  • External microphone level is very low?

    Hi, I have an iMac and am trying to use a condenser nw-700 Neewer with her microphone.

    I have a ghost (an Innogear IG101) supply and it IS lit.

    I have the microphone connected to the power source via an XLR cable, then the power supply of the outputs of the XLR jack 3, 5 mm plug, which is connected to the entrance at the back of my iMac micro.

    Everything is connected and switched on correctly.

    When I put external inputs: Line In System Preferences and/or Quicktime, even with the input volume turned up completely the microphone captures only very low voice.  Typing the spikes the input indicator microphone, so I know that the microphone is "hearing" sounds, but the entry level is low it is essentially useless.  The microphone must be less than 5mm of my mouth and I must scream until it's strong enough in the record.

    Any ideas what is the problem here?  Everything I bought is supposed to be 'plug and play', but it doesn't work well at all.

    According to the info on Amazon, this cannot be used with a Mac.

  • When you use my microphone, the microphone level adjusts automatically.

    In order to fix temporarily I have right click on the speaker icon in the status bar, go to the recording devices, double-click my microphone, go to the levels tab and readjust it. It becomes a huge problem, when speaking with the microphone and the level goes from 100 to 20 randomly and all of a sudden I can't be heard.

    Sometimes she'll be right down, and I do not see a checkbox to disable automatic adjustment.

    I unchecked allowing applications to take exclusive control, but I'm not sure this is related in fact.

    Hey gerri,

    To clarify, you say that the volume slider in the properties of the microphone (pictured below) is self-adjustment:

    If Yes, do you think the cursor moving it is on?

    If so, this isn't a feature in Windows 7 that I know.

    I suggest to uninstall Skype temporarily and restart the computer to see if the problem resolves.

    If your block is not a db block, then you can use decode function when filling the data in blocks.

  • Range of low tint of an image or a lack of transparency level without changing the tones.

    Hello

    I wonder if it's possible a reduction in the level of the hue of a color image.

    For example, I'm a letterhead design and I want an image on background, of course, sort of tattoo paper. I tried lowing openness, and in fact, it seems ok, but just in InDesign. When I export to PDF, it seems to change the color tone.

    test.jpg

    As you can see, there is a difference in tone between the preview of the ID and the PDF document. In fact, I want what he as noted in ID because it fits better with the colors of the logo. What can I do to keep it like that?

    My Image is an Illustrator file and I use ID CS6 Mac.

    And I'd probably start by making a copy of the one you have. Since this is a background, I assume, rather than lower the opacity, you can use shades of your colors, what could work better. You only need transparency if you want the something object behind let shine through or interact. If it's not quite red, adjust the mixture of the color or hue.

    Alternatively, you can try is to use the image at 100% in the ID, and then add a filled [paper] frame above it and lower the opacity of this frame to leave the image to show through, but I suspect that you will see the same colors that you see now.

  • trigger + follow level column changes

    Hi all

    I have some paintings
    CREATE TABLE emp_details
      ( emp_number NUMBER, emp_name VARCHAR2(100)
      );
    CREATE TABLE emp_address
      (
        emp_number   NUMBER,
        emp_state    VARCHAR2(100),
        emp_district VARCHAR2(100),
        emp_pin      NUMBER
      );
    CREATE TABLE emp_contact
      (
        emp_number NUMBER,
        mobile     NUMBER,
        office     NUMBER,
        email      VARCHAR2(100)
      );
    Now, I have to follow the exact changes for all tables for all columns.

    So I intend to make my picture of history as
    CREATE TABLE emp_hist
      (
        emp_number     NUMBER,
        column_changed VARCHAR2(30),
        new_value      VARCHAR2(100),
        old_value      VARCHAR2(100),
        changed_by     VARCHAR2(100),
        changed_time DATE
      ) ;
    So I intend to create the trigger on each table to fill the record in the table hisory. but I'm a little confused. In the case where multiple columns are updated simultaneously so how can I write the trigger?

    Any help or a better idea?

    Presumably, if several columns change, you will need to insert several lines in the history table. It is usually a bad way to follow the story. Eventually generate a so many lines that it becomes very difficult to manage and query and you can join the table to itself several times in order to understand what a particular line looks like at some point in time.

