My processor is reduced Performance.

Hi all

I have a HP dv6-1330 sp and I recently did an upgrade processor to an Intel Core 2 Extreme x 9100 processor and it worked fine.

Until I recently formatted the hard drive to a new installation of new windows and when I had updated the BIOS, my processor had slowed a lot and my fan works almost always hard and become noisy.

What can I do to recover my CPU performance?

PS: I got higher than 6 sides and now only get a 4.6 in the ranking of the CPU in the Classifications of Windows

(images of cheques).

Sorry for my bad English, I hope that someone help me in this

Greetings from Pentecost,

Antonio

I'm looking for the manual for your laptop and I don't see an option to disable speedstep, he seeks to be enabled by default in the BIOS and cannot be changed. but it looks like that the BIOS still think I have the original processor installed, so the maximum clock speed is what your old processor clock speed was (2.2 Ghz) and the only options are to reinsert the processor, which means start the laptop with the processor not inserted and then reinstalling the processor, allowing the system to reconfigure. or you can see if you can find a jumper reset or reset CMOS switch on the laptop computer motherboard.

    Hi Expert,

I'm not that good in script and even learn how to write one, but for the moment that I need help get script that could generate as below output.

    Example query:

    Retrieve logs performance for vmname1, vmname2, vmname3 from 07:00 to 10:00 on 25/05/2012.

CPU MHZ, and MEM in MB.

I appreciate really all advice in this area. Thank you.

You can try something like this

    $vms = Get-VM vmname1,vmname2,vmname3 $metrics = "cpu.usagemhz.average","mem.usage.average","cpu.usagemhz.minimum", "mem.usage.minimum","cpu.usagemhz.maximum","mem.usage.maximum" $start = Get-Date -Hour 7 -Minute 0 -Second 0 -Day 25 -Month 5 -Year 2012$finish = Get-Date -Hour 10 -Minute 0 -Second 0 -Day 25 -Month 5 -Year 2012
    Get-Stat -Entity $vms -Stat $metrics -Start $start -Finish $finish |Group-Object -Property EntityId,Timestamp | %{
      New-Object PSObject -Property @{
        VMName = $_.Group[0].Entity.Name    Date = $_.Group[0].Timestamp.ToLongDateString()
        Time = $_.Group[0].Timestamp.ToLongTimeString()
        MemMax = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "mem.usage.maximum"} | Select -ExpandProperty Value    MemAvg = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "mem.usage.average"} | Select -ExpandProperty Value    MemMin = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "mem.usage.minimum"} | Select -ExpandProperty Value    CpuMax = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "cpu.usagemhz.maximum"} | Select -ExpandProperty Value    CpuMin = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "cpu.usagemhz.minimum"} | Select -ExpandProperty Value    CpuAvg = $_.Group | where {$_.MetricId -eq "cpu.usagemhz.average"} | Select -ExpandProperty Value  }
    }

Note that this will depend on the statistical level that you set for the chosen time interval, if the measures minimum and maximum will be available.

  • HP Compaq nx6310 - Windows 7 32 bit - power-processor-core of event ID 37

    Hello everyone,

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my HP Compaq nx6310 computer and whenever the system starts up, I get 2 warnings in Event Viewer

    • The speed of the CPU 0 in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report.
    • The speed of the processor 1 group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report.

That also seems to happen on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition SP1, but it is not on my Windows XP system. The problem will not occur if the system (Windows Vista or Windows 7) has been started in safe mode. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Here are the specifications of my computer:

    • Processor: Intel Centrino Duo: Genuine Intel(r) CPU T2300 at 1.66 GHz (Dual Core)
    • Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 30AA (KBC Version 58,13)

    Thank you
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your reply and I apologise for the delay. I tried to understand the problem, then I discovered that the maximum frequency of the processor is stuck at 59% via the resource monitor, I guess that's why I got a warning in the event log. I tried switching without result power plans. I think it's something to do with saving technology (even though I'm on AC) of energy, but I can't control how my processor or how power is saved via the BIOS (I don't have the options for this)

However, Safe Mode, I get 100% maximum frequency.

