My optical drive M-disc is compatible?

I have an Alienware Aurora R-4 with the following optical drive which seems to me to be a Lite-On but Lite-On says to ask the computer manufacturer if it's the M-compatible disc. My Aurora R - 4A was built in late 2012:

That's what tells me hardware ID: SCSI\CdRomPLDS__DVD +-RW_DH-24ACSLD11

Anyone know if this drive is capable of M-disc?

Hello

After some research about compatibility on the Web siteof MDisc, it seems that the optical drive you attached is not on the Compatible list.

  • HP Envy m6 Sleekbook-external optical drives and Windows 8 compatible printers

I just bought the HP Envy Touchsmart K025-DX from Best Buy m6.  I admit that I did a lot of research and I forgot to check if there was a built-in optical drive.  However, I like this laptop because it fit my budget.  I just want to know if I can use any compatible DVD/CD ROM external external external drive CD/DVD/drive or if it is better to go with the HP brand.

I thought to return the laptop to the store and try to buy a new one who already has an internal hard drive built in... but think if I add an external hard drive... he wanted me to return this product.

Also I realized that I probably need to upgrade my HP printer as well as my current HP Officejet j4500 printer software is not compatible with WIndows 8.  Advice and suggestions are appreciated...

    Hello

You can use any external USB optical drive on this laptop and the printer, you can download the drivers for Windows 8 if it is available in the hp.com. Simply search for drivers by putting the search box in top right where it says search Hp.com.

  • Identification of compatible optical drives for Satellite 1800

    Hello

I want to upgrade the optical drive on my laptop Toshiba S1800-314, which is about 10 years old.
When I had installed is the original - a CD Teac CD-224th.

However, it is the first time I upgraded to an optical drive, and I don't know how I should go about identifying the compatible players and I can't find anything useful on the Internet. Can someone advise me?

There are a variety of optical drives listed in my manual that were mounted in the S1800 series and I guess that's not compatible, but I can't see them having a higher yield compared to discs later.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You're right, that you will not get performance gain after update ODD (optical disc).
I m not very well why you want to add new ODD, but to my eyes, this replacement is unnecessary.

  • I can't put a disc into my optical drive.

    Hello

I have a Macbook 2010 Pro and over the past 6 years, I have rarely used the optical drive. Recently, I tried to put in a disk but it wouldn't even go.  I have no idea why this would be.

You have a hardware problem.  Are you sure that there is nothing inside the DVD player?  If you are energetic, open the MBP, remove the disc and open it.  If this is not the case, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.  It is possible that the player has not.

    Ciao.

  • Re: DVD of the (optical) drive cannot read a disc when inserted.

    Hello everyone.

MY DVD drive can not read a disc when inserted.

When I check the Device Manager, it has the following against the optical drive error message:

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

How can I solve this problem and fix it for free if possible? Download a patch from the website of toshiba?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • How to remove the disc from the optical drive

Had to change hard drive on MacBook Pro - had tried to use Drive Genius to fix an old - not good - now have a new HD in there with no OS - now have a disc in the drive I can not eject so I can load OSX of a disc and eith no OS can not download oe ElCapitan Yosemite. How can I get this drive?

It doesn't have an operating system to work, just the firmware. If he tries always to start (for example, the startup chime), turn the power off, press and hold the trackpad in the down position, then press the power switch. That force - eject anything in the optical drive.

  • How can I eject a disc DVD too small (and pasted) I (stupidly, I admit) thinking would run in my optical drive?

The title tells the sad story. I will have to remove the drive out the small 3 inches or more pilot DVD disc I tried to use the optical drive? Of course, he won't obey everything "eject" command.

Make an appointment at the genius bar to your Apple store. It is quite possible that the disk 3 "has damaged the optical drive.

  • Need help finding a compatible optical drive for lenovo b50-80

I ordered recently the b50-80 of lenovo laptop for my mother and I thought wrongly that it came with an optical drive. I tried searching online to see who can be compatible with it. But, I don't have a lot of experience actually shopping for one. The seller has recommended a couple, but I was also wondering if one of my old laptop drives would fit maybe? Focusing on internal versus external. All advice is appreciated!

    Hello.

    Welcome to the forums.

If you want an external optical drive (CD/DVD/Bluray player) I'm pretty sure that any USB key will be compatible with your computer and Windows 7.

I also checked onthe support for this model siteand searched the Manual of Maintenance to find an internal version of the DVD. I'm not complete of course know if, but if you check page 71 the #12 part seems to be the internal CD/DVD. It seems that FRU 25215832 is compatible with the B50-80. You should ask the price of this part (FRU) number and please confirm that this is the guy you want.

And read the Maintenance Manual page #34 if you plan to install it yourself. Otherwise, you can always hire your local Service Center of Lenovo to get the part and install it for you.

What external optical drives are compatible with the Acer Aspire One 722 with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.  I need to make the backup disks and install the CD software.

More external ODD will work just make sure it's an external power source. This allows not to take a lot of power to the unit.

  • Vista 64 Bit Home Premium does not start when a disc is in the optical drive

I tried to understand this for a long time, but I thought I might as well ask for help.  I use Vista 64 - bit Home Edition Premium and the problem I have is that I cannot restart my machine if a disc is in the optical drive. Specifically, if I have a DVD or Bluray disc in the optical drive (IE a BD - ROM drive). When I restart my computer and a disk is present, the startup process is going past the initial windows screen, but that's how far it goes. My desktop (I don't have a password to connect). Initially, I thought it was a matter of priority to boot but the boot process starts from the hard drive but stops at half way through. Then, I went into the BIOS and removed the optical drive completely from the boot priority list.  But there is no change in behavior. The process stops with the only thing visible on the splash screen is a black screen and the hard drive light flashes and goes out from time to time.  I use this computer as my Home Theater PC and sometimes I have to restart my machine when a movie DVD or a Bluray movie is in the optical drive. I would appreciate any response that can help me solve this problem...

    Thanks in advance...

There may be something wrong with the files on your hard disk.  We will try to update to see if it helps:

Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps (I believe you need a disc for Installation of Vista to do that, even if some Installtion OEM disc might work, but probably not all the recovery discs).

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

If this does not work, or if you do not have the disk, try EasyBCD http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 and see if that works and does everything well.  Make sure what you are doing or you could mess up your boot files and you'd be in a lot of trouble.

I don't know if the problem is even caused by startup files (but it is possible if it is not the BIOS), but you'd better check and if the procedures are followed to the letter as stated there is no harm in trying.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Optical drive cannot find the Adobe Creative Suite 6 disc

As written in the subject, my optical drive can't find my drive to Master Collection Creative Suite 6.

    (I use Windows 7 Ultimate)

Every other disc I've tried BD of DVD - ROM or CD-ROM even worked perfectly well.

The disc itself is in good condition (no scratches and others) when I try to manually open it know "no disc not found" and opens the disc so I can insert a disc.

When I tried to force the autorun with "run" he gave me the same message "no disk found.

  • Optical drive doesn't recognize discs CS6

I just got a MacBook Pro and installed WIndows 7. I dug up an old optical drive (3 years?) and installed MS Office very well. However, when I put in the CS6 Master Collection installation disc, it does not recognize it. Doesn't even spin. No idea why? And there at - it a download for the suite option?

Also if the optical drive is a CD player it won't be able to read the Creative Suite 6 DVDs.  You can check to see if there's a DVD symbol on the front of the drive.
