HP Mini 200-4200 doesn´t give USB in the Start Menu

Hello!

I have: HP Mini 200-4200, pr B3R47EA #ABU nr. Hard drive died, received a new one and I've been waitng for the upcoming USB info. I just got my USB with the news of recovery on it in time. (Recovery USB key is - 685741-034)

I followed the instructions, but in the Start Menu of Options, he didn t give me an external drive. He gave me 3 options - hard drive for HP laptop, network adapter.

I didn t know what to do, and the thought I´d go out of the system and ask for advice here. Press Esc. He then continued in the Recovery Manager. So I thought, Whew!, it'll work. Now however, he got stuck for about 3 hours (he can´t think as long?) in the present:

"Recovery image factory preparations."

Did you receive any additional disk supplied with the system recovery media? If so, insert it now; otherwise, click on ignore.

Please wait. »

The USB stick has been inserted all this time. Now, after 3 h in the same screen, I got him out for a second and put it back, no change.

Current today?

(should I press the 'skip' button?)

SOS!

::::::::::::::::::::::::::

While waiting for a response, I stopped the mini and returned to the BIOS (no idea what I m done - but in some post, someone said they changed their boot order... went to look for that)

In the Conf system boot order appears like this: hard drive for laptop, USB floppy on say hard Key/Usb, CD-ROM Usb CD/dvd drive! USB floppy (with an exclamation point!) and network card. In the Boot Options startup disk has been disabled... I activated it. just in case... no idea what it means. After this USB doesn´t floppy have a "!" in this topic.

Should I change here something to conditioned USB option? The order?

I turned on my mini 3 times with the USB key in one of the 3 locations every time... it s do not know a good idea, but it's just doesn´t give me the option of Start Menu...?

Now with everything enabled in the boot order... doesn´t still come as an option.

:::::::::::::::

People also speak of traditional can´t find anywhere in the BIOS to change any setting?

::::::::::::::::

Oh and when I pop the USB in a location to another computer, it starts to read... but I m too ignorant and afraid to see that then happens, so I just took new.

Start by using the option for "floppy USB disk hard key/Usb. This should return you to the same place as before. If it is not, disable booting to USB floppy option and try again. Since you did not receive an "additional disk" with your USB recovery media (and even if you did, you could not use it unless you have a USB CD/DVD drive), you'll want to press 'SKIP' when prompted. Then, just follow the prompts as required and eventualy Windows will be installed.

Good luck and after back if you encounter other problems.

Please send Bravo

Hi, I want to be able to boot from a USB key, but in the boot menu, I don't know which drive is assigned to my USB key, can any point me in the right direction?

    Hi PeterWojtasik,

-What is the number of brand and model of the computer?

You must contact the manufacturer of the computer to make changes in the BIOS. You can browse though the list of the boot option in the BIOS. They will be classified as "First Boot Device", "Second Boot Device" and so on. Set the USB as the first bootable, your BIOS option can refer to the player as a 'removable disk USB drive '.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • HP Mini 200-4200

will there be updates of the GUI on my hp computer driver mini 200 for windows 8

    wato500,

The answer to your question is 'no' HP does not support the upgrade of your Windows 8 model because the Billboard supports 1024 x 600. This is lower than the minimum resolution of Win8 requirements.

  • Envy of HP dv6 7252er: laptop keyboard doesn't work anymore, any usb in the BIOS menu and start. In Windows, it works

Recently, the keyboard no longer, no usb, in the BIOS menu bottled in the menu where you choose the Safe Mode boot. It's when you start the laptop, I press F10, it works in the BIOS, and is not a button doesn't work, the time comes, while the BIOS does not work. Also bottled menu at startup, I press F9, comes in bottles menu, but can't decide where to begin, arrows and enter does not.
Laptop HP Envy dv6 7252er, a month or two ago, it worked.
I must say, the night went to remove battery CMOS (Bios), bios folded, reinstalled windose. Did not help. In most windose, keyboard works.
Any suggestions of what to do, or what could be the problem?

    PS Google translator

The problem is resolved. Flashed the BIOS.

    After flash it worked.

  • ProBook 655 G1 all USB works not + frezes on press the ESC to the Start Menu

Just bought some notebooks ProBook 655 G1 (AMD A10 5750 M). But all USB does not work. No mouse or USB flash. The mouse only works in the BIOS. Install the drivers under Windows 7 x 64, but it doesn't help. And it freezes sometimes when I restart laptop. Then I took second notebook, but it's all the same, usb does not work. I Googled, I have to disconnect a usb device when the computer reboots and it's true - with no laptop computer usb connected fine boots. But the USB still does not work.

Why am I that, anyone have this problem? I have 14 of these books, it seems that all will have this problem I can't give them to my clients for working with these issues...

Okay, it looks like this laptop don't like Windows 7 more. Because with Win 8.1 USB taken becomes to live.

