My messages are disappearing, but aren't my partner

If I talk with a friend on Skype, and the messages I send are endangered on my end, but my friend messages are not. He sees them very well, but I can't - and looks like he's talking to himself on my end.

This is not past in conversations with someone else, oddly enough - only this contact.

How is - a workaround?

Updated / restarted Skype and message reappeared. Is no longer a problem, sorry.

Outlook express content of some files went

A user to our small business reports that she one day noticed that the contents of its files to Outlook Express disappeared.  Records are intact, but the messages have disappeared.  Strangely, what happened to half of its files; the content in the other half is still there.

    She uses Outlook Express 6.

In addition to comments of Bruce, likely OE compacted messages and in doing so, he probably wiped out the where they are absent.  Check your Inbox and message store bak files which are backups dbx files prior to compaction (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2).  If you cannot find the bak files, then you will probably use the extract of the service drive of my DBXpress program (see www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/).

  • CRNT FF: 1 of 5 emails lost all my messages on viewing but shows the amount of mails are there. Search can find them all, just will not appear in the Inbox

1 of 5 email ACCOUNTS receive mail OK, but as soon as you leave this account and that you come back, nothing appears in the Inbox. The status bar shows however, that there are 32 emails it even if the Inbox is devoid of any text.

Using Search, I can find ALL 32 emails by searching for a word in the subject field or the body fields. The mails ARE there! They just do not display in the Inbox.

Then... How the hell can I get the Inbox to display its content again?

It worked until the day before yesterday when I read an e-mail from a reliable source and it automatically disappeared, along with all others in the Inbox. All other accounts are working very well.

I tried creating a new email account but it wouldn't let me, giving me an error that the "incoming already exists". No number or anything; it come when I click DONE in the creation process. The new account will not write to the disk.

I ran NOrton, AVG, MalWare Bytes, Windows Defender, Spybot AV and the other that I forgot the name of that time. ALL showed nothing found after each live scan success. I'm reasonable sure, I have no malicious software.

Emails from this account are quite important, and I don't want to lose them if possible; they are for a Committee planning the 50th high-school reunion.

Windows 7 HP, Dell XPS L702, 6 Gig of RAM, Intel i7 processor and lots of disk space. I've also compacted without change. The messages are all still there, but nothing shows in my Inbox; It is empty. I only see them using Find Messages from words I know are in them.

Happy to provide any other info needed to evaluate this. Oh, the account Sends OK too; it's a POP3 account setup.

Any help would be most appreciated!

  • My emails are quadruplicating themselves. When I remove them, they disappear, but when I press send/receive back

I use Outlook express for e-mail. Someone had a problem with the duplication of emails or their refusal to stay deleted?

    The other post:

My emails are quadruplicating themselves. When I remove them, they disappear, but return when I press send/receive. I tried to mark them as read, and then delete them, but have had no success. What is the answer, please?

Poster PA bear MS MVP on another post:

Assuming that Outlook Express (which has nothing to do with Internet Explorer):

    1. move all the messages that you want to keep out of sent items anddeleted items folders and in other local OE folders have created you for archiving (backup) of such messages.

1B. move 99% of your messages in your Inbox folder to other folders the of OE, too.

    2. Note the location of the store of your identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain).

2B. turn on "Show hidden folders and files" via start | Control Panel | Folder options | View (cf.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html).

    3.-online close Outlook Express! <>

    4. in Windows Explorer [Windows key + E], access your storage folder, find & removeOutbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbxand Deleted Items.dbxfile.

To avoid such problems in the future, comply with the following restrictions:

N ' not use Inbox or sent items to archive messages. Move them to local folders created for this purpose.

-Empty the deleted items folder daily.

-Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE while records that "work offline". More onhttp://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

-Do not cancel automatic compacting, where it would happen and do not try to close OE via Manager tasks or stop your Automatic compaction machine can take place.

-Disable e-mail scanning in your antivirus application. It can cause this corruption (as well as loss of messages) and offers noadditional protection:

  • Once received and set of Opera Mail messages, import Thunderbird works fine, but no not record messages sent to the folder "sent", even if messages are sent

I managed to import messages from Opera Mail. Initially, the sent mailbox did not show in Thunderbird. A fast-moving and new installation solved that, but Thunderbird does not save sent messages to the sent box, where imported Opera Mail messages are stored. Even if the messages are not saved, they are sent correctly. The attached picture shows the error message.