    If you are determined to follow the story in this way, you could do something like

    CREATE TRIGGER emp_addr_trg
      BEFORE UPDATE ON emp_address
      FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
      IF UPDATING( 'EMP_STATE' )
      THEN
        INSERT INTO emp_hist( emp_number, column_changed, new_value, old_value, changed_by, changed_time )
          VALUES( :new.emp_number, 'EMP_STATE', :new.emp_state, :old.emp_state, user, sysdate );
      END IF;

      IF UPDATING( 'EMP_DISTRICT' )
      THEN
        INSERT INTO emp_hist( emp_number, column_changed, new_value, old_value, changed_by, changed_time )
          VALUES( :new.emp_number, 'EMP_DISTRICT ', :new.emp_district, :old.emp_district, user, sysdate );
      END IF;

      IF UPDATING( 'EMP_PIN' )
      THEN
        INSERT INTO emp_hist( emp_number, column_changed, new_value, old_value, changed_by, changed_time )
          VALUES( :new.emp_number, 'EMP_PIN ', :new.emp_pin, :old.emp_pin, user, sysdate );
      END IF;
    END;

    He'll write a line for each column that is part of the update statement. You can add additional predicates to check to determine if the value is actually change (i.e. that the: new.column_name! =: old.column_name with proper management of NULL values if the column allows it).

  • Reading level setting computer microphone

    I have an application that uses the computer's sound card line to save audio files of outputs provided from another source.  We have several systems that receive these audio inputs of different devices and their audio to different output levels of each of these devices.  I have build a sequence of events that change the microphone level upwards or downwards to match the entry to a known sample level.  It uses the APPCOMMAND WM to change the volume of the microphone, see attached VI.

    What I'm trying to do is now made the microphone level after my sequence so I can refer to it later in the report.  The problem with the WM APPCOMMAND is that there is no feedback, I can only change up and down where it should be.

    I looked everywhere for the examples and it seems to help the Winmm.dll mixer settings, I should be able to get this information but everyone I try does not work.  From my research, it seems that he might work for Windows XP, but it changes in Windows VISTA and capable.  We are running Windows 7.  The other problem I have with examples is that they are all for the adjustment of the volume level and I want to read explicitly what level it's on.

    From my research I am reading the setting of the audio endpoint device and it might be able to do away with dsound.dll or MMDevice API, but I couldn't find a way to use one of these to do what I'm doing.

    I searched all over the Internet and more time on it then I would have so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else had any suggestions of sepent.

    Thanks in advance.

    Julia,

    Yes, I had looked at this link, and it's on the right track.  After all my research I understood that you needed to use MMDevices and Audio endpoints, but I didn't know how to implement it.  One of my co-workers have been able to help me with this.

    I have attached all of the code required to make it work.  It's a beautiful VI bit so give it a try and let me know what you think.

    Something to note is in my opinion, this will not work with Windows VISTA and above.

  • Conversion of a microphone to a level signal level signal line.

    Friday, June 24, 2016

    Re: My computer: Mac mini (mid-2010)

    The model number is A1347

    Very well. I wonder if the community of Apple Support can help me with this problem.

    I bought a version a SADES 810 Gaming Headset which is supposed to be compatible with Mac in 2016. I tried to plug the headphones on my Mac mini in the hope that I would be able to have conversations using a magic Jack. While I hear people talking to me perfectly clear with the magic Jack, they did not intend to talk into the microphone of the headset.

    I tested the helmet with a chip "phone and the microphone and the headphones worked well." Thus, the microphone is not defective. I discovered that my Mac mini to model requires a microphone level line. The microphone on the "2016 new Version for PS4 SADES SA - 810 Gaming PC Headset Headset" is not level line, it seems, but the lower level of the microphone. Thus, the microphone of the headset is not turn off force, that he needs to work in making the Mac mini line level microphone.

    On a site I saw this quote:

    "Mic Level is the amount of signal you get a microphone. It is much lower than the level of the line and therefore need to be stimulated by a preamp to be usable in a recording situation. »

    What I need is the gadget that will allow me to connect the microphone level 3.5 mm headphones microphone, on my Mac mini, which will convert then the microphone level low in a line level signal, when plugged (at the level of the line) microphone jack/plug of the Mac mini. Is there such a gadget?

    T he one or two 3.5 mm Sockets?

    The headphone jack on the Mac should include a contact for a microphone. To check see it:

    Hello!

    Have you checked all the sound settings? I think that the microphone level is not set to high volume.
    AFAIK in Skype, you can also change the volume of the microphone.

    Maybe you need to upgrade the driver sound and webcam.
    Audio driver and the webcam software is required to use the internal microphone, because the internal MIC is only available with the internal webcam.

  • Micro level reset themselves

    I searched for this answer but have not found.     Microphone levels to reset all the time, sometimes at very inopportune times.  I tried your fix and it doesn't fix it.  I don't have any installed third-party audio software.  I talked to a number of people and searched online and the consensus seems to be 'oh, it's just a bug with vista  But I use this for work; I really need to work constantly!  Sometimes I'll put back the level (say 35) and come back to should I be recording and find that it is reset to 0 yet once immediately.  It happens all the time.  any ideas?

