  This is a typical error due to insufficient permissions for the user account, follow these steps:

  Make sure that you had connected to the Mac with the administrator user account.

  Exit the desktop application Cloud Creative and close Adobe applications.

  Step:

  (1) right-click on the icon in the Finder, then select 'Go - To' folder.
  (2) you will get a text box, type in the following command, and then press the 'Return'. () Do not miss ~ symbol)

  ~/Library

  (3) then navigate to Application Support > Adobe

  .

  Right-click on the Adobe folder and select ""GetInfo ' option. "

  Expand the sharing & permissions section.

  Click on the padlock icon in the lower corner on the right. Enter your administrator user name and password when you are prompted, and then click OK.

  Please click on '+' symbol, it will open the list of user accounts. Add currently logged in username and administrator option,

  Then indicate ""& read/write " permission currently logged in username and Administrator option."

  Click the gear icon and select apply to closed. Close the dialog box information .

  Once you had provided all permissions to the Adobe folder, try to install again to follow same steps that I mentioned in the first answer, it should solve the problem.

  No AV program is 100% foolproof, but I love MSE, and I run it on my xp system. Having two AV programs running at the same time is the cause of conflict and slow down your computer. You must make a choice on which you prefer and uninstall the other.  If you decide to choose MSE, download a free copy of Malwarebytes AV to use as a backup scanner. then run MSE for real-time protection.

I can't say what update is the cause of the problem, but am sure the problem is with some windows update. Any help will be greatly appreciated because I don't want to format the computer again, because later the question will come again unless I have disable windows update and live with the consequences.

  Usually, I found that this happens when installing .NET updates - if you give the machine 20 or so minutes to regroup and then restart, the problem disappears usually.

  Your subscription to creative cloud is independent of CS4 and should not interfere with the installation of the Acrobat 9 that came with you more. Run the Creative Suite Installer and installing it will give you a screen where you can choose which application you want to install.

  If you have tried and it doesn't work, we will be able to best solve your problem if you can provide more details as suggested by Mylenium. What is your OS and what exactly happens when you try to install Acrobat CS4 discs? You receive an error message?