Probably a name - confused if you store sent mailserver on he must have the right name. (subscribe)

The contacts on my Mac all disappeared, but they are always indicated on my i-phone 5 c.  Both devices are related to i-cloud.  I need to retrieve my contacts for the Mac.  Thoughts/much received explanations.

Try one of two things on the Mac - toggle contacts go under settings iCloud power OR record completely on Mac iCloud account, then wait a few minutes before you make it back.

It seems that my Inbox file got corrupted. Some State messages were very good days now appear in plain text. The worst is that the content does not match the subject of the message. However, not all messages are affected. What can I do to fix this?

In the past, I've always been able to search a specific e-mail from a client in the search bar up in Thunderbird, and most of my emails now not appear to customers more. They are there, but I have to physically to scroll through all my emails and find them. It is not practical at all, and they have not been deleted, so they should show up in my research. Do you know what I should do to get this working properly again?

  • my iPhone messages are not related to my MBP

My MBP does not check the code to send and receive my iPhone SMS

    Hello rose_bud_2012,

I understand you are trying to use the continuity between your Mac and your iPhone so that you can send SMS and MMS messages from your computer, but aren't being asked to enter the code during the installation. Fortunately, we have a number of measures that can help to ensure that everything is as it should before the implementation, but also to ensure that everything goes as planned during the installation.

Use this feature with any Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that satisfies the requirements of continuity system. Make sure that your devices are configured as follows:

    • Each device is connected to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
    • On iPhone, go to settings > Messages > Send and receive. Make sure the Apple ID at the top of the screen is the same Apple ID you use for iMessage on other devices. Add a check to your address, phone number, so that you can be reached by both iMessage. Do the same on your iPad or iPod touch.
    • On iPhone, go to settings > Messages > transfer, text messages, then choose which devices to send and receive text messages from the iPhone. A verification code and then on each device. Enter this code on your iPhone.
    • On Mac, open Messages, and then choose message > Preferences. Click accounts, and then select your account from iMessage. Make sure the Apple ID shown here is the same Apple ID you use on other devices. Add a control to your phone number and email address.

  • All messages have disappeared from Thunderbird Inbox.

All of my emails have disappeared from Thunderbird Inbox. "Sent" and "Trash" messages are OK. I tried to delete the file "Inbox.msf", as some have suggested, then restarted TB, but the mailbox is still empty. My messages are apparently still in the "Inbox" file (under 'profile'), but all the gobblety-gook with loads of codes and numbers. I copy all of this mess, but don't have a clue how it back in my Inbox and make it readable. Can anyone help?

I don't know why the size has changed... maybe I deleted something?

I tried importing and had nothing but issues (details on my previous answer).

I spent 3 days on this now and I'm tired. I guess I'll try using some email recovery program.

    Thanks for the help.

  • iPhone6 all SMS/iMessage disappear, but still appear in the storage

    Hello

Tonight, I was using my iPhone 6 and it crashed. I returned to my messages to send a photo, and when I did I noticed that all the images have disappeared. As soon as I hit the library, my phone did a hard reset. I went back to see all of my pictures and thousands of iMessages important 12000 have disappeared. I checked my settings of storage and they always take the same amount of space, so I know they are there somewhere. My photos started magically redownloading and are all back, but the messages are not. What should I do?

You never did a backup of the phone? If you had an iTunes backup - restore from this backup would be a way to retrieve your messages

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Note: If you have new messages in the folder you are go restore, move them to a folder first created user, or they will be lost. They can be moved once the old posts have been restored.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently.

  • iPhone app Messages incorrectly reports that the messages are not delivered

I send text messages with the Messages app on my iPhone.  I've never had a problem until recently.

Recently, all of my text messages are marked by a red error message "not delivered".  But the beneficiary is in fact receive these messages.

I want a solution to this problem (if you have one).

    Here are some additional details:

    * I recently made two changes to my iPhone 6, and I wonder if they are related to my problem:

    1. go to iOS 9.3.5

    2 change my cell number

    * I have T-mobile and I "call wifi" enabled.  Usually, I connect using "wifi-calling."

    Hi adaviding,

Looks like you are having some incorrect Messages notifications appear on your sent messages. Not too sure if recent changes have something to do with it, but I would check your message settings to check everything is in order, it. You can also take a look at the link below. Even if your messages are sent, you can always follow the steps then the message "not delivered" can be resolved. You can also try a simple reboot of your device.

Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question. These measures should have your Messages app works as expected. Good day.

    Thank you for using