But it still freezes on reboot when USB is connected. The only "como autour this question" is enebling Fast Boot, when no usb works on starting the process... but now is difficult to catch BIOS and some features must be disabled.

    Disappointed with this product anyway.

Hmmm... General, people ask how to disable these things...

There are different ways of activation or deactivation of these things, try this

  • For some reason any all the items on the left side of the start menu open to media player, I have tried earlier to get videos to play. And it doesn't let me do system restore

Each item in the left pane displays a video icon and therefore tries to open the media player, also I am not able to do the system restore

Well, the video files will open naturally in Windows Media Player.

You might want to try to reset your default programs:

Default Forums of Windows 7 Associations - restore - file Type

    ----------

    Also:

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any breach of integrity

    Restart your system

    -----------

Check your hard drive for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

    -------------

You can also have a virus. There are some that will hide your files/folders so that you don't normally see them. I strongly suggest to run a scan on your computer with your antivirus/antimalware software. If you need to, you can also use the Microsoft Safety Scanner, it's free:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Also, if your files are hidden, check out the following article on how to display the:

  • How do you eliminate programs in the start menu so that they doesn't start automatically when you start your computer?

There are a number of programs that start automatically and I want to stop them from starting with a boot.

    Two places to look.

1: Start | All programs | Startup folder. Just what you don't want to delete.

2: Start | Run and type msconfig . OK | Startup tab, uncheck the programs in question.

  • Why a shortcut for Microsoft Update doesn't appear in the start menu as it always has in previous installations?

In this latest new installation of Windows XP Pro when I upgraded from Windows Update, Microsoft Update no item does appear in the start menu in previous installations? Can I remove Microsoft Update and then reinstall it? Can I manually install the shortcut? I'm comfortable editing the registry.

Off topic, I know, but you can work some magic for another problem. When I boot, when half of the icons appear in the notification area, I get a message that Windows Firewall is disabled. After the last icons appear, the message disappears and the firewall turns on again. It's annoying, and I'd love to [repair]. Thank you.

Assuming that the message "the Windows Firewall is disabled" comes from the Security Center (Windows), looks like you see what we call a "race condition". Essentially, Security Center is loading before the Windows Firewall was fully charged (may be due to the amount of NAV system resources then uses what he loads and runs his own control over the firewall).

Until the warning goes away in a few minutes, don't worry, you see a normal behavior (for Windows XP).

  • In Windows 7, don't right click on programs in the Start Menu gives no option.

I just installed Windows 7 on my new PC.

I want to be able to right click on the programs located in the Start Menu and different options available.  Now, if I click on a program listed in the Start Menu I get nothing ~ no menu appears.

As a result, some of the things that I can't do are (1) pins a program in the Start Menu, pin (2) a program to the taskbar and (3) run a program as an administrator.

If I right click on the same program located in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs".

the right click menu is displayed and I can do all the functions that must be available by right clicking on the version of the program in the Start Menu.

How do the right click on the programs located in the Start Menu works correctly?

  • Mini hard drive 200-4200-error

    Hello

I have: HP Mini 200-4200, pr nr B3R47EA #ABU, System Board ID 338D, Win 7 (installed at the factory)... .this who else.

I m not very in computer science, first. And on the other hand, I m to Nicaragua on a gap year - around resources.

The Mini is under warranty, I bought it in October 2012, London, it s been gradually slow down, which I have contributed to have perhaps too many things about... Until something happened a few days ago. After market and thought for a few seconds, it makes a little 'bing' and showes "HDD error", please rund the hard drive Test in the diagnostic system.

When I do as it says, in a second (literally, with no time for reflection), rises:

    Hard drive Self test

    Quick test

    Hard ISK 1 fast (303)

    Hard drive Self test

    Full test

    Hard drive 1 full (305)

    INTELLIGENT testing of output control

    HDD SMART spending

Then I press Esc to exit and then rises:

    "Disk hard Test" failed.

Then I did the tapping F10 at the beginning (read in one post Board) to get to the Bios:

I went to Diagnostics and support on the main hard drive Self Test.  It doesn´t seem to do the test because in the same second I press Enter, box comes with 'Quick (303) of hard disk 1', 'ok',... .in the background I can see the short test run 0% complete, duration (estimated) unknown... but I think that it doesn´t do anything. When I press ok, nothing happens.

I m don't know what to do. Or where is my nearest representative of HP. Is there on to Managua? (or Esteli would be closer).

AND - is it possible to recover all the files?

Not sure if this is of any importance, when I go in the diagnostic log, the numbers contained therein are 0303, 0305, 03F1. To repeat.

Please help save my little Mini, it's been a good companion.

    Thank you

    Mayor

    Hello

The ID of the failure will be either a Smart failure or disk Self Test - the two would indicate that your hard drive is defective and must be replaced.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disc replaced.