EDIT: I managed to understand it with the help of CPUID! My CPU clock is automatically reduced when I walked into Windows 7 in Normal Mode (I guess it's something to do with the processor), so I downloaded ThrottleStop and restored the multiplier to 10, where now is 99% maximum frequency and the computer is super fast! Thank you very much for your kind and helpful suggestions, I hope this helps anyone having the same trouble.

EDIT: The problem was EIST (Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology), who strangled the CPU while it was hot. I disabled it remove its driver from the OS and then I was able to get 100% maximum frequency.

  • Event 37, core - for 8-processor CPU power

    Hello!

    Thanks for reading!

First of all, I should mention that my computer works well. However, in the Event Viewer I see several warnings for:

    Event 37, kernel-processor-Power

The messages that I receive is:

The speed of the processor (0-7) in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor has been in this state of reduced performance (usually 3-5) seconds since the last report.

Whenever there are 8 of the same event, at the same time, one per processor.

I was wondering what could be the cause. I think that this could happen while my pc is in standby mode when it is and I do not use it.

Is it a "problem"? The temperature always seems to be cool. And flipping through the event log, I see that it happened almost since I bought the computer (nine).

    Alienware m14x.

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU

    Installed RAM: 6 GB

    System type: 64-bit

    All THE drivers/bios updated.

Yet once again, I see nothing wrong with how the PC behaves. But the warnings that I see in the event viewer are alarming.

Is this common? This could be the cause?

    Thanks again for reading!

    Hello

Method 1 : check that the power setting are set to the maximum, even when the battery is in use.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/power-management

Method 2: check that the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) of the power settings are set maximally.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

  • vRO data base Performance requirements

I am running vRO in a non-production environment / small.  When the embedded database vRO responds is more performance requirements?  How many simultaneous streams can take or what are the other performance indicators that will tell me that I have to go with an external database?

The size of the environment can affect memory vCO before touching the DB footprint. Which can affect the DB, is that if a large environment, you have a lot of workflows running and do things such as loops example change a table that contains a large number of virtual machines. This will force the vCO to save the attribute in the DB.  I would say that in terms of inventory for vCenter 3 digits is small to medium, medium 4-digit large, but large to very large 5 digit once more the best way is to measure the number of IOs in the DB (Hyperic has some agents nice to do) and so when the increase of early vCO activity slow down.

Regarding the issues I've seen regarding DB performance there is a known problem affecting MS SQL that is doing a lot slower than Oracle or postgreSQL and I saw a lot of IOs to a customer who wanted to push up the number of simultaneous workflow by default 300. The test was to be between 300 to workflows running concurrent until 1200 making short wait for time in a loop instead of using System.sleep. In the first case memory / CPU was going well since waiting for timer passivate the java thread of workflow to the DB but significantly increase the number of IOs to the DB and in the second case the DB has been little used but Java memory and CPU usage was much higher (with memory being the leading cause of reduced performance causing Java garbage collect memory regularly).

vCO is used by much of VMware customers company with very large deployments. In addition to MS SQL problems, I've seen very few cases where the default settings had to be changed. Performance problems I saw were due to inefficient scripting and more often create too much stress on the orchestrated systems, not vCO.

One of the reasons why I recommend you to run vCO on a computer separate vCenter virtual is because usually both need resources at the same time.

Another recommendation is to separate the content (DB) in engines (VCOs in a cluster servers). This helps all operational aspects such as backup / restore, monitoring, logging, upgrade.

I think that what affects the performance of the vCO is the HD IOs. This is certainly the case if your workflows contains many boxes / Server.log batches (access DB) and a lot of logs (logs IOs).

I did some tests, increasing the number of processors, but found that it does not any change since most of the time that the workflow is waiting for an external call ends.

So essentially the use of the vCO differs a lot based on the environment and especially how the workflow is written. The default settings should match most of the use cases. If degradation of the performance of compliance monitoring is the best option to find out how to optimize the installation program.

