are able to launch explorer.exe in the window running in the Task Manager.
Important: The above method contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

Hope this information is useful.

When I turn on my computer, the screen remains black, until it gets to the windows welcome screen 7, then the computer and video works fine.
I don't see the start of the video card or the blue HP screen information at the beginning upward.
Problem is solved. When I checked the computer with a new video card, I noticed that an HDMI cable was used to connect to my screen. This allows information to move to the screen until windows load the correct driver for my video card, resulting in a blank screen.

Vista hangs at the Welcome screen, restore points have been removed. Any help?
I've had trouble with this during about a week now. For reference, it seemed to just happen out of the blue - have not installed new drivers or hardware (to my knowledge). In addition, tried a restore a few weeks ago point and seemed to work... once. Now I can't explain it, but all the restore points have been removed too!
I'm not an expert, but I try to tackle these things and could help. Here's what I've done so far:
-successfully started in safe mode.
-Open "msconfig".-tried to narrow down the suspects with Services' first.
-Disabled all "Services".
-Restarted and restarted successfully.
-Tried to reactivate Services' one by one.-I got to the reactivation of service 'IKE and AuthIP IPsec keying modules' and restarted. Met again hung up on the Vista Welcome screen.
-Restarted in safe mode.
-Disabled the "IKE" service... ». Restarted fine.
-Repeat the re - turn on and off cycle again, has got the hang up once more for good measure.
-Re-enabled all services except the "IKE" service... "and rebooted fine. Working on the computer now. [Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop, running Vista SP 2 with 2 GB RAM]Did some research on this service and I was wondering if it is an essential service that I should be running (see link below).
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733299%28WS.10%29.aspx
I've saved personal files and try to avoid restarting own Vista, although whereas wiping and running Linux if possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Viza,
I got exactly the same problem on Inspiron 1501 a parent who tried to correct - i.e. problem hanging welcome screen. I have just updated the drivers wireless to the support.dell.com site and have had 3 reboots success in a row, which is 2 more that I could realize by adjusting the parameters of startup using MSCONFIG. Interest how did you decide to update the wireless drivers? -
How can I return the new Welcome screen
My departure to the top of the homepage has changed the Muse CC 2015, after I've updated to the latest version. I used to get free templates I could use for starter sites. He worked for a while now it has changed to as if it were before the updates. One of the updates being the new Welcome screen. It seems very generic and plan as when Muse started first. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
You can download the files from here:

Slide the t icon Fingerprin on the Vista Welcome screen
Hi im using hp protect version 4.00 of the feeder on windows vista tools to access my account adminstrive with my fingerprints. On the Welcome screen it shows two users, they are my administrive account and another user called "swipe to open a session. I really want to remove the icon 'slide your finger to log on' out of my home screen, but still be able to connect to my account using my fingerprint. If anyone knows how to remove it please reply thank you.
Turn off the device and restart the computer, then the connection of the fingerprint scanner icon should disappear. Do not disable or delete the user login screen icon, instead of turn off the ability to use the device as I told you.
"tommy-n123" wrote in the new message: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy... *

How to hide the accounts on the Welcome screen, but not on UAC prompt
Running Vista Ultimate
I created several standard users and multiple administrative accounts of the different members of the family to use. I want them all to use their standard user account when connecting, but when UAC prompts elevated privileges, I want whether they are able to choose their administrative account.
How can I hide the account on the Welcome screen, but allow it to be used in the UAC prompt?
I found how to hide using the hklm\software\microsoft\windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon\specialaccounts\..., reg key but he's hiding of uac as well.
Hello
It's not exactly what you were asking that you however maybe it will get enough to do what you need to close.

How to bring back the old welcome screen?
I understood how to disable the new Welcome screen that happened with the last Illustrator CC 2015, but I can't find a way to get the old welcome screen. His tutorials and information have been very useful.
Unfortunately, you can not. I'm bored, too. Scream, scream and have a shape, maybe they will bring the 'old' but 'new' return to welcome screen stile! Here's the deal, you can go directly on Adobe TV and find that sort of thing. Maybe when people stop to watch videos because they can not find them and are more aware of them, Adobe will get a clue and get another welcome screen!
Everyone listening out there? I teach, especially beginners. It was a fabulous resource for them! Now, they are left with junk that they cannot wait to hide.

I have a HP Pavilion DV5-1234SE, which will not load Windows.
It worked very well, I have stop him - and when I tried to start the next time, be put in place - but will only pass the first black screen with the HP logo. I'm trying to access the start menu, and tried to start in safe mode - but it will not go beyond the black HP screen.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up taking to someone and it turns out that the motherboard is fried. (Greaaat!)
Rather than waste $350,00 replacing I'm just going to get a new laptop (not HP).