    Hello

    1 did you change on your computer before this problem?
    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    I suggest to try the following method and check.
    Uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers:
    Step 1: download the sound, video and controller driver on the manufacturer's Web site.
    Step 2: uninstall the audio drivers, then restart the computer. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
    (a) If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    (b) look for sound, video and controller option, expand it.
    (c) make a right click on the audio device, click Properties.
    (d) click the driver tab, and then select uninstall.
    (e) restart the computer
    Step 3: install the sound, video and controller driver and checking.

    That's what I get when I open Ventrilo. Any suggestions on where to find the driver, I need to get this working?

    Hello Reetz,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Vista Community Forums.

    1. ensure that your audio drivers are correctly installed and up-to-date.
    2. in some cases, the drivers are properly installed and the error persists, open teamspeak, go into the settings menu and open the 'Options '.
    3. in the "Sound Devices" tab, change the audio of 'Wave' driver if it was set to 'Direct3dSound' and change to "Direct3dSound" if it has been set to 'Wave' and then press 'Ok '. Close teamspeak and reopen it.

    You can also browse the links for more information on ventrilo and try to contact them if the problem persists.

    http://www.Ventrilo.com/about.php
    http://www.Ventrilo.com/dlprod.php?id=1

    Also, follow the steps below to check if the Microphone is properly configured and enabled in Vista.

    Step 1: Test of an audio signal
    1. click on start, then Control Panel.
    2. click on hardware and sound and then click on manage audio devices...
    3. click on the recording tab.
    4. to test the microphone, speak into it. To test the line, send a signal to the line at the port of devices audio source (press play on the audio player). Look at the gray bars next to the name of the device under the recording tab:
    * If the gray bars next to the device name turns green, this device is active and an audio signal is passed through the microphone or line-in port. This step shows that this problem is related to sound parameters in the software that uses the microphone. If you have not already done so, set the device selected by default and adjust levels. Once the device is set by default and levels are defined, use and adjust the sound recording or voice carrying software.
    * If the gray bars remain inactive and grey, the device does not have a signal. Leave the record open tab and go to the next step.

    Step 2: Check the volume levels and mute
    The volume of the speaker to the microphone and line - in may be activated or rejected. Use the following steps to check the volume of speaker for line and microphone levels.
    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.
    2. click on hardware and sound.
    3. click on sound.
    4. Select speakers, and then click Properties.
    5. click on the levels tab.
    6. click the button mute Microphone and on any other line that is cut.
    7. use the slider to increase the micro level and each line at least 75.
    8. click on OK.

    Step 3: Update the audio drivers
    You can see a front-end port microphone does not work, a recording device is missing in the recording tab, a microphone is not recognized when it is plugged in, or any other problem. There may be updates audio drivers that can solve this kind of problem. Use the following steps to ensure that the audio drivers are up to date.
    1. connect to the Internet.
    2. click on start and enter the Device Manager in the start search field.
    3. click on the plus sign next to sound, video and game controllers.
    4. right click on the name of the sound material and select software update of the driver...
    5. click on search automatically for a driver updated and wait for Windows to update the driver software.
    6 Windows checks a remote Web site to see if the update of the driver software is available.
    * If an update is available, let Windows install the update.
    * If an update is not available, proceed to the next step.
    7. once the update is successfully installed, test the microphone or line like that was made in step 1. If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.

    Step 4: Configuration of Windows registry settings
    By default, Windows Vista automatically activates microphones and line-in ports. Use the following steps to set the microphone/line-in port to be the default port and configure the logging levels.
    1. If the recording in the Audio window tab is not selected, open the sound and click the recording tab and make sure the State is defined as below.
    a - port micro - work and set as default
    b - line In - work
    c - Digital (S/PDIF port) In - work
    d stereo Mix (mixer software) - disabled
    2. If several microphones or line - in ports are available, select the port you want to use. Click on set as default to make this device default audio input device.
    3. If the device you want to use contains a small circle with an arrow pointing down, the device is disabled. To activate the device, right-click the device name, and then select activate.
    4. with the selected device, click Properties, and then click the levels tab.
    5. adjust the slider up to 75% of its range.
    6. If the mute is enabled, click the button mute to reactivate the device. The mute button should show as a blue speaker without any red circle.
    7. If the Microphone Boost is available, adjust and + 20.0 dB.
    8. click OK to make the changes.
    9. test the microphone as was done in step 1 to determine if Windows is able to detect a signal from the microphone or line used. If you have completed all the steps and the microphone or the source device still does not work, the audio ports or the computer's sound hardware can be bad.

    If the problem persists, contact us return with details below?