  • Allocation of computer processor virtual and conflicts of resources

Hardware: Dell VRTX, 3 M620, 2-10 Core CPU blades / Blade (40 Total-blade of logical cores), 128 GB RAM/Blade (will be promoted to 192 GB RAM/blade in the near future.)

Operating system on each virtual computer: Windows Server 2012 R2 64 bit

I currently have five 5 VM running.  I'm new to VM and I have been very generous in allocating CPU/RAM/disk space when I install these virtual machines.  I was told to add three additional 3 of the virtual computer.  One (1) of these 3 three new VM should very light as the software installed will not take resources.

The provider of software for the three sectors of talking the new VM a portion of their applications installed on a virtual machine sometimes has problems with CPU contention, if more than one CPU 1 is allocated to the virtual machine where the software is installed.  The software vendor talks about the virtual computer by using more resources, caching, etc..  Software indicates the requirements of a physical server processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core (2 GHz) processor.  This software publisher also refers to the allocation of CPU plus sometimes reduce performance.

My RAM and CPU current assignments are:

MACHINE virtual #1: 8 logical cores - 64 GB of RAM

VM #2: 4 logical cores - 16 GB of RAM

    VM #3: 4 logical cores - 32 GB RAM

VM #4: 4 logical cores - 16 GB of RAM

    VM #5: 8 logical cores - 32 GB RAM

    Proposed future VM:

VM #6: 4 logical cores - 16 GB of RAM

VM #7: 4 logical cores - 16 GB of RAM

VM #8: 2 logical cores - 8 GB of RAM

VM #7 is the one with the software that the seller is concerned.

    Currently:

    #1 blade has VM 1 & 2

    Blade #2 has 3 & 4 VM

    Blade #3 has 5 VM

    Of your experience:

    1. what problems of resources that you met related to the CPU contention, caching, the use of RAM?

2 do I propose above seem like he would have problems with restraint of resources resulting from the system bogged down?

    3. What are the best ways/tools to monitor the use of restraint/resource?

    4. If I wanted to briefly shut down a virtual machine and lower cores of CPU and/or RAM allocated, this has a negative impact on licensing of Windows?  It seems that no impact relative to the licensing, because Windows must see only little material change.

    Thanks in advance.

Someone else takes care of the installation/specifications (after the virtual machine configuration).  Therefore, allowances will be made by their instructions.

  • Poor performance on Trainz Simulator 2

I play Trainz simulator 2 for the Macbook, and I seem to get low performance if I have high video settings or if I'm weak on battery. I would like some advice on what are the best settings for my graphics of Trainz.

    Here are my specs:

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inch, mid-2014)

    2.6 GHz Intel Core i5

    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Iris 1536 MB Intel

    Welcome to Apple Support communities

The behavior you describe is normal. Your Mac's only got a GPU integrated, so he can fight with the games running in circles of high quality, and Macs are defined to reduce performance when they run out of battery (to avoid a stop).

The key is to find the right settings for your game to get a decent yield with good quality. Try to choose quality settings average and if that wasn't enough, low quality settings. A MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display is certainly not designed to play games with it.

  • The UPGRADE of processor in NB520: of N550 at N2800

Hello everyone. This is my first post. My question is this:

I've a Toshiba NB520 netbook with an Intel Atom N550 processor. I would like to know if I can upgrade the processor * welding * a N2800. This is the same socket: BGA559.
I don't know if the BIOS or chipset would recognize the processor.

Can you help me? Thank you!

    Hello
To my knowledge the processors are not welded but "nested" which means that the processor is removable from the system board.
But this does not mean that the party must be exchanged/updated or changed.

In most cases, the BIOS does not work with the replaced CPU which causes a malfunction of the machine. The other reason that could make this not recommended is the chipsets support.
However, support for chipsets can be checked on the Intel ARK Web site.

But I m wondering why you want to upgrade the processor? The performance difference isn't important.
Of course, you'd get a faster processor, but the performance gain will be not noticeable.

My advice: replace the HARD drive with a new SSD. It's much better choice to increase the performance of s for laptop.
