My music files are suddenly appeared in my photos file WHY?

All my photos are stored in the folder my pictures - all my own song compositions are stored in the My Music folder.

From one day to the next, some of my music files now appear in my pictures.

There has been no change in program or software and I'm the only user on this computer - I would like to know why this happened - and how I reverse the error.

I would also like to know why customers have to spend time correcting errors service providers. I expect the community to answer this question - it is more a question for Microsoft Management to ignore.

I suspect that this is your image library (not the folder) that has the problem.  The libraries are not records, but instead, they are more like research on the web.  They scan the many areas and show all found in a single consolidated list.

I would be with the right button of your photo library, choose Properties, and then see if the places of music is listed in the areas listed that get scanned for content.

  • I backed up my playlists M3U files before setting up a new computer, but even if music files are there, the playlists now show only a part of the music that was originally in the playlists. How can I get my playlists to work properly?

Sorry in advance for the description potentially lengthy below.

I have the latest version of iTunes on a Windows 10 computer with a processor i5, 8 GB of RAM and a lot of storage capacity.

I recently updated my computer to the above specifications and installed a new SSD as my main and kept my old C drive as a new drive E drive.

I backed up all my iTunes playlists as .m3u files export.

Now that I have set up my computer and installed the latest version of iTunes (I think that I initially ran 9? Or?), my playlists import OK, but the majority of the songs that were in each playlist are not displayed, even if they are there when I see everything in 'My music', and they are in my iTunes folder.

The selections are saved correctly I would say. When I opened the files as text files to check .m3u, good song lists are all in tact and the songs that do not appear in iTunes imported playlists are there in the .m3u.

I tried to re - import playlists, as well as the copy of my music files to my different readers (including the same drive as the .m3u links to and those that they do not). Nothing seems to work. I spent years of compiling playlists are now empty or almost empty, and I can't find a reasonable solution to fix it.

Must the .m3u files be .xml files? Is this a bug between versions of iTunes?

Not sure if it's relevant, but my iPod Touch still has playlists on it. I hesitate to plug them in and try to sync because I don't want them crushed.

Any help would be great, if you please.

I really want to rebuild my entire library of playlists of text files.

    Thank you

"Backup" individual playlists is not necessary and probably will not work in all cases.  All selections are stored in the iTunes (iTunes Library.itl) database and all approaches successful transfer, reproduce or modify your library depends on manipulation of this file correctly.

If you haven't changed anything on the E: drive, you have nothing more that hold down the SHIFT key at startup of iTunes, then when you see this message:

Select the iTunes (the file iTunes Library.itl ) on your E: drive database - if you use default iTunes, this will be in E:\Users\username\Music\iTunes.

  • Display music files in iTunes but do not appear under my folder music in XP

I just opened the My Music folder, and most of my music files and folders have disappeared - I have no idea how that happened as I didn't move all the files to another location. However, these 'missing' files still play on iTunes, but when I search for them, they are not displayed. What can I do to make these files appear in the music folder?

    Thank you very much.
    * original title - Lost music files *.

Unfortunately, I do not use any iStuff or iDevices.

But if possible I would try to save the music files which are playable in a different location via the iTunes player - if possible.

This can create an identical copy of your music, but it is better to create a backup copy while you still can.

in all cases, sometimes the files become not indexed in the master file table.

what you might try is to run a disk check which reconcile the file system.

by the way, you either have your music files on the same drive that has your programs and windows system files?

If so, then the music files can also be very fragmented.

If it was my system I would separate permanently from the personal files, photo and music off the coast the main drive.

  • music files in .aiff format with encoded path names, but are not displayed in Windows Media Player or iTunes.

I have several CDs with music files engraved on them, but when I play one any of them in WMP or iTunes, music plays, but each track does not have a name.  They appear as the track track 01, 02, etc.. The music files are in .aiff format. Now, here's the clincher, the same CD will play in my car stereo and display the name of the track.

Are you sure that they are in the format .aiff? It looks more like an actual audio CD for me (in this case, the music files will have a .cda extension when displayed in Windows Explorer).

If it's an audio CD, then it probably has info CD-text engraved on it. You can install the plugin WMPCDText allowing WMP read this info. Unfortunately, there doesn't exist a plugin similar to iTunes.

