  • OptiPlex 745 sometimes freezes on the start of start page

I recently put the hand on one occasion Optiplex 745 (CPU Intel of E6400 @2. 13 GHz, 2 GB RAM), which seems, to an almost complete lack of internal dust, were very little used.

It works perfectly except the problem that is described in the title of the thread. When he turned, 'sometimes' (maybe 2 out of every 3 attempts), the screen freezes on the start page to start Dell with the stop bar (between Optiplex 745 and BIOS 2.6.6) progress before the end of his race.

It seems if stop is at half way through (under the '7' in Optiplex 745) or after only 25% of his race.

It is interesting that he stops, apparently, exactly one or the other of these two points each time.

Immediately after, if I turn on the machine, then next turn, it will start perfectly about 95% of the time. Otherwise, I might have to stop/resume a third time so he can begin.

While Google has found countless instances of computers to freeze while displaying the boot splash, everything I've come across seem to have problems 'permanent '. In other words, the start is just not possible. In my case, however, I can start and the machine seems to work perfectly as the occasional glitch.

Can anyone shed light on what could happen here? And should I be worried?

    Hi Ron

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I would have given more information in my first post. In fact, the form factor is LTS, the power button remains lit in green before, during and after the freeze, the diagnostic lights 1, 2 and 3 turned ("another failure has occurred") and no beeps sound. I don't know when the cmos battery has been replaced last as I have only had this machine a little over a week ago.

However, it seems that the problem is now solved, but note that I did say that I understood why it is resolved.

I did a lot of fiddling around trying to get this little machine works well. When I finally got in some OS (dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu) installed on the HARD drive, I had two sets of wireless keyboard/mouse hooked through dongles usb - not intentionally, but it's what happened.

That is when I started noticing the problem described in my first post.

As I need a keyboard and mouse to another computer, I removed the dongles (it had a single dongle for kbd and one for the mouse) and, subsequently, I have not had one instance of the problem freeze despite having started the machine at least 30 times since then.

A test, I plugged two dongles of kbd/mouse as before all leaving the single dongle for the other connected keyboard and mouse set. In this case, the start is frozen in two of the three attempts.

In order to have both sets keyboard and mouse attached seems to be the problem.

    But why? I'm puzzled.

  • MAF Freeze on the start screen (Jdev MAF 2.1.0 jdk1.8.0_31 and persistence of Mobile A-team)

    Hi Experts,

I've just updated to the MAF 2.1.0 with jdk1.8.0_31

Previously, MAF Application with persistence of A-team Mobile works very well. However, after this update, it still stuck on the startup screen.

If I change the MAF - application.xml to point to lifecycle.java default MAF, it works fine, even faster.

I tried to debug the A-team lifecycle.java, debugger on the yellow line below Cap. Any solution?

    Hendry,

So, you also use the persistence for MAF 2.0 Accelerator, right?

If so, you must follow the steps in the section "Migrating an Application of MAF 2.0" that you can find in the release notes

  • Firefox freeze at the start, no error message

One minute to the next Firefox crashed. Whenever I opened it upward, it became unresponsive. Never an error message, just a pure gel. The CPU is not going into overdrive. I did a complete uninstall. Created a new profile. As soon as I closed my session, the problem persisted. Even in safe mode, the application crashes completely in 1-3 seconds.
    Using the latest firefox
    Windows 7 update

    Hello

    (1) I tried to install Firefox 18. The problem persists.
    (2) since the problem occurred, I installed chrome, opera, safari, and all work. I have no problem not until now known.

    (3) here is the info you requested:
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Service Pack 1
    System type: 64-bit
    Versions of Firefox used:
    17.1
    18

    (4) here is a more detailed description of the problem.
After uninstalling firefox, I reinstall using the version 18.0. It installs without problem. Once installation is complete, a firefox window opens and works. I can do what I want. Once I quit firefox, each new instance that I open freezes:

    - Normal mode: Freezes when i click on the + sign for a new tab or click on the address bar or just wait a couple of seconds.
    - Safe mode: I try and open it up in safe mode, a window appears asking me if i want to open it in safe mode or reset firefox. If i click on reset firefox, the window disappears, a firefox process in open (task manager) but no window opens.
    - Reset firefox. If I try and reset firefox, the window asking me if i want to open it in safe mode or reset firefox. Upon clicking reset firefox, a new window opens warning me that doing so will delete ... when i click ok, the window closes, however the original window asking me if i want to open it in safe mode or reset firefox freezes.

    (5) I ever get an error message. Where are they kept so that I can join them.

    (6) I installed the recommended 'SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner Personal Edition' and ' user of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I left these travel at night and removed some threats. This solves the problem once I rebooted and reinstalled firefox. I hope it was the last time I have this problem again.

Fixed a problem. Thanks for the support

    Hello

It's not easy to say why this problem occurs. You have purchased a second hand unit. It is possible that your device has a hardware malfunction, but I can't give you an answer why it is happening. I suppose that temperature increases after 10 min of use.
Maybe this could be a problem. It could also be a fault of the motherboard. But these are just suggestions. In my opinion, you should ask the service for detailed information.

    Hello

I think that in this case you must go to an authorized service provider. If the laptop freeze during the BIOS update module ROM needs to be reflashed.

On the Toshiba site, you can search nearest ASP and download all the drivers. Check this box:

    Hello

You could try a more ancient date from the system restore - system restore can also be made with the Startup Repair tool
If there is available Restore Points. Your Toshiba drives allow a startup repair. Just put in the DVD and
then set the Boot Options on the DVD that you start or adjust the CMOS/BIOS to use the DVD as 1st boot device.
(Usually F12 for device startup and F2 for the BIOS/CMOS settings options (for Toshiba).)