  • After extraction of CD all the music files are renamed

    Original title: Rename music files

After the extraction of a cd of music on my computer, all tracks appear as "1'"track 2"etc., and the album is"unknown album ". I modified manually the album title and the titles of the tracks, but as soon as I RIP another cd, the album and titles I just renamed are once more are listed as '1' etc., and they are moved to the new folder of the CD-ROM. Y there a way I can rename them, and "lock" in place? Thank you.

    Method 2:

You can try to rebuild the media player library, and then try to extract again

This problem can occur if the media library is corrupt. Rebuild the library and check if this solves the problem.

Usually, also, had to stop the WMP network sharing Service before you rebuild the library. Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop . Tim Baets

    Hello

    1. is the specific issue of the reading list?

2 are you able to add other songs in the Windows Media Player library?

3 did you changes to the computer before the show?

The Player library is the location in the player that lists all of the music, videos and photos on your computer.

When you play a media file on your computer or a removable storage device, the file is automatically included in the Player library, so you can access it directly from the reader. And if you have access to remote media stored on other computers on your network, you can change the player settings to add those files remotely to the Player library when you play them. The reader does not automatically add a file that you play from removable media, such as a CD or DVD.

Since you aren't able to add songs to the library, you can try the following and see if they help.

Method 1: Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-library-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

This problem may be due to database corruption.  You can delete the Windows Media Player database and check if the problem persists.

Steps to clear the database of windows media player:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

A CD to use in an Audio CD drive must be formatted as an Audio CD.

Finder cannot create an audio CD, instead, it creates a data CD.

Therefore, use iTunes to create create an Audio CD.

  • Where the license DRM for music files are stored

    Hello.

I received an email from moduslink yesterday, they will ship vista in max. 3 weeks ;-) I wonder when I'll get it? But I found something else, I'd like to know:

on the laptop with Windows XP pre-installed, there was these pre-installed music files (shared documents folder) with different music etc..

I copied these files on my desktop-pc computer and (of course) the music is not played due to the absence of DRM-rights... (btw: I really hate this kind of thing DRM!)
WindowsMediaPlayer 10MS on my desktop pc tries to download these DRM files, but cannot get a connection to a server. Probably because, I suppose, the right DRM of these songs is only stored locally somewhere on the laptop.

On the laptop I have MediaPlayer 11 installed (I didn't want it, but I clicked OK for an update of WMP10 and did not know that it is just the upgrade to 11...).

    OK, with 11 WMediaPlayer, I guess, I can't save my license... files? ! ?

Are the license files of these music titles stored somewhere on the hard drive? and where?
Therefore, it would be best just to copy these files from my desktop pc license.

I don't know if there is the same music-files included with Toshiba-Express-Vista-set at level - Programm (?)
, so I want to store (including DRM files) on the desktop pc and then paste them to the laptop.

    you have a few tipps?
    Thank you, goodbye, kai

    Hello

To my knowledge the DRM files has nothing to do with the operating system. The mp3 files must run on XP and Vista, but you know...
I m not a music license expert ;) and can only suggest

However, I studied a little on the net and it seems that the DRM files are stored
in Windows 2000 and Windows XP in this folder:
    drive: \Documents and Settings\All Users\DRM

In Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition (Me)
    drive: \Windows\DRM

If you can't find the DRM folder, the exact location of the DRM folder on your hard disk is stored in the following entry in the Windows registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DRM\DataPath

That's all what I found, but if you want to get more info on the DRM please check this Microsoft Knowledge base article:

  • Cannot play music files because they are protected from the DMA

Several years ago, I decided to save space at home by extraction of CD music on a hard drive external loads and binning then the CD I imported the files into iTunes, but the rest I left intact hard disk.

Now, I find that I can't play all the music files because they have the DMA protection on them. Actually, it means that the music files that I had collected during his life and entrusted to storage of Microsoft (if only I had not sent the CD to the grave!) are lost forever.

I tried to find instructions how to remove the protection (legally), but it seems incredibly complicated. I do not understand how, when, to my knowledge, I did anything illegal, it is allowed? It's not like I sold the CD or even given them!
